I thought due to the horses ability it gave itself every chance of winning even though it probably covered more turf than any other.

Unlucky, caught 3 wide the whole trip. Not a good ride by the jock. Jumped well and didn't push on to sit outside leader, tried to take it back and slot in but was caught in no mans land.
-
Lol I just realised it's in one of our races.
-
Yeah he was in there somewhere, he said it was a big win. Happy days at Randwick for connections and it's still a colt....
-
It was $201 for the Slipper prior to its Pierro Plate win a fortnight ago. PL kicking in as I didn't put a dollar on it at those odds. Not saying it will win but it might have been a decent cash out offer.
-
Phew!!! Showed some guts and hopefully it improves some more going forward.
-
Yeah, I was staggered when I saw that, I was trying to be nice about it in the earlier post. It was even more staggering that the commentators thought it was a brilliant play. That was a classic example of nearly costing a team the game.

Best Value: Flemington Race 7 No.4 Levendi $18.00W $5.20P No.16 Bring Me Roses $18.00 $5.20P Both horses ran well first up and although it's a very tricky race the odds are appealing. I looked outside the fancied runners and the above offer terrific value. They both seem to like the track. Good luck all!

Indeed, March 2nd is way too early for palpitations.

I'm making Alizee my "Best". Will nominate a couple of roughies after further studying.

Can some please explain the rules in a ruck contest? Frederick-Traub clearly pushed the Melbourne player out of the way in the goal square prior to kicking the goal late in the last. My understanding is, pushing, blocking, bumping, is classed as prohibited contact when contesting a bounce/throw up/boundary throw in. Was the call of play on a correct one?

Lol Wadda, it was certainly hard work at the pub last Saturday. The left eye was focused on the racing, right eye on the footy and fingers were in charge of Demonland. Looking forward to tomorrow. We'll see if Santos is a serious player heading into the Golden Slipper.
-
Done deal Wadda. That one will go on regardless of additional selections. Now that it's been posted we don't want to feel the dreaded "PL".
-
Untried in the wet Wadda. The weather is predicting sun for Fri and Sat up there. I'll have some more info soon hopefully. I agree with you, best to get in early with the current odds. Edit: Santos did win a trial on a slow5 back in Jan. Mate says there's no rain up there.
-
All of us here have them that high. No? They are everyone's "second" team after all.
-
I wasn't going to make Santos my best Wadda, not saying he can't win. If someone else wants to declare him, all good. I think he can win, I'm just waiting for the "word" from Sydney. I have a feeling the $2.10 will get a beating due to his last run. Alizee stands out to me at the moment but also short at $2.15. I'll probably wait until Saturday morning for scratchings/state of track. Edit: Santos had a cracking trial/gallop last Saturday so he's as ready as ever. If he repeats his last run he will be extremely hard to toss.

Demonland Podcast: LIVE Wednesday 28/2 @ 8:30pm
Dee Zephyr replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great job again guys and thanks for the insight @Drunkn167. Much appreciated. -
There were a number of impressive performances first-up but I was pleased with the confidence OMac displayed. Great body work one on one, he read the play well, excellent by foot and looks to have added some size and strength. It was only the one game and we shouldn't get carried away as we will face more dynamic centre and forward lines but having Lever next to him will aid this kid in becoming a very solid KPD.
-
@Fat Tony on Friday. "The Age reporting Ablett has hamstring tightness upon hearing the news Jack will be right for Round 1." It wasn't really a joke, was it?
-
Spot on Macca, I tuned in to watch both races and the winners would just not give in. I didn't have anything going but was cheering for you and Wadda. Until next week.

Out of the last 6 quarters of football we have been kept goalless for 3 of them.

Post Match Discussion: JLT #1 vs North Melbourne
Dee Zephyr replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Seriously? Get over it, he was good by foot today. It's not easy playing last line of defence and he won't win every contest. Most of us would like to see Frost in the team but the fact they chose OMac in the first JLT speaks volumes. Give the kid a break!!!- 298 replies

One of the highlights has been Salem's use of the ball.

Made a mess of them, in the end Oohood paid $3.00 the place and Written By $5.40 on the tote. Comprehensive win!
