  1. From what I saw the other day he just finishes earlier than the others but when he does train he fully participates, so I would guess that round 1 is very much in his sights.
  2. He'll probably make more money at Sorrento.
  3. My tongue was in my cheek then, but also I never said we "have no good players apart from Jones".
  4. Does this back up my assessment from watching the three minute training video?
  5. He works very hard which is evident in his training and is a credit to him (and makes him stand out at training). I just don't see that hard work transitioning to damaging football.
  6. I never said "he can't kick". In fact, I said he is a "neat kick", which he is. The point is, with that action he lacks penetration and as an outside midfielder we need players who can kick with penetration.
  7. Fitzpatrick might be 98 kilograms but he is still too skinny. James Strauss rarely missed targets at training either, becuase of his lean-back action Toumpas' kicking lacks penetration which in the long run will hold him back. He is a neat kick I agree, but he is a massive concern based on the complete package. What type of player is he?
  8. I noticed Michie once, but that doesn't mean much because he's just that type of player and I was probably looking in the other direction every time he did something.
  9. Fitzpatrick is still far too skinny and awkward to play as a key forward, Dawes consistently outmuscled him (however he too struggled with his marks). What concerned me was still the training of kicking the ball sideways. Yes, there is a time and place but our forwards are going to struggle if Melbourne consistently move to ball forwards too slowly (as we have for the past seven years). Having said all that, the positive from this was the composure showed by Grimes off half-back. I've spoken a lot about Toumpas, but he really needs to show something because I just can't see a spot for him. Interestingly, while watching on the sidelines Terlich seemed to make mention of Toumpas' lean-back kicking action which has concerned me from the start. Oscar McDonald has a red hot go too, and while he will take a while to physically develop, the early signs for him are positive.
  10. Overall, it wasn't the most taxing session which is understandable after the camp. The rain didn't help, but all in all the skills were quite poor I thought. It's hard to judge individuals too much but I did like the look of Newton, Salem and Jetta as a whole. Hogan's awkward kicking action is still awkward but as others have mentioned he's a competitive beast. I'm struggling to see where Toumpas fits in the team, what type of player is he?
  11. Lovely helicopter pass on to the chest of an opponent by Tom McDonald.
  12. Nothing new, but Dunn really is vocal and looks much stronger than before.
  13. I'll probably be going out on a limb here, but Tyson could be a player.
  14. Rain has seen the skills drop quite a bit, Watts' hands not great in the wet. Brayshaw a beautiful kick for goal. Petracca certainly has the size but his kicking needs work. JKH is kicking well and running hard. Toumpas moves his legs quickly but doesn't move very fast. Can see why people like the look of Newton.
  15. I think the rumour about Howe doing a hammy is true.
  16. Stop derailing the thread by posting what we were all thinking but dare not say.
  17. Nonsense, with Taylor Hunt in their team they would have flogged Port in the first final.
  18. And people think Demonland is bad? Wow, that was just awkward.
  19. I still think the forward line is lacking another weapon. I believe that Garlett will make a massive difference as I rate small forwards higher than most, ideally Watts or Howe could fill that void as a dangerous target to compliment Dawes, Hogan and Pedersen.
  20. But Roos said he was a midfielder.
  21. I always thought Fremantle blew their only chance in 2013.
  22. I think I saw Cale Morton do a wrestling drill once.
  23. I think it's fair to assume that most Demonland posters are from in or around Maroochydore.
  24. I don't need to watch a whole session, furthermore it's not the not first time I've seen Melbourne train and play. I was simply using the video to highlight something I already knew.
