  1. So in that case we should get rid of Jack Watts now?
  2. I disagree - they have the smarts but just are not using them effectively. As for Strauss, he needs to be given a shot (he did show promise before breaking his leg!). He seems to have performed very well over the last 3 weeks at Casey and I think he will surprise a few. And by smarts I assume you mean ability to make decisions in a game (under pressure) - something that I believe you are not just born with, you can improve that
  3. Then would you like to explain why he is on our list?
  4. I would love for him to have three consecutive good games - imagine what that would do for confidence. And we need confidence!
  5. Not sure he was worth a pick 3 at the time though. I think we could have got away with giving up pick 4 and got Barry as well. Who would have been able to better pick 4? Anyway I am stoked we got him and if was given the option now would defiantly give up pick 3 for him (he is like an agile J Brown).
  6. I wonder if that was one of the reasons we allegedly payed overs for him - We knew the kind of benefits of having a draftee a year earlier? (Viney)
  7. I thought the Essendon were supposed to be one of the good VFL teams?
  8. Yes - Whos on top now: Hulky Hogan vs the skinny giant
  9. Who?? nah just kidding but seriously the days/memory of 'Fitzroy' and 'South Melbourne' are extinct to today's younger generations. I don't want Melbourne to vanish into unread History books.
  10. Great - I have been waiting for Strauss to start dominating VFL. He had a good game last week and if he has a good game today I think that will put him in the mix for next week. Although I would like him to show good form in VFL next week as well (3 weeks in a row) before giving him a shot in AFL. I think consistency will have a big impact on his confidence. There is always a place for a player with a good kick in our team.
  11. That would be greatly appreciated. See if you can spot this so called deficiency of Kents (defensive work)
  12. I am no longer going to waste my time refreshing this page - is that it? The MFC does not want to let anything else slip? Whats next? - the players will be posting sex tapes online (if only we were in Hollywood we would be huge - any fame is good fame)
  13. Yes I know but the question is if the MFC had an internal investigation and found this all out why was Dr. Bates still at the MFC?
  14. Club statement: Friday, 19 April By melbournefc.com.auExclusive to melbournefc.com.au 8:50pm AEST Friday, April 19, 2013 THE MELBOURNE Football Club today accepted an offer by Club doctor Dan Bates to stand aside, effective immediately, pending the outcome of an investigation by ASADA and the AFL into a pre-season supplements program at the Club. MFC President Don McLardy said that the Club felt it was appropriate that Dr Bates stand aside while the details of the program and the circumstances under which it was administered are independently reviewed. "We have sufficient concerns about an identified breakdown in reporting protocols that we believe it is appropriate that Dr Bates stands aside until these matters are further investigated," McLardy said. Immediately following the announcement of the Essendon investigation in February, the MFC board commenced an internal review into supplements, headed by a suitably qualified director. That review involved numerous interviews, including three with Club doctor, Dr Dan Bates. To date, the internal review has found no evidence that the supplements program at the Club contravened any ASADA or WADA guidelines, and no evidence that any player has been administered a banned substance at any time. The Club is fully committed to cooperating with both ASADA and the AFL, as part of their ongoing investigation. The Club is unable to comment further until the investigation is complete.
  15. I agree, Neeld did say at the start of the season that Viney and Toumpas would be taken slow and that he was not expecting big things from them. If that means giving viney a rest ever month (4 games) then thats fine with me. Lets try and build these players for the future - maybe that was the problem with Trengove and Scully. We were working them so hard that they couldn't improve (like when you study for so long without a break that you are no longer learning anything)
  16. Who says we need a siren - lets march onto the MCG now (meet you there in 15 min)
  17. No, Geelong vs Box Hill
  18. It could have been you Gys .... berts!
  19. Wow now thats an exciting game - I wish Neeld was watching (in one quarter they have both scored what we generally score in a whole game)
  20. Apparently they are handing out free substances as well (have to get rid of them somehow - maybe Dank might be there giving autographs). ..... Seriously I am sensing that there are not going to be to many there - probably like 13,000 (good time to have a kick on the MCG)
  21. My bad - I thought those texts made reference to Mission and or Craig. As for Trengove I was more making the point that do you think any of our players/staff would go behind the clubs back? (with regards to Dank/substances)
  22. I don't think anyone can jump to conclusions because we know little but if we accept that ABC's report has truth behind it then our communication with Dank ended the day Essendon went public. I think that the major tanking investigation was just coming to a close - to what extent would our club go to stay out of the press? (even if their association with Dank was legal)
  23. What has Bates got to benefit from making players take substances - the chance to lose job and go to court etc? Your saying the club was unaware of any form of contact with Dank - I think that's impossible. Your saying one of our captains, a number of players and staff (Bates+mission+?) did this behind the clubs back?
  24. That was a loaded gun waiting to be triggered.
  25. The AFL haven't even scratched the surface - if you think an interim CEO is the answer your wrong. The Schwabb issue was not a split second decision - the MFC should have landed a permanent CEO by now - and the AFL needs to take charge and clean out all the people who are holding the MFC under water.
