Monkey Business
No disrespect intended @Macca. I often watch highlights of all leagues in my spare time during the week as I enjoy the sport punt or no punt. My reaction was to do with the content and the chances Napoli missed, that’s football though. My pick was no good, I’m actually quite interested to see the stats/record of the top teams in their domestic leagues on the weekend following midweek Champions League/Europa League/Domestic cups. The schedule seems quite daunting sometimes.

AFLW: The Farce of the Conference System
Daisy was spot on with her ‘gimmicky tournament’ comment all those months ago. The season should have been extended after the introduction of two new teams. Everyone plays each other once and be done. Can’t imagine what will happen next year when more teams come in. The AFLW doesn’t need to compete with the mens game, it needs to become the most popular female competition in the country and this isn’t the way the AFL should be going about growing the game in my opinion. The players sacrifice a lot for a 7 week season in the hottest month of the year. Our Demons have been very enjoyable to watch this season, probably more so than the previous two and we as fans should be peeved if we miss finals due to this botched system.

A Day at the Races
Cheers @Macca @Wadda We Sing for the reports. I only watched our 3BBs races on the phone yesterday and heard the Winx race whilst on the road. Managed to finish slightly in front for the day thanks to Amphitrite.

Sam Weideman + contract
Personally, I don’t read too much into that. It gets mentioned a lot on here about Jesse’s stats last season against the ‘top’ sides. Although they don’t read too well it’s a very small sample size in my opinion. We won more games than we lost in 2017 when Max was out with his 9-10 week hammie pop. We are quick to forget Hogan kicked 85 goals in 2015-16 in a team that didn’t make finals and won 17 games combined. The Weid replaced him after our terrible loss to Sydney late in the year and the team caught fire for a few weeks. We can’t possibly say how Hogan would’ve performed had he not got injured. I believe Weid has the attributes to become a very good footballer for the MFC. Great mark, good kick, strong and will only get stronger and many of us were absolutely thrilled at some of his performances late on. Long may it continue.

Lol at some of the comments in the clip. Some never miss a chance to pay out on Ablett. I do like the one about looking for a cheapie over the top rather than providing a shepherd for Danger. Scary to think what Weid may become.

A Day at the Races
I’m happy to continue with BBs, not sure how many blackbookers I can find unless I find time to watch a heap of replays. Was tuning on and off yesterday. Saturdays will be hectic from now on, I was all at sea yesterday with the wife looking for some day release. Happy to keep reading any info provided by members on here.

A Day at the Races
A work mate has a connection with the runner-up ‘News Girl’ , she’s ran terrific in both defeats to ‘ Crack The Code’, trained from Albury way. Might pay to watch her as well in something easier although you could say she handled this type of class extremely well.

A Day at the Races
Haha, like the names. I’m no good under pressure Macca, it was tough finding a standout for today to be honest. To at least stay consistent, El has drawn the widest barrier (again) tomorrow at Sale.

A Day at the Races
Unlucky Macca, thought Pissaro ran really well, he was cruising at the turn and had most chasing hard.

A Day at the Races
Haha, applies to a few of us I’d say wadda. Talked to mate about the situation and it was interesting to hear some opinions from owners. Looks like Waller ended up with a couple of top ten draft picks above.

The Soccer thread
Well, some interesting results in the EPL midweek. Late Llorente magic completes Spurs’ comeback, Leicester being the pesky side they are holding Liverpool to a point at Anfield, Man City ruing a loss at Tyneside, Man U using a get out of jail free card late on for a point at home and what can you say about Chelsea.....4 second half goals to Bournemouth. This isn’t over by a long shot.

A Day at the Races
What a mess! Seems like dd above was on the money, ongoing investigations for a while from what I have read. It makes me feel for the smaller trainers even more now, the ones that do the right thing and yet they are forced to quit the game or move their base to some location you’ve never heard of just to maintain the business most likely unsuccessfully as well. When I say small I mean a trainer that has a handful of horses in a stable. How can you compete with a trainer that has up to 4-5 horses in a race sometimes? I remember trainers getting sick of Waller in Sydney a couple of years ago, it was like spot the non-Waller horse in the field. Here’s a question i heard on the radio. How many punters say at Mornington today would have thought twice about having a bet? Not many probably is my guess. It would be great if they cleaned all this out, but how do you do that? There’s corruption in just about every sport and banning wagering like I heard on the radio today won’t fix the problem.
