The live chat thing on the mfc website never works for me (doesn't show my posts). Could someone ask how far off Strauss is?
-
I can only see one ruckman in that team but yes he is useless
-
pretty happy with those inclusions although would have preferred Kent or Strauss to be given a go ahead of Pedersen

He probably said something along those lines at the start and then it was cut out to make Neeld look stressed
-
I think that our game plan is just to complex to the point that it looks like we don't have one. I know everyone hates hearing it but Neeld needs to go right back to the basics - have a simple gameplan (for structures/setups) but when it comes to play it should be man on man when we don't have the ball (not trailing 10m behind the man) and when we do have the ball players should move it quickly. I think this is our biggest down fall - we just don't move the ball quickly and therfore the opposition can set up defensive structures and get numbers back. Recently we have heard all this talk about the coaches needing to show that they trust the players, what better way than to just tell them to play using their instinct when they have the ball. (if we have numbers down the line - go down the line, if we have a man lose in the middle go to him, if one thinks they can take the game on - let them). If it wasn't for this complex gameplan we would not have opposition being 30m in the open. When we have the ball spread/play on/use instinct When we don't have the ball - play man on man

I thought it was quite funny that Matt Thompson and all those reporters traveled to Sorrento just to get 10 sec of footage of Neeld walking away. I wonder if Thompson and the Journos took time to go for a swim and get a tan or they just crouched outside the Demons accommodation 24-7 - (are journos human?)
-
So much for a relaxing get away - looks like going to Sorrento has only made it easier for the press to dig their claws in! http://www.afl.com.au/video/2013-04-10/demons-hit-the-beach-to-avoid-the-heat

I miss Bennell.... had so much skill but just didn't use it - the story of our club Does anyone know how Bennell is tracking with West Coast after that serious injury?

I can't believe the amount of people that are so thrilled to see him go, I don't really know much about Schwab but think that those predicting a sudden change in performance are delusional. I am not really sure what a CEO does but what's their influence on team performance? The only way we would see immediate on-field improvement is if the players have been on strike (deliberately playing badly) which obviously has not been happening for the players would be banned from AFL. I don't think we will see any improvement unless this somehow changes the structure/power at the club (read somewhere recently that the distribution of power at Melbourne was spread too thin)

A few people have put Dunn in for this round but he apparently has a hamstring (can't remember it happening) is still 1-2 weeks away according to the MFC website Round three injury list Chris Dawes (hamstring) – 3-4 weeks Lynden Dunn (hamstring) – 1-2 weeks Jack Fitzpatrick (concussion) – test Joel MacDonald (hamstring) – 1-2 weeks Jordie McKenzie (calf) – test Nathan Stark (knee) – 1-2 weeks

Cheers just found the next 2 weeks.........bummer Saturday April 13 - Williamstown vs Coburg Saturday April 20 - Geelong vs Box Hill Hawks
-
Does anyone know if ABC still televises Saturday games and if so is next weeks game on tv?
-
Until he stops improving - that's funny I can't remember one good/clean disposal he had last night (now I am not saying I don't think he is going to be a great player just he is not ready for AFL)
-
Sorry I meant that some seem to be forgetting that he has had serious leg trouble is it worth throwing him in the deep end. I still look at Watts and think that maybe if we kept him back in VFL for a bit longer he may have been better for it (more aggressive/confident)
-
Endurance is not the only thing that is holding back Gawn from playing AFL You can't just expect a player (especially a ruckmen) to play AFL after only 2 VFL matches in about as many years. I think if he can string together some good games (another 2) then he will at least have confidence in himself (and his body).
-
Don't worry about it, we all knew you would be back. Welcome back - we need to stick together now, if we are to ever improve
-
I was about to argue with you and say that having more than 6 changes would only make us worse but then we can't get any worse so any change is a good thing I guess?
-
I agree with you but it is either that or retain the players from this week (nicholson gilles sellar etc) - it is a no brainier. We need aggression, competitiveness and confidence
-
No way is Gawn going to play AFL next weekend - he is not ready physically/mentally. If he is playing well than that justifies us taking it easy - let him find some form and confidence.
-
What do you mean Sellar took some great contested marks last night? And if he didn't mark it he at least made a contest/got to the ball drop
