I know the result was wrong for MFC, but the two teams who played in the VFL grand final were Footscray and Casey, so the affiliation or non affiliation seems to make little difference

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Satyriconhome replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
OD, personally I find this comparison nonsense boring and doesn't belong on here, but I think you will find the 'general public' regards great players as players who perform at a very high standard consistently, agreed some of them may win more games than other players including finals, but a lot don't, eg Harvey and Riewoldt from Saints Boyd has now set his bar, let's see if he can replicate it on a consistent basis Same with Jesse -
Liam Picken, Mark Austin, Shaun Higgins HB Robert Murphy, Dale Morris, Jack Macrae C Tom Young, Matthew Boyd, Adam Cooney HF Fletcher Roberts, Stewart Crameri, Will Minson F Luke Dahlhaus, Jake Stringer, Daniel Giansiracusa Fol Tom Campbell, Ryan Griffen, Tom Liberatore I/C Marcus Bontempelli, Nathan Hrovat, Jason Johannisen Sub Koby Stevens McCartney's last team, so Beveridge had a massive cleanout Forgot to add Jordan Roughead out with injury and Lin Jong omitted And Dickson, Smith, Hamling and Biggs were on the list

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Satyriconhome replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Good post, Demondame seems to be convinced he is staying, so all this discussion could be mute He has always struck me as a young guy who has been thrust into the spotlight, and not quite sure how to deal with it, on field sometimes his body language is all over the place, off field from day one he has struggled with dealing with the hype/autographs/interviews. The coaches love his attitude, never shirks training, came back into pre season in ripping shape, so don't think his attitude is a problem I think he thought naively that if he said he would leave contract talk till the end of the year, it would all go away, can only assume he was badly advised My thoughts on Jesse. if he leaves, he is one player, we will have a plan to cover it If he stays great -
Reckon the Dogs were reading this topic with both Gregory and James before the game https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_the_West_Was_Won_(film)

Haha I was serving in the Gulf, but off duty a hard drinking idiot, so apologies if you were one of the rare mature 21 year olds, just trying to put some perspective on the situation Jesse finds himself in Who killed Bambi? -

I do find it a bit disconcerting with some of the discussion around a 21 year old, I am sure most of us can remember being 21 and especially male, not exactly the most 'intelligent' creatures. Yes he is an AFL player, and yes he is being paid an inordinate amount of money for a 21 year old, but he is now having to consider his future/career, he must take into consideration his families wishes, especially if there is illness, but I am also sure he is getting guidance from other sources as well. Think the modern day manager is more about getting the best deal financially for his clients, rather than footy success, my opinion, so Jesse will also have to weigh up the advice from his manager as well, and what he wants to achieve in his career -

Reason I am more optimistic this year BBO, we have a lot of young (recognised as having a lot of potentail) guys who Goodwin will be able to show the last 3 weeks and say this is what you need to do, also we will have 2 guys, if we get Hibberd, who have had a year off, wanting to prove themselves all over again, plus a couple of experienced heads in Jones and Vince to drive the standards.....plus some in the likes of BenKen, Bugg, Lumumba who will need to perform or will get used to the drive to Casey

Is this the strong source -
I thought the 'copying' meant win a premiership, I am sure Goodwin already has a good idea of how he wants the team to play and who is capable of doing that on the list
-
Agreed

The Bont, when he made an appearance on Marngrook Footy Show earlier this year, praised Brendan McCartney for the work he did as coach, a lot of tidays players were given their chance by McCartney Beveridge came in and moulded the players into a unit, as a relationshop coach, Goodwin So maybe we are not that far off copying

Believe he is overseas on holiday, I thought it would be Harmes, he is still in Melb, maybe Clarrie volunteered
-
I I reckon Swans by 20 points First Goal Franklin Norm Smith Parker

He was having a bit of banter with Ben Kennedy and Tommy Mc on Twitter, said he had embarrassed the club

Gee, up nice and early today WJ, Goodwin has already said (my infamous chats, and a couple in the media) that he thinks Hogan can rotate through midfield a la Roughead -
The avatar was my delightful daughter's suggestion
-
That's not my list, just hoovering up who has been mentioned already
-
Good contribution and right on topic! Lamb,Hibberd,Hannath,Darling,Lobbe, and anyone else mentioned on Big Footy
-
Strangely maligned you got it in 1
-
Not many, because, until I am corrected, the maligners have never been on an AFL list, an opinion I have expressed on here before

I didn't say the above, I said Jeff had a role on the wing as well as forward he didn't blame anybody for his dip in form, I suggest if you are goihg to continue to read my posts, you read them all,and not misquote to make a point I also said the service into the forwards was poor, nobody else, my opinion but if you watched the last two games live, even my favourite drovers dog would have seen that I don't champion players, I just get a bit bored with posters saying ridiculous comments like Jeff signed his contract extension and then lost interest I also loathe the denigration of players by some of the 'couldabeens' on this site, reminds me of the piece of modern art, it was black letters on a white background It said ' I could do better than that!' ' yes, but you didn't '

Gee this is great news and McCatney to mentor Goodwin and the other coaches Not sure if we are still a line coach down McPherson fwds Rawlings backs and Mathews midfield?
