11 games is an awesome effort. I live in Sydney and try and get to 4-5 home games each year and attend when we play in Sydney. I think you’ll find some people (regardless of who they support) bought premium memberships purely for the GF access. My wife and I (both Redlegs) will both be there Saturday night and we’re taking 4 guests. Part of me misses living in Melbourne and going all the time.

Patrick Cripps FREE to play
Bombay Airconditioning replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think he’ll get one. Not based on any logic other than the AFL will want to be seen to be doing something but they also want him there for rd 23 when Carlton plays the Pies. -
If I was Sydney I’d tell Buddy to go. You've got Amartey and Logan McDonald plus another 1-2 years out of Reid. Buddy has already made 10 million plus from footy, but clearly that’s not enough. So along with his wife tell the club he wants more money, than he’s leaving, now makes out he’s the bigger man and is putting talks on hold. Comical at best. Id be using the money to secure all of their young talent. As good as Buddy has been it’s time to move on.

From a selfish point of view let’s keep as depth, but why would he want to stay when he could play in the seniors.
-
Throw in Thommo.
-
The lions can win by 150 points today but it won’t mean a thing come finals. Big time pretenders.
-
And what about their backline.
-
I’d happily throw in Tomlinson if it meant securing Naughton.

Demons will win the flag in 2022.

Finals are another level again, we now know what it takes and that could be the difference. Look at a team like Brisbane, enough said. -

I’m tired of hearing “we’ve been worked out”, the biggest game in the country that has a stat for just about everything, opposition coaches who’s sole purpose is to analyse other teams and their game plan/s & tactics. Numerous tv shows that have former players and so called media experts that break down passages of play frame by frame. Clubs know what to expect from other clubs, being able to play to your strengths and nullify your opponents for longer is what it comes down to. Injuries, umpires & the bounce of the ball are just part of the game we love. You could also mount a case for our travel the breaks in between games compared to other top 8 sides. Apparently we also can’t win it because of our record against other top 8 sides this season. There was a post on FB yesterday detailing 5 of our 6 losses. Freo : lead by 30, lost by 38 Swans : lead by 26, lost by 12 Pies : less by 22, lost by 26 Dogs : lead by 27, lost by 10 Pies lead by 23, lost by 7 We also lost to Geelong by 28 at their home ground, early in the last if Kozi kicks straight scores are level. Geelong kicked a couple of late goals to flatter the scoreboard but we were largely competitive. It was Gawn’s first game back after missing a couple and didn’t take a mark, LJ missed the week before (can’t remember why). Even after conceding 96 points against the Pies and 110 against the Dogs two weeks earlier were still the no.1 ranked defensive side in the competition. We can still finish top 4 and from there anything can happen. We need to tidy up our entries inside forward fifty, at times throughout games it looks as though we have but then we revert back to bombing it in, opposition pressure plays it part. Our set shots cost us on Friday night, a number of very gettable shots were missed, as already mentioned on the post game thread we had 24 more inside fwd 50 than the Pies. But our pressure and fwd smarts (small fwds flying for marks when we already have a player in that contest than no one at ground level) has dropped right of allowing the Pies to rebound at ease. Finally the Dogs and Pies disposal whether by hand or foot was fast, low and direct. Both games were fast paced and finals like, our lob handballs and up and under kicks plays into the hands of the opposition giving them time to regroup and then apply tackling pressure. We can still go back to back and I believe we will. -

Two weeks ago we lose by 10 to the Dogs, last week we destroy Freo on their home deck, Freo currently up by 23 at 1/2 time against the Dogs. We lost by seven points last night to a red hot Pies. If we win our next two games we still finish top 4 and from there anything is possible. -
GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
My work hours vary each day depending on the job, so I’ve taken today off just to be sure I’m hone in time…. -
I’m in a bet with mates group, we always bet head to head anywhere from 3-5 games a week. There’s been at least one major upset 15 out of the 20 rounds played this season.
-
Honestly what’s he worth?
-
Comical at best, Lions are cooked as per their efforts in big games during this season and the last 3 finals series. I hope the Lions are stupid enough to take him.
-
Logan McDonald from Sydney. (Another kid from WA). Has shown he can play but currently out of the side for Amartey, Reid’s in good form and Buddy is apparently going around again.
-
I’m flying down with the wife next weekend for the Carlton game, already organised 4 guest passes, back to back massive crowds.
-
So for all of Brisbane’s dominance over the likes of North and the Eagles, they show again why they are overrated 2021 QF Dees beat Lions SF Dogs beat Lions 2020 QF Lions beat Tigers PF Cats beat Lions 2019 QF Tigers beat Lions SF GWS beat Lions That’s 1 out of 6 finals with Fagan as coach and large majority of current list. Then this year they’ve lost to Cats Hawks Freo Dees Bombers Only beat Pies by 7 and Giants by 14. Yes they best Sydney earlier in the year but the Swans are now in red hot form. Could be looking at an early exit from this years finals, but they’ll still be everyone’s 2nd team.
-
They can’t win, neither can Flagmantle. It’s out of the current top 4.
-
Tigers to win next 3. Blues making the 8 comes down to them beating the Pies rd 23.
-
Random thought…. Blues don’t make the 8 (even if they win tonight). Lions @ Gabba Dees @ MCG Pies @ MCG

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Take your first choice two key forwards out of other top 8 sides and see how they would stack up. Set the tone early and carried it right through the game. Before the game Dees 128.8 Freo 119.7 After the game Dees 131.6 Freo 114.9 Freo could be as low as 7th if Carlton and Sydney win. -
Dees Port Swans Hawks Dogs (more out of hope) Blues Tigers Bombers
