I might be playing it safe but Oregon’s Day is my selection. Untried at the 2000m but after watching her last start win it suggests the extra 200 shouldn’t be an issue. Terrific win pulling away impressively late. Looking at all her form, the mare seems quite versatile in regards to settling positions and from barrier 2 J Byrne shouldn’t have an issue gaining a good position from the jump.

Likes the track and distance , goes very well on the soft and even if it dries out, the horse has won half his starts on a good track. Interestingly, Udyta Clarke resisted running in the G1 Goodwood this weekend and opted for Flemington. Clarke stated she didn’t want to draw barrier 1,2 or 3 down the straight but I’m willing to put my JJ hat on and back what I feel is a classy horse.
