  1. Tommy Rotcliff and Wines along with Jones, Tyson and Viney, hmmm what could have been and one could add Sloan. That is some mid field lost in our missed opportunities
  2. HT we must have crossed paths at some stage. Apart from hanging around the Kingston back then ( and I still do at times) I was studying at Swinburne Institute of Tech in the early 70's as well. I was studying engineering so was doing up to 26 hours a week of class time with an all male cohort so we were envious of you graphic arty types hanging around the Swinburne Caf, smoking the odd joint with a bevy of good looking women, seeking creative inspiration no doubt. I had come from all male schools so it was all too much for me, women everywhere, but I am stuck doing lectures with a hundred male engineers. I never had much money to buy anything much but a bucket of chips and a cup of tea but it was always a good perve for the desperate to see who was there from graphic arts! I remember there was a Scandinavian type MILF who worked the Caf tables, collecting the cups and plates and wiping the tables. She always wore a short skirt and different coloured knickers everyday that we all checked out while she was working. But you were surrounded by beauties in the arts school so would not have noticed our desperation.
  3. Hey Nutbean how did you go at the Sting and Paul S concert last night? I liked it. It was an interesting start because I was wondering who the bearded, dark haired bloke was playing guitar with Paul Simon. Then he started singing and I realised, hold on that is Sting! I should point out I am always way up in the cheap seats. Anyway the musicians from both bands were incredible as you would expect, Paul was great but I really liked Sting he can still belt out a hit big time. His voice is still very strong but not sure about the new hipster look, although he could pull a job in a Fitzroy cafe tomorrow no worries and most would not recognise him. Now I did see security escorting out a bloke towards the end, I hope that wasn't you NT maybe you had been abusing the big plonker?
  4. I am off to see Sting and Paul Simon tomorrow night! The reviews have been good so let's see how it goes. Mainly a Police fan myself but Paul S has had some great songs over the years as well.
  5. Macca Eric is good but Eric and Stevie Winwood is double. I reckon. http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=eric+clapton+and+stevie+winwood+double+trouble+utube&FORM=VIRE2#view=detail&mid=898AF8BF9C0625C7AE5B898AF8BF9C0625C7AE5B
  6. Macca have you caught up with this group? http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=future+islands+bbc+utube&FORM=VIRE2#view=detail&mid=3A9722F1A9FCC794B99C3A9722F1A9FCC794B99C
  7. Loved both Macca. I had totally forgotten about Conquistador from my early teens, brought back some memories. And the Bruno track is outstanding, anything up beat with plenty of brass gets me in, aka Style Council and I knew a mates brother who, played trombone with Kids in the Kitchen all those years ago. Yeah you are right you tend to like the type of music, big guitar or plenty of brass that was around when you were young. PS I reckon the Missus will love the Bruno track that is her type of song, being a teacher she is always trying to stay in tune with the kids to some degree at least.
  8. Not to be confused with Boko Harem!! I have been playing Bridge of Sighs, Too Rolling Stoned and A Little Bit of Sympathy in the car this week at high volume too. It is driving the Missus mad, she just does not appreciate an electric guitar! Just don't understand it.
  9. Macca Recently ran across Robin Trower's "Bridge of Sighs". Powerful guitar stuff from the 70's. Love it.
  10. HT I have been there and voted. The music is great, I like the lyrics, the guitarist is a knockout. Now the lead singer shows promise but needs to work on his stage presence, energy levels. As they used to say on New Faces you need to look as if you are enjoying yourself and you could cut the hair but maybe I am just jealous I am bald.
  11. Again BBO I stand in awe of your self control and salute you as I drink to the honorable Cardinal Puff for the third time!
  12. BBO my understanding is that royal protocol says that one can toast Her Majesty with any alcoholic or non alcoholic libation except a cocktail drink and it is not good form to smoke either. So you will be free to make a royal toast with say ginger ale if you like this month! As for me I will again celebrate your continued abstinence with a hearty Heathcote Shiraz, all of them I will dedicate to your honour this very night.
  13. BBO let me toast your success so far! You are an inspiration to us all!

Murray is Gawn! Mostly in the head, unforced errors everywhere in the last 6 or so games. It's the Joka from here on.
  15. Earl Hood replied to 45HG's topic in Other Sports
The Joka looks injured but he may be bluffing! But what a match so far!

I think so. The only other contender would be Navratilova, similar power, athletic, big serve, focused mind. That would be a great contest.
  17. Urich! We are up 15 minutes to go.
  18. Shyte! Extra time
  19. Yes as I said to the wife at half time that sums up soccer, totally outplayed but one lucky strike and we are in front. In AFL we would be 6 goals down easy.
  20. Luongo!!! 1 0 Australia
  21. I will drink to that!
  22. Next stop could be the High Court to meet James' need for closure. Thank God the Privy Council isn't still an option!

Big time win by Kyrigios against Seppi tonight. For a 19 year old to come back from 2 sets down is exceptional in a slam. If he can keep his head together he could be anything! I mean his backhand is nearly as good as mine!
  24. Atti Abonyi perhaps?
  25. Tim Cahill you beauty! Number 2! Is there a better player in the air than him in world football? I doubt it.
