  1. Chap it's what I told you about Jetta and Roos, Roos wanted Nev to get the shutdown role to become second nature first, then when he was comfortable with that, to use his natural ability to take the game on, I spoke to him at training on the Thursday before, he was excited about playing in the Indigenous Round and was confident he could shut down Wingard and others and then start create and take the game on, but Roos rule is defend first I was a bit doubtful about how quickly Roos and his coaches could unlock the potential that has been below the surface in a few of our mid tier players, but I was wrong. Nev also owes Jade Rawlings, it was Jade who went in to bat for him to keep him on the rookie list. The good thing with Nev, he is still not confident that he will be retained, so he is going out each week to make them keep him
  2. What I find hilarious is we have put the clip on the Club website, if he had connected, he would have got weeks
  3. Wrong, they have "the Toffee Lady" walking around throwing "Everton Mints" to the crowd, er and yes they do, have a look at some of the merchandising available, Red Devils especially
  4. Now that's better, I was another that used to 'like' Joeboy's efforts, it is not that he has raised his standards, I think jaundice has set in, either that or he didn't watch the game
  5. Cou;dn't help yourself could you, there is a difference as to how the team was playing last year and this, and a myriad of reasons which have been done to death on here as to what and why, but then again some of us have moved on looking for the positives, you never will get how I think, bit above you methinks, but feel free to keep taking potshots, if it compensates for something else missing in your life, at least it is achieving something
  6. I support Everton in the Premier League, a team that has been around as nearly as long as MFC, their nickname is "the Toffees", there is no reference to the toffee on their emblem
  7. Oh good, let's break even this season, but look at putting more money into the Footy Dept next season or let's get a new emblem again after four years and have to spend money on changing everything again, jumpers, signage, letterheads, merchandising...sigh and sigh...any way agree must we go back to cartoonish emblems..why?....and besides which if it is going to have a name on surely the name should be Dees, don't hear many people calling MFC the Demons these days....
  8. I use both hands to type actually, not like some on here who need one hand to hold something else whilst typing...couldn't resist
  9. Concise and true, rather than the five or six pages of 'heroes' spouting off I nearly broke my hand on the table when he turned it over, but all the work off the ball and his putting his body in harms way, and marshalling the defence compensates for the mistakes He will fix these up
  10. It's not strange it is Roos continuing his 'education', we have a little gem on our hands, he didn't look out of place
  11. We were well aware of it, but we had spent all the petrol tickets getting our noses in front, coach disappointed, players disappointed, supporters disappointed...all yes, but difference from last year, immeasurable
  12. Gee! I have pointed out before that some of the Fence's posts border on the ridiculous, hopefully he will go away and have a long hard look at himmself and rectify this
  13. Crackers, cant quote you, but thanks for your post, don't see the off the ball work on the telly, notice your post is ignored, too factual
  14. I say clown, if that is aimed at me, it is how I feel about Anzac Day personally, nothing whatsoever to do with you, and I don't tut tut anybody else from holding it in high esteem, which they do, there are a couple of us having a debate here, a proper debate, something you wouldn't recognise , so butt out....personally I identify more with the Indigenous Rd, but wouldn't mind a Multi Cultural round or diversity as someone has suggested
  15. JKH is small, that's what makes his performances even better
  16. I have served my time in the military, I am not a great believer in any sort of 'celebration' of anything relating to war or the military, Anzac Day is a celebration and recognition of the 'Anzac Spirit' which personally I think died out when the first generations of 'me' appeared in the late 80's, so each to their own as you have tried to say
  17. It's recognition of what Indigenous Players have brought and bring to Footy, it also forms part of Reconiliation Week, do I need to explain what that is? or do you have a handle on it......let's cancel the Queens Birthday game because republicans can't understand what all the fuss is about...or Anzac Day which in a way celebrates the massacre of thousands authorised by politicians happily sitting in safety
  18. Just to let you know Nev Jetta had a lot of input into the design of MFC jumper The one I am most unimpressed with is the Collingwood one, Eddie won't really alter the black and white stripes for anyone
  19. If you leave a forward space to lead into and a midfield getting their hands on the ball first, it doesn't matter who is on him, that's what we need to stop, good thing is they can swap over as well
  20. From what I saw of PJ the other night at the Club, he has unfinished business with us, reckon he is like Roos when he considers he has done what he was "hired" to do, he will look for a successor, it also helps that he gets nothing but positive feedback from the supporters
  21. From what I saw yesterday, Chip Frawley is setting himself for a big game, he is a really cool guy, you can take the [censored] and he takes it, a couple of us and Jack Grimes were bemoaning the fact that Dawes and his leadership was missing right in front of him, he just smiled and basically said "she'll be right", he looked pumped during the session Forget the bye, the team was switched on the minute they hit the track yesterday, Roos said as much as well in his Roos' Views, there is real competition for places now, you have to produce.......Nev Jetta is itching to get a crack at Wingard, as he put it, 2 'brothers' in Indigenous Round, I reckon Dunn will take Schultz, Terlich and Garland will share Robbie Gray and any midfielder coming forward and Tommy Mc will get Westoff I am very optimistic and actually looking forward to the game I find it hilarious, the noise coming out of Geelong was that even they were worried about going to face Sydney without Lonergan and Enright, makes it sound like they were beaten before they ran out.....we have a team full of confidence actually looking forward to cracking in against the top team.....how times change
  22. No the only difference is that Roos has got the bit between the ears on most players fully fit
  23. Exactly, I spoke to a few of them at training yesterday morning, you can sense the belief is there. Roos has finally convinced them that the other team is only 22 other blokes, yes they are talented, but if everybody plays their role to the best of their ability
  24. I think you will find it was Burgo who wrote that, I asked Nev this morning at training, and he said he is in the frame but they are not allowed to confirm Said if he was, he wants a crack at Chad Wingard, another one who has great self belief and confidence now
  25. Lynden Dunn seems to think we are capable of beating them, he told me this morning
