  1. Er Stuie slavery still exists chap, unless you are talking about the branch of slavery which was the African/American, you have rebels capturing women to be sex slaves, rich Americans in the south employing illegal immigrants on slave wages, even the intern program at some large accounting firms (sorry couldn't resist), clothing factories in both the Phillipines and the sub continent, you really need to get out more
  2. Stuie, love your optimism, over 60 years of age chap and led an enjoyable and varied life, but seen too much of too many things, no sorry, not in my lifetime, maybe my great great grandchildrens time, unless North Korea has nuked us all in the meantime
  3. Because I spoke to him as well, this has been an ongoing issue since he was drafted, he thinks/hopes/etc that they have finally fixed it
  4. I have discussed this a few times with Nev, unfortunately and despite the multi cultural nature of our society now, racism has existed in Australia since the First Fleet, and will continue to do so, it exists in all societies, in different forms, being a 'whingeing Pom" tells me that
  5. The whole team hit the wall, I have 2 players, Roos said the same thing, who looked like they had the energy both physically and mentally to run out the game, Brayshaw and Salem, both of who have missed big chunks of footy this year, missing out on the physical and mental battering the rest have had
  6. No Stuie, that's my point, it doesn't matter how much us whitefellas try and stomp it out, it will probably continue to exist, not on my part though, never has and never will
  7. I'll give you the perfect answer about racism Stuie, I asked Nev about the Eddie Betts incident, did it make him angry, his answer "yes it did, but as Eddie said every indigenous person is used to it from the day they are born"
  8. But you were the one who introduced Louis CK into the topic.
  9. No, I had never seen his act, not my cup of humour, only knew about the 'rumours'
  10. For the last few weeks Roos has continually spoken about looking for signs that players were tiring etc, said he hadn't seen any although he made a point of resting Oliver, think coaching staff had a fear of the team, with so many young players in it, hitting a wall, unfortunately probably didn't see the team hitting the wall so hard
  11. The information on his illness is well known, it is a thyroid problem, last attack (which hopefully they have now fixed) cost him 5kg in weight, fact coz I spoke to him face to face, good enough?
  12. As we have seen with Cosby, Harris, Saville et al as well as the Catholic Church, there has been too much noise for there not to be some truth, I was in the entertainment industry for a while in the 70's in England and Saville was a known fact, unfortunately at that time, it was regarded as par for the industry with groupies etc
  13. http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2016/06/louis-ck-finally-addresses-sexual-assault-allegations/
  14. I suggest you don't look at Louis Ck centric sites and just google
  15. is this the same guy who is supposedly an unmasked (as yet) sexual predator? Think that says a lot. I too am against political correctness but it has its place if it combats racism and bigotry
  16. Nev does his job, never will be a match winner, they get the votes, hence Viney, Gawn, Tyson, will be interesting though to see where he finishes in the B&F
  17. Tad comical doesn't even cover it, Viney is still two pre seasons off his prime, what he has contributed this season has been outstanding You do know that the 6 posts you have contributed to this board are all negative
  18. Post Match discussion - 2016 season over, looking forward to what we do in the drafting and trade periods, lots of young talent to get a good solid preseason in, wake up call for last couple of games on how much work still needs to be done
  19. You have watched him this year? If not what is that appraisal based on?
  20. It is the modern game professor, we NEED at least 30 players of AFL standard to be fit and firing at any one time, it puts pressure on the incumbents in the team to perform, cover injuries, prevent different looks to opposition teams etc, it is not about him taking a spot, he could play midfield or forward, FD obviously think he is worth it
  21. I am so glad you posted this, coz you have form, I am beginning to think you take the [censored] as much as I do. Have you watched Trenners play at Casey this year, slowly he is getting back to where he was, he is starting to dominate games, a full preseason and who knows
  22. He missed nearly two years of footy, worked his arse off to get back, and whilst at the moment he can't crack the AFL side, I am sure Justin Plapp is pleased with the performances he is putting in at Casey, he will know where his deficiencies are and work on them, like every other player
  23. Like every other player an injury free full pre season, the rest happens
  24. A lot of people were saying thanks at training, think he felt humbled by it, hopefully it will be a good send off at the B&F, think he is looking forward to the holiday, in both the presser and in person he looks tired, not tired enough to put the wood on the AFL to give Jayden Hunt the last Rising Star nomination, team first always, never about him
  25. Agreed, as soon as he had a couple of runs in the VFL after the illness, straight back in the side, Roos reckons "he can play anywhere and we have missed him", Let's trade him....oh dear
