  1. Maybe to stop the VFL clubs then being at a disadvantage due to having a player taken in the SSP, maybe the player should have to come from within that teams own system. So a Casey player for us and a 2nds player from Carlton. If we are allowed to sign another player, then Culley certainly fits the above criteria.
  2. What if your father supports the Filth? I didnt have a choice in fathers, although despite being a Collingwood fan, is a pretty good bloke. I surely couldnt loose it for that🤣🤣
  3. Or how about if the AFL medically retire a player, the AFL pay out the contract. The AFL want these players not play for legal reasons down the track, then they should be responsible for any payout. The player is then removed from the playing list, another player can be added through "Special Circumstances". Player wage is also removed from the clubs salary cap.
  4. I dont know about anyone else, but im sick to death of hearing about player signing long term deals only to decide half way through them that they want out. If this text message stuff is even only half right, then why play him????? If his form drops off and has a "Jackson like" half of the season then there is no value playing him, i did mention this in the Luke Jackson thread back then as well, we could all see he was checked out after the bye round, i wanted him dropped. If you dont want to be here and bleed red and blue like we all do, then move along and we can find others that will.
  5. Check out Rounds 8 to 17, its a bloody horrible run of travel away, home, travel away. I know we have the last 7 in Melbourne but we will be well cooked with all the travel
  6. Seriously, does anyone on here think that whatever comes of the Review, the press will give us a fair go? Have a look at the [censored] being said about Brad Greens tweet, the media complained Roffey said nothing to defend the club, Green does exactly that, they say he should keep quiet and mind his own business. Granted he has a lot to deal with but personally, i want a president that goes into bat for one of the clubs players no matter who it is or what the media will say.
  7. I could be wrong but i think we need a list spot for McVee, i seem to recall someone saying his is still on the rookie list. I suspect they might upgrade AMW as well.
  8. Swooper, agree with most of what you said here, but even since both us and Geelong have shut the Oliver trade stuff down, they continue to bang on and on about it. Seems they have an agenda and they are sticking to it. Nothing out club says now is going to be taken as truth. Unfortunately.
  9. Thank the Lord someone here has finally reealised why we went for Campbell, he will be much more the people think, he will be great for Verrall and is also a great clubman, just what we need right now.
  10. It might turn into an all in brawl.
  11. If Pert has been shopping him around and the coaches dont want to trade him, how ling before Pert is shown the door?? Brad Green, get on the front foot and move him on right now. Cant cop much more of Perts rubbish. Move on DH.
  12. The racial thing has been swept under the carpet, we are helping keep that out of the papers. No that the media would report it anyway, its Collingwood, nothing to see here.
  13. Dont get me wrong Supreme, i think he would be awesome for us, just with all the absolute tripe going on at our club, why would he want to put himself in that position???? Just cant see it happening. Hopefully im wrong
  14. If its a choice between Collingwood or us and he wants to get back into club land, do people really think he would choose us??????????
  15. Also keep in mind before last season he had played 11 games in 2 seasons. It can take a while to get back confidence in your body after injuries, Petty is in the same boat. Let see if he is any better next season with a full, uninterupted preseason.
  16. Fair point, but why should we not put our efforts into player we may actually be able to get with a freebie?
  17. Should be removed from the program ASAP.
  18. Add me to the DM list as well.
  19. MurDoc, The question of "who was available" should also go along with "what are you prepared to give up to get one?" We did have high draft picks but i thought we needed to get some speed in this team and look how Windsor has turned out. Remember the uproar on here when the Oliver news broke last offseason and the notion of us trading him came up? The outrage on Demonland over that was crazy, so can you imagine the outrage if we traded out a Fritch or Rivers to get a KPF? We asked the question of Carlton about McKay and had a go at Norton as well. Im gunna get smashed over this one but about 3 or 4 years ago we had a big go at Tex Walker, this site blew up due to the racial slur business he was dealing with at the time but could you imagine him in our team for the last 3 or 4 years?? How many more Flags would we have won? Just my opinion
  20. People, please, he isnt getting off, he plays for Melbourne, we arent one of the AFLs protected clubs, now if he played for Geelong, Sydney, Collingwood or Carlton we may have a chance. But the facts are that he should, low impact, no doctor, no concussion test, no remonstrating from other Crows players.
  21. Yer all fair points Nascent, Mckercher being a lefty might be the preferred option but unfortunately i think most of those players are gone by our first pick.
  22. Not sure we need another one like this. We already have too many undersize players. Need some tall marking power, Nate Caddy for me.
  23. What we dont need to do is throw all our draft picks in for a midfield kid. We have pick 5, which may end up 7 or 8 depending on academy pics, use 5 for Nate Caddy. Possibly the best forward in the draft, 192cm and 91 kilos already. This kid, JVR Fritta, Kozzie, Petty and Jefferson if he can size up would be what i go for. Our list isnt that old except for Max and May, the rest still have plenty left in them. Keep the faith Dees supporters, we can still win it.
  24. As for this weeks game, BBB simply has to come in. I dont think that its any coincidence that the Fritch Magnet had gone off the boil since BBB has been out of the team. I know BBB isnt much good when the ball hits the ground but isnt that what Kozzie, Spago and Chandler are in there for? We must play a third tall in the backline, we won a premiership with this structure and have barely used it this year. Play Disco Turner for the rest of the season and tell him that 1 bad game is not the end of him playing at AFL level. Not much point drafting these kids if they never get much of an opportunity to prove they are good enough. I rather loose teaching kids for the future than loose just going through the same motions as before. And if someone on here could pass this onto Steven May, please dont continue to kick the ball to the same spot after a point, im pretty sure that the other 17 clubs know exactly where you are going to kick it. Furthermore, could you ask Gawn and Grundy to lead to the opposite sides of the ground, wouldnt that be a nice option to have. Bring in the Woewodin lad, need some legs speed since most of our elite runners seem to have concrete boots on. I understand its not in Goodwins nature to make so many changes but we need a change up
  25. KDF, i was 14yo, at the game with my uncle who got me into barracking for the Dees. After the game was over, we sat ant VFL in our seats for at least 20 minutes, couldnt believe what we had just seen. But we had our chances to put then away early in the last and i think we kicked 4 or 5 points in a row. A day that most on here will never forget, but had we won, Robbie wouldnt of played due to the broken shoulder and we would of got beaten up by Carlton, maybe not as bad as 1988 but i would not have been pretty.
