Wouldn't know, Tyson is a wuzza at training when it's cold, he wears skins......did most of the session, perhaps he just got bored with the goalkicking....didn't talk to any of the fitness/medical staff -

No, when he was running he looked unrestricted, and bouncing around doing that ridiculous handball competiition mentioned originally, was an interesting group 1 ruckman, 1 forward, 1 defender and 1 midfielder, all 4 are battle hardened so maybe just a light session, Tommy Mc and Tyson finished before the rest, but don't think that means anything either, would be more concerned with Bail missing for team continuity -

Another bit which I forgot about. Roos used this session for the one on one onfield talks with individual players again, some of the body language etc is interesting, with Jordie McKenzie Roos spend whole time with hands in pockets, with Pigdog Riley, continually doing the rolling hands, ie movement, with Jack Watts a lot of pointing out positions on the field, with Cam Pedersen backwards and forwards motions and marking with hands, with Nathan Jones looked like stoppage positions, with Russian the same, with Nev Jetta hands in pockets again -
Names?.....and so after much crying on this board about players not being developed properly, you would then start trading out KP players we have developed. In all this Roos said 'it would be nice' to have, it was a good excuse for a fishing expedition

Who are the best six kicks in our mighty team?
Satyriconhome replied to Bobby McKenzie's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought you liked the in depth training reports, it was a perfect example of Watts' kicking skills, not sure Kent would agree -
Went to training this morning Jesse Hogan trained, put that bit in Jesse Hogan injury update topic Max King returned to full training Mitch Clisby still looks a bit restricted Shannon Byrnes did the whole session No sign of Roh Bail Jamar, Garland, Vince and later Dawes did a lighter session, including a ridiculous handball competition with about 6 balls in the air at one time Roos gathered group together and spoke for a couple of minutes, asked one of the staff what was said, it was along the lines of yes it was a win, but no it wasn't a 120 minute performance, which you need if you want to play finals, they need to remember where they are at, the Kangaroos present yet another great challenge and the team needs to 'perform' for 120 minutes Asked a few about Sunday, Roos was pretty calm at half time, tinkered with the match ups, made mention of the 'misplaced' effort, left it to the players, who made a pact that they had served up rubbish to the supporters again, and in the second half that was going to stop, and they were going to win Towards end of session they split the group into AFL and Casey, Riley went with the Casey group, whether that means anything this early in the week, they did more handballing and kicking drills whilst the AFL group kicked for goal, so maybe it was just fitness. Cam Pedersen reckons he was trying to kick to Jack Watts with that great long goal Myself and Christian Salem reckon the World Cup is now wide open, due to the results up to now, we both thought Van Persie's headed goal would take a 'wonder goal' to beat it as goal of the tournament, and he would have looked ridiculous if he had missed it On his winning goal, said he just went back and did his routine, which he has done a thousand times before, didn't think past kicking the goal The whole mood of the group was upbeat Any questions feel free

The article in the Hun and Roos' comments are a fishing expedition, he will be waiting for phone calls from managers from now on, waste of time chasing players who are not interested in coming to MFC

Why, they do know they have supporters, and they do know there are fan forums, and they know I post on here, so they use me to answer questions for the supporters out there, Jesse knows every supporter wants him on the field and he actually appreciates the support

Nev Jetta's approach to kicking after I complimented him on his 93% disposal efficiency, "don't let ambition overtake your ability" -

Watts' kicking skill allows him to be a bastard now and again Dean Kent had an urgent requirement at training today and raced off to the nearest tree, unfortunately because the group was training in the middle of the ground, this left him only about 30 metres from the fence and all the other players getting a drink, Watts picked up a ball, took one step, kicked it under the fence, and it bounced perfectly towards Kent who was furiously concentrating on the job on hand, as there was a female approaching (much to everybody elses' amusement), Kent was kneeling on one knee against the tree, the ball took it's final bounce just before him and cleared his head by about an inch....to cheers.... -
Jesse did about 40 minutes running, none flat out, this morning at training, watched closely by 3 members of the fitness/medical staff. I asked him at the end paraphrasing "it's sweet mate", "no probs, just taking it slowly" "did a bit" Told him there were 30 pages of nervousness on Demonland "tell them not to worry" He also was smiling and giving thumbs up to any MFC staff who asked him how he was going.

