  1. Can’t argue with that DD. Carry on.
  2. Come on fellas, this is a thread about the omission of JW, not about Demonlanders “dropping” one another.
  3. Cool...Best Bets continue. The World Cup will give us plenty of practise with staying up late for the UK races.
  4. Well....Doggies applied better pressure in their forward half that quarter and caused some turnovers from Port defenders. Port did get a couple of cheap goals against the grain though.
  5. Going early fellas. Number 2 Religify. TAB Odds: $7.50/$2.50 A work colleague knows the horse well through connections and was told the horse trialled really well last week. Tough on pacer and the tight Ipswich circuit will suit the horse. If the horse can cross without doing too much from the wide barrier it could be very hard for them to catch him. If he does do some work early the horse is still capable of hanging onto a placing. Also happy to have 2 more runs with the trifectas and then hitting the paddock for a while. Do we still continue with the “Best Bets” Macca?
  6. Can only go by what I have seen on him at Casey and I can’t see that he will get a game this year unless we have some injuries up forward ( knocks on wood). He seems smart around goals and gets into good positions. Maybe the one year contract is based more on development like you said and easing into our system rather than the club expecting him to play several games in the AFL. It’s only an opinion and certainly wouldn’t be disappointed if he gets a game soon. Hope it works out for him.
  7. I’m leaning towards the Eye Liner Stakes Macca. Might seem a trickier race than the other 2 but there are some horses that I think are terrific value.
  8. Wonderful insight and a fantastic interview. Loved every minute of it, one of the things that stood out were the comments about Grimes and Trengove. High praise for both of them even though it didn’t work out in the end for both of them. “Lunacy” used to describe their appointment as co-captains at such a young age.
  9. Seriously...do you want a bozo badge? You were one of the most vocal during the trade period with your repetitive posting about how useless he is. I notice you only jump on here with constant negativity. Good for you for feeling vindicated. They guy has left the MFC but you wait for moments like this to gloat. Well done.
  10. Cheers. Enjoy it DJ. Hopefully the tournament produces some great contests. Did you try the souvlaki from Plaka during your time over there?
  11. Watching near the fence behind Punt Rd goals the bolded bit stuck out the most. Collingwood did it well and we took no risk in trying to open it up. Carbon copy of the Hawks and Tigers games yet it seemed we went in with no counter plan. On the other hand we were all at sea when Collingwood started their forward forays from defence. I thought we would have sorted it out already after the early losses.
  12. Can you imagine the off season on here if it happens? Wasn’t North 10-0 a few years back and nearly missed?
  13. Rating: 7/10. Failed twice on the big stage this year but the wins have been very good, something we couldn’t do last year was killing teams off. Most Impressive: T Mac. Thought he was a good forward last year but has gone to a whole new level which I wasn’t expecting after missing 5-6 weeks with injury. Incredible numbers. Draftee with Biggest Impact: Lever. Does he count as a draftee? The backline got rolling when he did and he’s just a competitive beast. Best Win: Adelaide. Four quarters of pure pleasure. Players that need to improve: Petracca and Viney. Most disappointing performance: Collingwood for me. Massive stage and failed again. The games against Hawks and Tigers should have taught us a few things about not having the game played on our terms. I saw nothing yesterday to stem the flow. Are the days of throwing a Garry Lyon in the centre to change momentum gone? Anything would have done yesterday, Lewis with his experience to the middle for centre bounces to try and nullify some of the dominance by Collingwood mids. Trac loose man in the back for a while, Bernie to half forward so he can spot someone up. Even Pedersen to crash into Cox with Smith going forward to use his leap and try and mark the ball. Something...anything. Win/Loss : 14-8 Wherever that gets us, 4th-6th?
  14. Slight change of topic. Casey has another bye this weekend, didn’t they have one a few weeks ago? Does the VFL schedule their byes to coincide with the AFL side? That makes Garlett and Stretch without a competitive game for nearly 3 weeks by the time the Port game comes around.
  15. Something has to give unfortunately. I can’t see anyone omitted from the midfield even though they were poor yesterday. There might be a change in the defence but it was hardly their fault yesterday. Was that the highest inside 50 count against us this season? I was disappointed at the easy goals the Pies got starting from deep in their defence. Perfect example was the goal with what was it? 30 seconds to go until the 3 quarter time siren and they had the ball in their back pocket Punt Rd end and went all the way with 3-4 kicks. Bugg might be a more miss than hit with his kicking but does work his butt off defensively and finds himself in good spots more often than not. It’s only a suggestion which of course will end up way off the mark as usual.
  16. In: Bugg, Weideman, Garlett. Out: Hannan, Pedersen, Spargo (reluctantly)
  17. Yep, I’m done too.....with this thread! Lewis was the least of our worries yesterday. This is heading down the same path as the thread titled “Lewis Broken Hand”. Some absolute carp on that and this isn’t far off.
  18. Put Gus in the guts. Sitting on the wing all game.
  19. They haven’t planned this well. Slide time at 2pm and gates open at 1.30. Lines are building big time. Whinge over!
  20. Viney has just been warming up in his first 3 games back. He wasn’t there R23 last year and can only imagine how pi$$ed off he was watching from the sidelines that day. Predicting a “Best On” performance today and hopefully seeing Neale hand him the trophy post match.
  21. ‘Wire to Wire’ for Justify @Macca. Way too classy for them in the end although the second placed horse ‘Gronkowski’ chased valiantly. Great effort by the trainer....2 Triple Crowns in the last 4 years.
  22. That was priceless! How on earth did they manage that?
  23. Are these the votes according to the VFL website under BST?
