  1. Best Bet: Randwick 2 No.1 Holy Snow $4.00 Running really well in strong company. Looked the winner last start until Unforgotten came from the clouds to nose it out. Flew home behind Grunt two starts ago at odds.
  2. I’m almost tempted to make that my Best Macca but must respect the class of Redzel. I honestly believe ‘Brave Smash’ can win for the reason you pointed out above. Like your selections up the top also and might be worth following ‘Lite’N In My Veins’ in the Golden Mile at Bendigo. Horse is in great form and I’ve seen as much as $8.50 fixed.
  3. He ran a respectable 6th DJ. First run in 70 days.
  4. @Macca Looks like two “Best Bets” today. Around $8 for the multi. Not bad for two legs.
  5. It usually means bred overseas. Going back about 10-20 years Australia/NZ bred top stayers but the lack of decent staying races in conjunction with the amount of time it took from foal to ready for racing was too long. People want quick returns, hence owners investing in two year olds because they can race when they are two years of age. Some of the top trainer/owners would invest in overseas stayers and bring them to race here as ready made gallopers, i.e Waterhouse with Fiorente. Thats my understing anyway fellas. Edit: Overseas trainers were bringing quality stayers to race here in the Melbourne Cup especially in the last 5-10 years as Macca stated above. Aussie trainers took a backstep and it was almost a case of, if you can’t beat them, join them.
  6. Dan Zephyr is running in the last at Caulfield today. I had no idea until I went through the fields again. Can’t see him winning or even placing to be honest. Change of trainer in the last few months but I see they stuck with their favourite jockey. Good luck to the old boy!
  7. Best Bet: Rosehill R9 No.5 Osborne Bulls. Currently a $3 chance with TAB. Finished off really well last start after being luckless for most part of the straight and should be too good for this lot. Edit: Ken’s Dream is terrific value at $6 in Race 8 at Caulfield. If they are running on, it could be worth a few bucks.
  8. Shame about Santos, just like Ace High he was stuck 3 wide the trip. You need to be exceptional to win under those circumstances in the wet. I almost got the first 4, the only piece missing was the winner. Well done to the winner!!
  9. Bugger, Alward chased valiantly but found one better.
  10. So JJ gives two tips for the race and runs the quinella....legend!!!
  11. As stated above, tough day coming up. Best Bet: Rosehill Race 3 No. 6 Alward. $3.80 Each Way Best: Rosehill R8 No.5 English. Good luck to Santos today, not often do you find a close mate having a runner in the Slipper. Happy punting fellow Demonlanders!
  12. I tuned in to watch the William Reid only out of interest. Good price for Hellbent Macca, sooner or later it was going to produce its customary finishing burst and beat them home. I was surprised with the F4 dividend. Catchy ran a great race, it looked like the horse was going backwards prior to the final turn. I just finished a phone conversation with my mate, he’s so pumped about tomorrow he won’t be able to sleep. Barrier 7 for Gai’s 7th Slipper??? I hope it salutes for the sole fact of seeing him on the TV carrying on like a looney. He thinks Sunlight and Written By are special horses and they hope Santos jumps well and settles into the first few or so.
  13. There’s nothing like a bit of Weid late at night and first thing in the morning, could be a simple case of still being a bit green.
  14. Yeah body blow Wadda, just so we don’t derail the thread the bolded above was a very good horse.
  15. I noted their “Best” for the weekend. 5 horses adds up to around $123 for the multi. Worth a fiver Macca? Agree with you on Gator, I’ve always enjoyed listening to him.
  16. Edit to the post above @Wadda We Sing As I was submitting the above reply, Get On showed JJ’s best bets for Morphetville. Race 2 #5 Sagaab $2.70W Tab Race 9 #7 Manuel $2.70W Tab
  17. Lol, that’s all I felt like doing after hearing the news about TMac/Viney today. Get On is on now and I just flicked over, only 15 minutes left though, haven’t spotted the Guru yet.
  18. Agree Macca, I have found it extremely tough to find something that jumps out. Currently I’m thinking Alward at $3.40 ( Rosehill R3 No.6), will wait to see how the track plays out as it’s only placed 1 of 6 on soft tracks. @Wadda We Sing I’ve sobered up now, I can’t see Winx losing. Kementari should run second. No shame in running second to Winx and picking up close to 200k as Macca stated above.
  19. Ha Ha, she’s only the best horse in the world and there’s me tipping against her. There’s been some wild predictions on footy by all these geniuses in the media I thought I’d trump them.
  20. It’s that time of the year where the footy is upon us, everyone is making “Big Calls” and I’m throwing a wild one out there. Kementari to beat Winx by a long neck.
  21. Classic pic Macca, you’re right, no need to say anything else. Poor old Tom, I had no idea that occurred.
  22. Ray Thomas (Racing Editor Daily Telegraph) was on SEN a short time ago and provided an update on the latest racing news. - Hugh Bowman cleared to ride Winx and Performer on Saturday. - Performer was cleared to run in the Slipper after being required to participate in a barrier trial last Friday. It was an impressive trial with the blinkers on. Hopefully no more Nutbush moves from the horse. - A very even bunch of juveniles competing in the Slipper this year in his opinion. Barrier draw is tomorrow. - Still unclear if Waller will head to Royal Ascot with Winx. The most bizarre news involved the grand old campaigner Chautauqua. The horse refused to jump out of the barriers today in a barrier trial for the fourth consecutive time. In trackwork the horse is running fast times but refuses to jump in trials. Future up in the air.
  23. Heading out fellas, been fun again, go Despatch and go the Dees!!!!
  24. Stiff, I took it in a multi with Despatch, oh well.
  25. Time for some research Macca. Wondering if he’s on SA radio at all. I shouldn’t laugh but if there was a certainty today, that was it!!
