  1. It is not name dropping, I don't need to do that to make myself feel good, what would you prefer "an unnamed source from within the club", please grow up, I had good parents I have no need to be famous There is a difference with "he is a young developing player who has the occasional shocker" that is par for the course for young footballers, had quite a few chats with Tommy and he wouldn't mind me saying that, and calling a player a useless spud, which some on here do, that is what I don't like, it is not unwarranted criticism it is bagging
  2. Er...that's what I was pointing out.....
  3. Tommy Mc is another one of the young and developing footballers we have on our list at the moment, who puts in the occasional shocker. But after having a few chats with Jade Rawlings, you may be surprised to know he doesn't agree with your assessment of Tommy
  4. I do think some posters on here when they were growing up, the kid next door always had the shinier bike or the newer skateboard, one minute Paul Roos is being praised from the rooftops for developing players who some on here thought were past redemption, now he needs to get rid of them and start again....we played 2 top sides in 2 weeks, we just couldn't maintain our new standard for 8 quarters, but we didn't go backwards...........to deflate your balloon slightly...let me think Ted Richards was happily let go by Essendon, same with Josh Kennedy at Hawthorn and Rhyce Shaw at Collingwood...amazing they can get a game at Sydney Edit spelling and grammatical indiscretions
  5. So the fact that Roos is playingTerlich, M Jones, Bail et al, at the moment, means that he will waste this season getting them up to speed with game plan, roles etc and just get rid of them?...and bring in new ones and start again....sounds like an excellent plan
  6. So not quite the whole list then..........
  7. So you intend changing the whole list?
  8. ...that must mean he posts on here as well......
  9. ....missed it by that much.....the point is elite kick at junior doesn't always translate as elite kick at senior level....you must be the only one on this board who thinks it is going to take another 4 or 5 years, we unfortunately had an off day with the kicking, other stuff worked and improved slightly, you can fix the kicking, we have some really good kicks, Salem and Toumpas could be the answer but not after 4 and 18 games respectively
  10. must be my age, does a bit for me........and Howe forward for what reason, if the delivery is not perfect at the moment...so he can launch at everything?
  11. .....and how many years are you going to wait to watch an 18yr old develop, at least 3....we have a few 'elite kickers' from Junior level, doesn't necessarily always translate to AFL, Strauss being one example, he is having a job at the moment putting it together at VFL level
  12. There you go rpfc, I agree with you, I think the field kicking was the only thing to go backwards yesterday, methinks there will be a lot of practice during training this week, ball movement was all they practiced last Saturday and goal kicking, thinks that's what frustrated and disappointed Roos the most
  13. It is consistency with Blease, I have watched him a couple of times at VFL level, yes the run out of the back half is exciting and I wish I could see it at AFL level but then he goes missing, or he has a really good game followed by another poor one, if he was at all consistent he would have already been named as an emergency. Not sure whether he has still done enough, but I am not on match committee so it doesn't matter what I think
  14. Why don't we all just take a deep breath and listen to what Roos said, he wasn't happy, assume there are a few in the team who may not be playing next week, he stated "we went slow when we should have gone quick and quick when we should have gone slow" amongst other things, and reading between the lines, instructions were not followed. Defensively we were excellent, so can't see changes in defence, but midfield and forward, yes
  15. BB you only just realised that Mr Farr talks from somewhere other than his mouth
  16. Damn quote won't work, Machsy I get it, I am unworthy of posting on here, do what I do, and congratulations you have now joined my list, don't read what I post, some others are interested
  17. It was tongue in cheek boys, keep getting accused of being a fanboy who is just told rubbish by players, sorry dazzle, forgot it was Saturday night
  18. Went to training today with my lovely lady and walked back towards AAMI with JKH Asked him how he ended up on Wingard during Alice game, said it is a team rule that if you end up caught from your opponent, you are to take the nearest match and stick with it till a stoppage in the forward half allows a safe changeover, Nev Jetta was on the bench so JKH stuck with Wingard till Nev came back on...team first He is really excited about the QB game, I said the team is so close to clicking and winning on a regular basis, he said (paraphrasing) "don't worry we want it now, we aren't waiting 2 years" Other notes, Nathan Jones hopes Macaffer goes to Dom Tyson and Dom Tyson hopes he goes to Nathan Jones, they both had a good laugh about it The training session was excellent, nothing but ball movement and stoppages And Christian Salem thinks Chile are a good outside bet for the World Cup
  19. He hasn't gone backwards, the first few games didn't help him, then he had an ankle injury, FD is trying to turn him into Ruck/Forward rather than ruck, he was Casey's best a couple of weeks ago against Coburg, another who is being developed, needs to put a run together now at Casey, get his name back in the frame
  20. MB "Paul, what are you going to do over the bye?" PR "Myself and the coaches are going to do a mid year review" JS "The coaching staff said they had seen enough of the list to offer certain blokes contracts and I was one of those guys" And obviously Lynden Dunn was another Watch this space
  21. I know for a fact in the last two games he played, his ankle was heavily strapped and he was jabbed up, to perform how he did is a credit to him, also listen to what Roos' has said "you need a ruck departrment these days", Jake seems to have been around for ages, but he is still only 25, so he could see out another 5 years
  22. When they do the end to end he is usually with the forwards, but he does sit in on the mids talks, as in the other day I reported they stood around in a circle discussing where to stand etc, there is no need to put him in the middle just yet, Roos will probably introduce that 2/3 into the games if he plays them all this season
  23. Mr Nolan, we are wandering off topic, but I have faith that both will stay
  24. Oh good we have yet another new sheriff walking through the bat wing doors of the Demonland saloon How do you know what I do, standing next to me are you, I think not, but hey if you want to speil that feel free, I ask permission to quote old chap, the polite thing to do, otherwise all you are doing is spreading untruths and rumours (you can recognise them, can you) Not a 'fanboy' as you so eloquently put it, just chat to the players, talk to them about footy like they are human beings, the one thing they do know is that I don't bag them I also get told things I keep to myself, because I am told to, I got told quite a few things last year but was asked not to share Magner had an axe to grind similar to Moloney before him, of course he is going to be negative, similar to my attitude towards some of the 'courageous' decisions being made by management where I work now, but when somebody asks me a question they know my answer is going to be tainted by the experience I am going through now....common sense....ah now I see the problem
  25. I think he will re sign