Going to training, but must reread some the posts here, re Grimes and Frawley, there is some real comedy gold, if only some posters would actually watch the games

This is as close to fact as I can get after talking to both Nev and Jade Rawlings, Roos wanted midfield depth, and unfortunately Nev was squeezed out but 'promised' a rookie spot, based on Jade Rawling's assessment of Nev's last six weeks at Casey last year. Jade has always been a fan but Nev could never get a consistent run at it through one thing or another but Jade thought he at least deserved another chance Nev had his first break from footy without the necessity for a post season op and trained over the break to arrive at pre season in his best shape ever, he again did every single session of the pre season and started the season in the best nick physically for five years He went to Casey, promised by Rawlings that he would play in his preferred position in defence, he also went relaxed with nothing to prove and decided to just have a real crack and enjoy playing footy again, his form was outstanding in the first few weeks and forced his way into AFL team Roos instruction to begin with was to use abilities, his hardness, agility etc in a lock down role and KEEP IT SIMPLE, once he had his defensive side locked down, like the rest of the team he can then start to use his skills in offense, especially his short kicking and agility in traffic, exactly what we are starting to see now Nev appreciates the simplicity and the fact that he has a role that doesn't change week in week out, just the opponent, and actually tries to nominate who he would like to take on if he can, was licking his lips to have a go at Wingard The fact that he seems to get a random belt from an opponent each week, notice Chapman got him this week, he wears as a badge of honour because it means he is doing his job

Nev Jetta's last six games for Casey last year, he was in the best six for each game and BOG for one, Jade Rawlings went into bat for him to be retained as a Rookie, he then had a full pre season, played his first few games at Casey in his preferred position in defence and earned his spot in the AFL side in his preferrred position, it is his to lose

Post Match Discussion - Never in doubt
Satyriconhome replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's still not as ugly as the one with the face like a dropped pie - Daniher. Just watching the replay at the moment. Can we petition foxtel to drop Little Der Wayne? I never took much notice until recently but he is truly horrible. Is there really a need for this? -
No I am implying I am on the bandwagon, most of the posters on here were glad to see Nev gone at the end of last season, not me

Let me think, ah that's right, have had 39 on the back of my jumper for five years........bandwagon?

I don't think I could carry off or do justice to anything from the Metalicus range, but if you have any free Black Pepper samples, yes please -

Don't normally read CFB's posts, find them soporific, but the post is quite amusing, but to appeal to me even more should have gone with Ohne Dich by Rammstein (similar sentiment) Not a fan of American metal, music by numbers, always thought Lars Ulrich was brave becoming a drummer after being born with a club foot and no sense of rhythmn -
Why would a WA native want to move east Who says that is what he is asking? And as if Freo wouldn't pay it (whatever figure it turns out to be)

No, I was a polite grammar schoolboy for the majority of the 60''s, but 70's now that's were the phrase 'lost weekend' comes from, when I first started playing footy, after years of playing "soccer", I always found it rather quaint to stand in a circle and sing a song when you won, but it grew on me, there is nothing wrong with the song...as somebody has said it is streets ahead of some of the expansion teams johnny come lately efforts -

No, Metallica is the rubbish song they now play before the team emerges from the dressing room before the game, suggest you contact the AFL, they provided the content on game day -

And we are from a generation that actually had some substance, and knew where the "auld acquaintance" line came from without googling it, leave the song alone, I am now proudly wearing the blazer singing the song and the relevant line in a loud voice facing in the generall direction of the G
