Nominations for the new Richmond Board
Satyriconhome replied to pineapple dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry SWYl, forgot what I type is usually not music to your ears "In music, counterpoint is the relationship between voices that are harmonically interdependent (polyphony) yet independent in rhythm and contour. It has been most commonly identified in classical music, strongly developing during the Renaissance and in much of the common practice period, especially in Baroque music" I am more pleased that it is off season, and all we (MFC) get is feel good stories such as Nev, shows we have moved forward...although a bit disappointed that the topic only got 6 replies -

Counterpoint I thought you were going to burst into song there SWYL, not a very harmonious atmosphere at the old Punt Road Oval at the moment, best line "35 years into a 5 year plan" give that man a gig at the Comedy Festival -

I would, but every time I walk past Punt Rd oval I get a cold shiver down my back, have to watch health at my age -
Ok, from what I have seen of him..........he has speed....... The knock I heard on him was one that occurs with a lot of small forwards, alright kicking goals, defensive efforts leave a lot to be desired There you go chap Bit unfair on JKH when he has been plagued with hamstring issues for last 2 seasons

I was going to nominate SWYL for a position on the Richmond Board, he has spent the last few years righting all the wrongs of his nemisis Cam Schwab on here, the experience he has gained would stand him in good stead to knock over Megan's brother -
If we keep JKH we have another one, seems his injury woes may be behind him (hopefully)

Sigh.......

All the talk is on Demonland, the only other mention was on AFL site which said "young developing ruckman" this is not Clarke surprised after Jamar"s 'outstanding" showing for Essendon there isn't a thread about bringing him back

Nev Jetta nominated for the Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award
Satyriconhome replied to Mickey's topic in Melbourne Demons
He is a proud indigenous man who wants to give back, the Juvenile Justice Centre is actually Jeff Garlett's, Nev embraced it along with a few of the other players when Jeff arrived at the Club he is also proud of the best practice process for indigenous players at Footy Clubs that he and Shaun Burgoyne are involved in producing Has a very dry sense of humour when you get to know him -
CASEY SCORPIONS v FOOTSCRAY BULLDOGS - VFL FINALS WEEK 1
Satyriconhome replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have my opinions on players same as everyone else, just don't put them on Demonland, opens the door for the nuff nuffs to spout their bile, they have more than enough opportunities without me adding to them, and a lot of it is group think anyway -

CASEY SCORPIONS v FOOTSCRAY BULLDOGS - VFL FINALS WEEK 1
Satyriconhome replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dominant was the word used, I said, in my opinion, he wasn't, the whole team lifted, it takes 22 to fightback, I thought he looked like he is, an ageing big bodied former AFL ruckman playing at VFL level -
I spoke to him and yes he would like to play senior footy, but Gawn played to well this season and got through the season unscathed but he was also happy to take the 1 year extension with MFC, he is also one of the players who want to win the flag with Casey

Trade and Free Agency: The Top 10 Trade Stories
Satyriconhome replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't mind it for a holiday or a trip, been to Broome, Margaret River, home of Nev, Bunbury, Kalgoorlie (now that was a week)......and the exciting Port Hedland......yes it is the same for Canberra spent quite a while there, most people think it is a couple of monuments, Parliament House, it is much more than that.......from what I can gather Jesse Hogan does prefer Melbourne over Perth, could just be grass is greener, I don't think anybody at the moment knows whether he will go or stay...even him -

It just seemed so bland and contrived, also bloody hot during the summer and not a nice hot, prefer inner city Melbourne, being English and been to them all, order is Melb, Hobart, Darwin, Canberra (coz I lived there and got to know the place), Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Sydney -

I am also not a fan, been there a few times, also know Jesse prefers Melbourne lifestyle over Perth, whether that would change with a massive offer of money who knows? As for Fyfe, was it manager talk in the first interview? Fremantle will bounce back quickly, Fyfe was allowed by Lyon to do a lot of coaching when Freo were playing, couldn't see him letting a guy who was leaving do that -

Why would a WA boy want to leave WA, would this mean if it happens that Hogan plays for 10 years at home in WA and Fyfe decides after 2 or 3 he wants to go back home to WA? that's a big win for us -
I think that they will keep it, what is the alternative for a throw in from the boundary, a kick to the team that didn't put it out? If they were in the lead and it was the last minute or two they could then waste time Or the centre bounce, give it to the team that has been scored against? same thing I know all sports are trying to speed the game up and stop unnecessary stoppages, Union authorising lifting in lineouts coz teams did it anyway and the constant stopping and starting slowed it down, League with the scrum, they tried to take it out and there was uproar, so a quick unopposed feed and the game is on again, Soccer with the kick back to the goalkeeper etc etc The only change I can see and Gawn, Goldstein and Jacobs have set the benchmark, is a ruckman who is an aerobic beast who can run as long as the midfielders, the lumbering tap ruckman is a thing of past, an aerobic beast who can kick goals, run all day and tap is the way to go

You need a daughter interstate who is social media junkie, you soon learn so a 'meaningful' conversation via Facebook Messenger/Twitter/Text can take place -
er....some of 'them' may be playing for Casey in finals, and the aim of doing the delistings now would be?
-
Eeeeekkkkk each team would wait for the other one to grab it and tackle them in the hope of getting holding the ball and a free kick, a farce, but on a serious note, my thought that if a team has a dominant ruckman because of the size of the players coming through now we will see more and more of the third man up to nullify the dominant ruckman

And Nev, Billy Stretch, Dean Kent -
A brave, but in the end, futile attempt at humour, I thought you would be too shy to come out behind your keyboard to speak to the players, nobody is saying that Watts is the answer, but a couple of posters have said that a fwd/ruck would be a good idea, eg Vickery, Watts is that at the moment
