I do find it amusing that on here Hogan has kicking issues, every forward goes through patches where they can't hit the side of a door, he will be entering his third season, fitter than ever and more experienced, we now have players who have the ability to hit him lace out, but personally don't think he will ever be the 'gorilla' in the goal square, but he will always kick his share of goals, I want a team where the goalkicking is spread around, so if he gets well held there are still other avenues to goal -
Sorry chap, work for the club on the day, so will be there way way way before you

Why, he had the yips for a while, but still kicked 41 goals, and the service into him in some games was appalling, every player will try and improve on the last year -

There are always other posters such as DeeSpencer who go the extra mile to describe the drills, not my forte, I provide a bit of colour, chats, photos etc Goodwin and Macca are encouraging the physicality, and rightly so, it helps that we are now the beneficiaries of the 3 years hard work Roos and Misson put into building bodies Jones and Oliver were smashing into each other on Wednesday with Macca shouting encouragement BenKen got cleaned up yesterday and then got Sam Frost with a beautiful hit The non preferred kicking is getting better each drill. The fact that they have the footy out all the time shows where the team is at fitness wise, touch wood we will have everybody ready to go first session after Xmas I followed half the squad to the tan yesterday and after 100 mins of footy training Misso had them repeat running up the hill near the Bowl, whilst the rest who stayed had Crossy to deal with The photos I put up on Instagram were trying to show some of the 'new' body shapes enjoy -

Cards now Hibberds engine is up and running, his kicking is on show, you can be positive about that as well, one example one low flat rocket across field about 60/70 metres to a stationary Bernie Vince, slapped into his hands at eye height -

Demonpk On training, you can actually see the skills improving each session with the footy out early, although some of the non preferred kicking Goodwin has them doing is still a work in progress For nicknames the players have run out of ideas Dion Johnstone is DJ -

Think Macca has issues, the other day "you are looking for the perfect handball, just get it forward, I don't care if you use your censored, get it forward" -

I asked him the other day whether he is going to play at Albury again this year to keep his eye in (he played about 7 games last year when he could fit it in) answer "of course", also asked him whether there was the slightest chance of him even looking like he is ageing or slowing down, answer "absolutely not" -

Just a bit of colour from training, they had a young guy for Make a Wish today, his wish was to train with the Dees, so started with Goodwin, spent a bit of time with Misso, went with the squad to the run -

And Max has still got a pressure bandage on his calf, but he completed the full session including pounding up and down the slope -

Weed, is still a bit stick like (in comparison to others), obviously he is a work in progress, just clocking up the sessions like the rest, haven't seen him standout or struggle which at this time of year is a good thing -

I didn't chat today, mainly took photos which I will post over the weekend, followed half the squad to the tan where they pounded up and down a grass slope for a while, so after full session they had to do that, DeeSpencer has covered the drills excellently as per the norm, but don't agree slightly on Garlett, but I am biased -
But you were being optimistic there

Macca's speciality is getting the best out of everybody, reckon he is the best signing, apart from senior coach, the club has made in the last few years, you can see the respect from both the coaches and players, also calls a spade a spade, ask a question you get an answer -

I have had quite a few conversations over the years with Trenners, the above will never happen. I am not one included in the second sentence Clarry is also fine, he was crook, the way him and Jonesy were smashing into each other on Wednesday was proof he has recovered, Jonesy gave him a couple of fearsome whacks and got the same back -

I have already covered the Trenners situation by actually speaking to him, and it frustrates me that some seem to think, not you Faulty, that being in the "rehab" whilst not having an op in the pre season means you came back unfit. It is because they want to increase the load on his foot gradually Hibberd is now with main group because as I said, it takes a week or two to get his engine ticking over properly so he did a week or two of just running, already looks like he is toning down On the leaning down I asked Pedo (everybody's body shape target) he is exactly the shape and weight they want him at, every single player is treated as an individual My observations on newbies Hannan - Howie shape and build nice clean goalkicking action Johnstone - typical indigenous small forward, nippy and agile Smith - the Bull, no explanation needed for the Casey watchers, will throw himself into everything Filipovic - nice size and frame to build a decent ruckman, neat kick Keilty - solid unit, could build him into a second ruck if needed -

Spoke to Macca about him, showed enough improvement in the 6 week mini pre season last year and consistency at Casey to be given the chance, think only scratched surface they want to see what full time environment can achieve Big lump of a bloke, managed to rip his training jumper to shreds in tackling drill -
