THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Satyriconhome replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in General Discussion
Nice to see the usual Demonland puerile childish name calling responses to anybody (Robbo) who has the temerity to disagree with the group think If anybody thought a Swiss court was going to find against an organisation based in Switzerland, that brings money into the country, are surely the ones that may be 'deluded' It was the reason the whole process was set up this way, Google how many times it has overturned CAS decisions This whole thing has been a politically driven [censored] up from start to finish Hopefully once Watson hands back his Brownlow, which I think he will, just to put everything away, we can all forget this whole schamozzle Pity Watson is not a long limbed blonde tennis player, might have had his ban reduced, consistency bat [censored] -

Still waiting for somebody to convince me otherwise I think Taylor takes more pleasure out of finding late picks, such as Oscar Mc and Jayden Hunt, we are stocked up on young talent, somebody of Hibberd's experience is obviously first priority but who knows -

I don't hold people in contempt, I leave that to others on this forum I have an attitude that this is footy, nobody dies, but I also have strong opinions on a lot of issues in footy, if other posters don't like them I don't really care, as long as I am allowed to express them Everybody is also allowed an opinion, but if I don't agree with it, I will post why I don't agree, don't mind a bit of robust discussion and there are a lot of posters on here who can do exactly that without resorting to name calling etc which is what a forum is about I just find 'hate' too strong a word when you are talking about footy, perhaps it is a generational thing, coz I hear outside in day to day as well, which I find rather sad On Hibberd to stay on topic, if we get a deal done, great, but I am sure it will be a deal that both clubs will think of as a win As for the drugs issue, the fact the pretty blonde tennis player had her ban reduced says it all for me about the drug agencies -

No go on explain it, I like a robust discussion, so where I am wrong in my opinion, the appeal was politicially motivated in my opinion, the 'hater's on here wanted it to happen they didn't forsee it........do you have concrete proof that it wasn't politically motivated? I am not strawmanning your position, on the contrary you seem to be doing that to me -

The general consensus, from a 'pedantic' point of view, was that the issue was over, it was then revived politically with the subsequent consequences, when you say Demonland foresaw it, what you meant to say was that all the 'haters' on here wanted it to happen -

I saw that he said it, but it is still not a good look in my opinion, yes everybody would get over it, I think Hibberd will be a good addition to the list, I also trust the FD to get it right, if we weren't interested Mahoney would have stood in front of the cameras and said so, why drag it out? -

It was like anything in life and footy, it could have gone either way Hopefully, to soothe your brow, Josh Mahoney will read this tonight and take it on board -
I could never 'hate' somebody's hair, I like people who are tonsorially adventurous With Vickery, reminds me of Sylvia, it's there, you just don't see it enough

If you think that fine, you are entitled to your opinion, we'll see how the trade period pans out, and then we can all play the usual game of Demonland Kings of Hindsight -

Unfortunately neither of you are part of Essendon's trade week team, if we land Hibberd it will be a deal that is suitable to both clubs, nobody foresaw that the EFC players would be banned, it was supposedly done and dusted, Port must feel exactly the same about Ryder -

Gee......the conspiracy theory is alive and well on Demonland....it is trade week, all clubs have a list and what they would like to get/offer, that is why trade 'week' lasts so long, negotiation -

Satyriconhome replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
No, that was my point that there will be more than one offer between the clubs, both will go away and look at all scenarios, I would be very surprised if the deal ended up as just one pick -

So you would be happy to burn a player who has nominated us as his club of choice, [censored] off the new coach coz he is the one who has obviously pushed out the boat for Hibberd, just to prove we have a bigger dick at the trade table? -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Satyriconhome replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
So to become a destination club......we burn a player to make a point that we won't be messed with at the trade table -

If you think that is how negotiation during trade week happens then you must be a bit naive, I am not the expert, but I have had conversations with people who have been directly involved in trade week, but I am also not that naive to think we would say take it or leave it -

You can bet your bottom dollar we have put more than next years 2nd round pick on the table, just to see how it falls, you really think we would say next years 2nd round pick or it doesn't happen, wouldn't surprise me if there were two or three scenarios on the table, including this years 2nd round pick and other picks etc -

Satyriconhome replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
I understand negotiation, we have given them two alternatives, so what you think is going to happen is Essendon will 'panic' and accept the next year pick? They have the player who wants to move to MFC, and we supposedly want the player, it doesn't necessarily mean it will actually happen the way we want it to, I think the negotiation is on equal footing -

Satyriconhome replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think you are over thinking this, it is not a curve ball, we have given them two scenarios, will be up to them to decide which one they would like to go with, I am sure we have a plan either way, Hibberd wants to be at MFC and not Essendon, something will be worked out and quite quickly I would have thought -
Er, it's footy
