I do think its stupid having Watts not playing this week and do agree that he should be playing for Casey - I just think Neeld has tried to field the best team this week and he thinks that means naming Watts as an emergency

The game clashes with the Casey game - it was either he played for Casey or he wasn't an emergency. However there may be a late change. Someone has to cop it - not everyone can and Watts lacks aggression so I am happy with that. Even leaving him out of the side sends a message

I can't help but feel this is a massive game for us! We get thrashed today and the team will have no confidence - the game against GWS means nothing. This is doomsday for MFC - make or break!

Why is it that our first year players come out and tease us with great potential and then never seem to do anything after? I remember Blease had a period last year/or the year before where he was gathering a high number of possessions and really using his speed. As we all know he is not the only one the list goes on - Trengove, Gysberts, Morton, Tynan, Evans and of course he who shall not be named (no longer our problem)

We could kind of change the thread name now to 'optimism only 2.0'

A group of Melbourne fans also gave the team vocal support at Friday morning's training session. It was a pleasant surprise for Neeld and his players, who were booed after the last two losses. Neeld admitted he did not expect such support and called it fantastic. "That was great, the show of support from the fans," Neeld said. Mark Neeld says his players showed "enormous courage" to show up at training after their 148-point loss to Essendon. He should demand nothing less - he should be demanding that they show up to training earlier and work longer/harder!

That was probably due to Jack Grimes new three year contract (hope the players/club repay his faith)

If the Don has been considering/talking about the CEO's position for some time now (as he said in the presser) they should already have an idea of who is out there. I hope we know what we are doing! As for CS I did not see him at training but probably would have gone up to him and given him a pat on the back if I did. I know he is a passionate Dee and tried to do the right thing ..... but it didn't work out and now he has paid the price. I would have said - I hope he sticks around but then the reason we are getting rid of him is because of his haunted shadow......... so do we want him at training?

I have heard multiple times from players that the supporters/crowd at games is a key motivator for them. I can understand that - imagine having 30,000 cheering you after a goal/good play (it really would make you dig that little deeper). I think if we can back up the attendance from training it will be a real motivator for the players. I will be there and if the players show commitment and desire I will be clapping them of the ground no matter what the result. The supporters have shown that they bleed red and blue it is now the time for the players to show it!

Great turnout today - a shame I had to leave early. If there was one thing that Demonland lacks it is the ability to directly upload photos - it is just to time consuming and complicated for many. Anyway great atmosphere and thanks for the people who organized it - i really thought it was a message to the club/players and it proved to me that this is no ordinary club for we have a supporter base that is more passionate than any other club!

I wonder what the odds are on a 60+ point win? Might not be a bad idea considering putting $20 on it if the odds are over $5. If we lose by over that amount its a win $$$$ If we lose by less than that amount it is a win This way we can all walk from the G on Saturday happy
