  1. I think you and I have shared these views. It's refreshing to hear someone else voice them. There is no accountability. None. Zilch. Zero. I cannot think of another successful or 'ruthless' club that would have accepted 2 straight sets exits after that flag with the list, to then hit the lows of 2024...and yet, in 2025 with 4 games left - he is STILL here.
  2. Yes - if you look at the post I made last year which started this thread, I mentioned Woewodin - seems even more likely from the source I have he will be back in WA. His management expressed disappointment at how often he was played as sub last year which stunted his development. Outside of NM this year, don't think he's played any other games.
  3. Like everyone, I'm a Melbourne diehard - I don't want players of his potential leaving. Simply passing on the intel I have from very reliable sources. Again, like most, I want the most up-to-date info. I've since gone back to the same person in WA and they have re-stated exactly what was said in December.
  4. I'll just leave this here - writing was on the wall last year when I got this mail. Make of this what you will. The fact that with little time left in the year he has decided to put talks on hold seems to me like there is a distinct possibility he is gone.
  5. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/afl/their-strength-has-become-a-liability-the-problem-with-carlton-and-how-to-fix-it-20250703-p5mc4s.html Insert Melbourne instead of Carlton!
  6. Nail. HIT. on. Head
  7. Yes - but good clubs are strong. Make a mistake once - fine. Do it again? We are now going backwards at a rate of knots and with Tasmania coming in soon we are in serious jeopardy of not playing finals for a long time. And again, we are setting up the young players to fail because we have no quality between the age of 23-28.
  8. The reality is, it is completely irrelevant who we play in the run home. He should be judged on our season. Having finished bottom 6 last year, another bottom 6 finish SHOULD see him out the door. So whether we win 5,6,7,8 or 9 games, we will be bottom 6. I am sick of the club accepting mediocrity - they could've sacked him after 2 straights exits, but they didn't. They could've sacked him last year, but told us there was a wide scale review, off field change etc etc...and with 8 weeks to go, we are on 5 wins.
  9. Moving Turner to fwd line was ridiculous. How the f did they sub Johnson out? Have they not heard the saying "the big men don't get any smaller..."?!?! Not only that, Petty went back? FFS Turner has been our best defender in the last 4 weeks...
  10. I would trade Clarry for LJ - both on big money, win win for both clubs as Freo crave a big bodied midfielder. Also means we don't lost Koz, who I'd argue is far more valuable to us than what Clarry is.
  11. The reference to a solid 3rd quarter against a mediocre club like Essendon says it all. What a joke. Brad Green is just as much of the problem - don't let anyone tell you otherwise. CEO or not, this club has needed to remove Goodwin since two straight sets finals exits. We continually do not hold people to account for performance. The same players keep getting games, the same staff keep doing their job poorly. Tim Lamb's record of recruiting players from other clubs outside of May, Lever and Langdon is god awful in the 10 + years he's been at the helm. The sooner someone with any balls on the board can move Goodwin, Richardson and Lamb on, the better.
  12. Just stating the facts. Bickley did not say anywhere anything about Goodwin feeling the pinch or that the situation was dire. Quite the contrary
  13. This is all rubbish. The interview was actually Bickley saying he ran into Goody and that Goody was very confident about things going into the Dons game.
  14. I'd say it is. Johnson 2nd ruck, physical presence and 4 tackles vs Fritsch - dropped marks, missed shots, half arsed tackles. He offers nothing. For someone as 'experienced' as he is, it's an indictment on our selection and effort. Now, we have to put JVR in ruck to relieve Gawn (not ideal - he's been pathetic as well this year) Body of week this season - I know who I'd rather
  15. Playing Bailey Fritsch for 2 weeks in a row now is enough to show me that Goodwin has zero idea when it comes to accountability or credibility. He's omitted Johnson, who has been the only forward playing with intent. JVR couldn't catch a cold at the moment and is extremely lucky to hold his spot. Billings omitted is spot on - but he shouldn't be playing in the first place
  16. I've had a lot to do with him - yes
  17. Yep - that's what I thought. But when you think about it, probably easier to break into Eagles line-up/security going forward? He is a country boy so a move won't affect him, but certainly his life is here atm... Got my fingers and toes crossed!
  18. Just to add to this - he is making the decision today so you would think we will know which way he's gone by close of play today
  19. The reason we took AJ was that we took two mids with our first two picks. Hendo and AJ were basically told of this scenario - that if a tall was taken, Hendo would get picked. Mid picked with 2nd pick, AJ taken. Let's hope we can convince him to join as he has obviously played in the Eagles' praccy... I have messaged him but he is giving me nothing!
  20. I don't disagree, but it means he isn't training - and certainly missing the first part of the season. I'm simply relaying what info I'm getting.
  21. I still maintain the same view/concern about this - the mail I got is still what I've been told. This injury doesn't help :( here's hoping he can be supported and want to stay in Melbourne
  22. Luker Kentfield signed a contract extension at the end of last year. Would be surprised if he isn't on the list...
  23. My source is very reliable, so I do hope I'm wrong but i'll be amazed if there is any news in the next few months re staying.
  24. McVee is out of contract end of 2025. Without being shot down, I have it on pretty good authority that he will be asking to return home/play for West Coast after this contract expires. I would imagine the club will be trying everything they can to retain Judd - given how good he has been in his first two years in the AFL side. FWIW, Woewodin also put feelers out to WA clubs given limited opportunity/setting record for most games as starting sub last year. I hope that both of these don't eventuate and would like to think the large contingent of young WA talent will stick together.
