Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 1
Dee Zephyr replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
It doesn’t matter which player takes the task on Hawkins if we allow teams to rebound easily and score out the back. We don’t want to see a Jetta or Vince type left 1 out with opposition talls like we did last year. If you listened to the Demonland podcast a few weeks ago when @Drunkn167 was a special guest, he stated that OMac possesses a lot of body strength, might have even stated he’s one of the strongest that Dec has competed against at training. -
As stated above, tough day coming up. Best Bet: Rosehill Race 3 No. 6 Alward. $3.80 Each Way Best: Rosehill R8 No.5 English. Good luck to Santos today, not often do you find a close mate having a runner in the Slipper. Happy punting fellow Demonlanders!

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 1

Goodwin stated he will field the fittest 22 and judging by all the training reports over the summer Bugg was labelled as the fittest player, yet he misses out. That’s probably more a case of being down the pecking order behind, Fritch, Hannan, ANB and Melksham. In regards to Brayshaw, is it as simple as his mouth/teeth issue the reason for naming him as an emergency? Why not name him and if it’s still a problem on Sunday just withdraw him. Is Tyson really underdone? He’s had a full summer until the calf niggle, missed a couple of weeks and has played well in two consecutive weeks since. Lewis has played one quarter of football in the pre season. Maynard before Tyson is perplexing. -
I tuned in to watch the William Reid only out of interest. Good price for Hellbent Macca, sooner or later it was going to produce its customary finishing burst and beat them home. I was surprised with the F4 dividend. Catchy ran a great race, it looked like the horse was going backwards prior to the final turn. I just finished a phone conversation with my mate, he’s so pumped about tomorrow he won’t be able to sleep. Barrier 7 for Gai’s 7th Slipper??? I hope it salutes for the sole fact of seeing him on the TV carrying on like a looney. He thinks Sunlight and Written By are special horses and they hope Santos jumps well and settles into the first few or so.

Sunday can’t come quick enough!

There’s nothing like a bit of Weid late at night and first thing in the morning, could be a simple case of still being a bit green.

Yeah body blow Wadda, just so we don’t derail the thread the bolded above was a very good horse.

The number of emergencies has increased to 4 this season. -
I noted their “Best” for the weekend. 5 horses adds up to around $123 for the multi. Worth a fiver Macca? Agree with you on Gator, I’ve always enjoyed listening to him.
-
Edit to the post above @Wadda We Sing As I was submitting the above reply, Get On showed JJ’s best bets for Morphetville. Race 2 #5 Sagaab $2.70W Tab Race 9 #7 Manuel $2.70W Tab
-
Lol, that’s all I felt like doing after hearing the news about TMac/Viney today. Get On is on now and I just flicked over, only 15 minutes left though, haven’t spotted the Guru yet.

Grey tinged with blue SWYL? Odd design, patches on the back?

Who washed Carlton’s shorts?

Agree Macca, I have found it extremely tough to find something that jumps out. Currently I’m thinking Alward at $3.40 ( Rosehill R3 No.6), will wait to see how the track plays out as it’s only placed 1 of 6 on soft tracks. @Wadda We Sing I’ve sobered up now, I can’t see Winx losing. Kementari should run second. No shame in running second to Winx and picking up close to 200k as Macca stated above.

Just cheer for the guys in your fantasy teams.

Bernie had a ripper pre season. He’s usually good for one brain fade a game but he’s one of our better ball users and his experience will be crucial. -
Ha Ha, she’s only the best horse in the world and there’s me tipping against her. There’s been some wild predictions on footy by all these geniuses in the media I thought I’d trump them.
-
It’s that time of the year where the footy is upon us, everyone is making “Big Calls” and I’m throwing a wild one out there. Kementari to beat Winx by a long neck.

2018 Demonland Footy Tipping Competition
Dee Zephyr replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
In as Demon77 -
B: Jetta OMac Hibberd HB: Hunt Lever Lewis C: Harmes Oliver Jones HF: Melksham Petracca ANB F: Garlett Hogan Hannan R: Gawn Tyson Salem IC: Vince, Bugg, Brayshaw, Pedersen Emerg: Fritsch, Wagner, Frost, Stretch. Found it hard to split Bugg and Fritsch for the last spot and just a gut feel that Fritsch will be most unlucky.

Out of all the headlines the AFL site could run with for the “Pick A Winner” segment going into R1, they conveniently chose the following. http://www.afl.com.au/video/2018-03-21/carey-dees-arent-a-united-team Our preview is about 10 minutes in if any one really gives a ......! Apologies if already posted elsewhere. -
2018 Ladder Prediction Competition

When are you revealing the middle 6 ET? -
Not sure we should be questioning Garlett’s work rate. He worked extremely hard last summer to have a better year than 2016. He was the number 1 ranked forward for pressure in the first half of the year and his defensive pressure was first class. The 42 goals were an absolute bonus last season. He had some quite moments later in the year but had to deal with some family issues. IMO we need his craft and he’s a certain starter if fully fit.

Are we going to make finals soon?
