Yes most open season from living memory so that is why I am so [censored] off with our injury list. Get Gawn back but lose Jones and Watts in the one week, 2 players who have missed very few games in the past 6 to 10 years. What are the odds? This is the year to keep a full list and have a real crack in the finals. But no not this year for us!

Just reinforces the thinking that all we have to do is get into the finals and we have a big chance. Adelaide at home is not scary in a final.

What is this anti Argentinian Malbec diatribe I am witnessing Uncle. Think yourself lucky to be offered such a luxury in the third world. Invariably drinkable in my experience.

Can't get thru the Hun paywall but I think I can guess if it is in the Hun it is shall we say not quite scientific? -
Yes at the game I was wondering what the % time in possession was around half time. No such stats at Etihad. The dogs had a lot of the ball in their front half but we were relentless in our defencive work, they just couldn't score. Still pinching myself about how intense we were at the contest. Never seen it before at this level for consecutive games. Keep that intensity up and we will take some beating.

And Lewis said on SEN he has only played 7 games this year after his enforced layoff so he said he is on that plane!

6 T Mac 5 Hibberd 4 Salem 3 Lewis 2 O Mac 1 Watts apologies to Jetta, Oliver, Jones, Pedo, Bugg, ANB and everyone else.

Me too and it was amazing how early the Doggie supporters left the ground who were sitting around me, two next to me before half time. I was starting to think I might have a body odour problem or something!
-
Not sure we needed Buggs rough stuff, it just fired up the Bullies who got 2 in a row. Just stick to playing tough accountable footy.

Nothing much in the bump but the follow up open palm jolt to Rance? that followed looked very Hogan like to me. At least I think I saw that in the replays.

Already very special but will get seriously better in a much better side. How many meters gained last game 750 metres. This kid is seriously good, just stay bold, stay fast, stay Fit!

Where is Viney?

Interesting Robbo never took a technical high mark, they all seemed to be high flying chest marks. No one else did that so often I think. Although Shaun Smith was similar, especially the mark of the century against the Lions. And how often were Lyon or Neitz the step ladders? I still think Howe's running with the flight of the ball high mark over a 6'4" Embley at the G is an extraordinary example of AFL aerial athleticism and unique amongst the 70 highlights, I think Jurrah's amazing one handed pluck from mid air was against the Saints. And yes it was mesmerising.

Dummy or Gypsey?

Biff what are you proposing as a solution? Is it internment for anyone who professes to follow Islam and anyone who we might suspect might follow Islam and let's add anyone who looks like they might follow Islam?

Where is Hemingway when I need him? We need a ruling on this important issue!

Praha from East Melbourne, aren't you inner city? But not a subscriber or believer.

Are you more into the Hun or the OZ, Pro? Or have you ditched all your local newspaper prescriptions for Breitbart News?

Not in the toilet?

Recidivist relapser = redundancy? Sorry to get all grammatical but we do need to lift this thread back to its former lofty heights! Ummh is that also a redundancy?

You are right Jara, my slip up mid rant, I didn't need to add any descriptors and a wrong one at that, for climate change, my point was that it is happening now irrespective of what predictions people have made in the past or worries about world wide scientific conspiracies
-
Yes DC it cuts both ways whatever your meaning, sorry I have come in late on this discussion but any accusation that scientists are protecting their incomes by exaggerating global warming with empirical data and actual facts has to be balanced against the fossil fuel industry and their trillion dollar interests in sowing doubt with no facts, no data, no scientific papers that have been peer reviewed. I love the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's response (ex Exon Mobil MD) to the question of climate change, yes he believes it is happening but he also believes we can adapt to it! Yes I am sure multi millionaire Rex and his family can adapt to any change in sea levels or crop growing conditions, drought or floods, but hey what about the billions of people who don't have options you flicking idiot!!! So we have vested interests protecting their million dollar jobs. We have certain spokespersons who question predictive models, and mostly attack anyone who ever made a prediction. They have no facts to the contrary, just sowing doubt. Take the Weekend Australian article by Clive James of all people on Climate Change, it is a classic 5000 plus word rambling anti climate change diatribe devoid of any data or facts just the usual playing the man, not the ball we see from Bolt and Co. Yes you guessed it poor old Tim Flannery copped it yet again for wrong predictions about drought etc and buying a house near a river. Good heavens how often can you recycle this Shyte as a new argument? I thought Clive was above that rubbish. Lets get this straight Climate Change is a natural phenomenon that is happening independently of whatever certain people are saying whether it is Bolt or Flannery or scientists trapped on a boat in Antartica ice. The evidence is here and now. 29% of the Great Barrier Reef is seriously bleached north of Cairns and in trouble despite claims from Pauline Hansen and Wrecker that it was fine last time they jumped in for a swim. Most scientists say the reef is dying, the Government wants to ignore this and the local tourist industry wants to avoid further discussion to keep their companies going in the short term.

Has this thread reached its nadir? Talk of ablutions, nasty stains, I mean really. I think of the halcyon days on this thread when I could converse with the likes of Hemingway, BB, Moons, even DC occasionally or Uncle about the political situation in Cuba and other parts of Central America or the world in general at an adult level and feel we were adding our bit to the sum total of human knowledge. Well those days seem to be passed us now with this talk of toilets and ablutions! Where to from here for this thread I ask?

I wonder how many dream team points JT has to rack up to get in the best players named?

Ahh Uncle Doug I remember way back when channel 7 did one of their first all night Grand Final Eve footy marathons and Uncle was spruiking a bubbly, Seppelts perhaps, by downing a glass or two with every advert at every quarter break. Well the ads were getting longer and less coherent as the night wore on and then at about 2.30 a.m. Peter Landy appeared to do the advert saying Uncle had been taken home. Those were the days of live telly, anything could happen.
