Tasmania is a much better proposition than Darwin... You could if you try probably pick two champion teams comprising Tasmanian players that have been "stolen" from Tassie over the years.. Starting with just a few.... Hudson. Stewart,Baldock, Hart, ...not a bad start , ,(and it's only a start) Melbourne has benefited greatly from Tassie players... Garland and Howe on current list,Brad Green, and many more..Yes , Tassie needs it's own team but why would the other clubs want it considering the abundance of top players they milk from here ?? They don't want to cut off their noses to spite their faces.. GWS doesn't and never will have the local talent that we grow here.. They are just living on imports from other areas.. So too is the Gold Coast.. This topic has been talked about for decades down here but the AFL refuse to accommodate the idea..It seems now they are trying to create some half baked idea to have Tassie more involved without allowing them to have a home grown team...That idea benefits Tassie very little...Suck out all the talent, reap the benefits Tassie offers but stuff giving them their own identity !

I am from Tassie and I am obviously all for it.. lol Call me selfish but if it means saving MFC don't knock it... We are a football State.. there are benefits here.. Ask Hawthorn.....Why would they have to change the name or the emblem. ?? Tasmanians are happy to see the Hawthorn Hawks and the North Melbourne Kangaroos keep their names etc... All Hawthorn has to do to show the Tasmanian connection is display the word Tasmania on the front of their jumper and it's not a very large "emblem". I do think 6 games would be a better number... Boy am I going to cop some shyte on DL over this post....

Embley's act was the most cowardly and dangerous.. Deliberately and forcibly dropping his knees into a player while the player was on the ground.. then pushed his head into the ground.. Was worth at least four weeks... Bloody inconsistent penalties... No justice in the current system.

The point is in 2013 WE have not "got it right" and living in the past will do nothing to get it right..Fark what has happened and move on ..looking behind takes minds off the job ahead ..Get on board or miss the train to future success... I agree with you WYL...Don't need any more BS from people like Stuie...He will always have a "half empty" glass... Say what you like Stuie because nothing you say will bother me. Davey is still there .. wasn't he supposed to have "squibbed" it not so long back and was being hung, drawn and quartered by many DL Members at the time.. Give JT a go.. We could easily single out many similar acts each round if we really wanted to... Some by established , very good contributors... Should we start a "Squib" Club from next week and name them all .. Not just pick on ONE young 7 game "veteran" from the Melbourne Footy Club ?? B)

Have a look at the Hawthorn West Coast replay... Franklin did that at least twice ... Toumpas is young and learning how to handle the big time and as far as I am concerned is learning quickly... I call a "squib" someone who regularly avoids all hard contests and who takes a side step when confronted head on with a contest.. Ducking when a pack is bearing down on your head from behind is NOT being a "squib" as you call it... Give the kid a go.. He WILL make it as will many others in our team whom have been condemned by a number of DL posters. They will improve with more games under their belts.. It started to show on Saturday but don't expect it to happen overnight.. Let's play out the rest of this season and give them a mark out of 10 then.. Whatever the competition on Saturday and no matter how we all rate St. Kilda,, most of our players tried for four quarters and THAT is something we haven't seen before this year .. To me, a baby step in the right direction...

If he was a forward, a lot of his turnovers would not be noticed... The last line of defence is a very difficult place to be in this day and age. I take my hat off to defenders.. Always under the pump and have to be very conscious of where they place their hands when trying to out manouvre their opponent..Give me a forward position any time. Forwards just have to prop and hope their opponent touches a shoulder or brushes an arm. and many times, (a la "whinger" Riewoldt on Saturday,) just have to spread their arms and make a sooky appeal to a vulnerable, incompetent umpire.. , .

They have won only. 2 games .. If we have any ability at all despite our "injuries" we should be highly competitive against them.. They have a few outs as well.. Are we so bad we cannot compete against a team with only one win more than us ?? Err ..maybe yes .. hopefully not..
