  1. [censored], I can't remember what I watched at training last week, mainly because I don't watch looking to be able to criticise, we have covered the area of speed ad infinitum. If Trenners can get back to full fitness his quickness between the ears will stand him in good stead, he is on a 1 yr contract if he doesn't crack a spot on a regular basis on the AFL side we all know what the outcome will be whether he is fast or not, watching him at training this year reckon his 'speed' puts him in the same group as Trac and Brayshaw when doing speed work
  2. Oh that's right Trenners has always been slow, he is moving really well doesn't seem to have an issue during match sim, but then again I didn't think he had an issue before the injury
  3. It's funny B, or perhaps I am getting older, have been a highly paid executive and everything in between, it is overrated, apart from Military, in a part time semi retired job now and it's the happiest I've been in work
  4. I think you need to read what I replied to and then read what I typed, gone off a bit early there McQ, bit of premature discombobulation, I even asked Max's opinion of him
  5. Never considered the media then B? Or politics. Or Union Official. Or Commercial Radio. Or Q&A panellist. Or ASADA. Or Real Estate Agent. Or Insurance Helpline Operator or........
  6. I am just waiting for the reaction from the opposition when Hogan appears in the centre square for the first time at a game, expect it
  7. He has been alongside Harmes and the rest of the engine room, learning how to block etc, so you may see him in the engine room, I spoke to him the other day, health issues are well under control and he is feeling fit and strong, like Stretch solid unit now
  8. It all depends on what I have imbibed the evening before Vagg, hence why fartlek could be an appropriate term
  9. What you also have to remember is that the forward he 'most admires' is Riewoldt, hence why he has turned himself into an aerobic monster who can run all day
  10. You may need to get to training and have a word with Goody and Macca, during the drills he is hardly on the end of the chain, he is part of it, they are utilising his excellent field kicking skills on both sides
  11. Did it in the military as well WJ, reason why I can still scoot with the best of them in my 'later years'
  12. In all the midfield drills I have watched Lewis is always on the outside, could be something to do with his shoulder, although he has never worn the do not tackle vest Goody is a big fan of Harmes and Harmes has been in every stoppage drill, expect him to be in there somewhere alongside Salem
  13. Sorry I knew it was on today coz a few of the players told me on Friday, but I had to work, think they just didn't bother advertising it
  14. An All Australian Premiership player of 223 games, jeez what would he have been like if he was up to it Just unfortunate that his time, like Dawes, has not turned out the way he or the club would have wanted it to. I just want the club to sort it out so that it doesn't come back to haunt us in the future, do the best for both the club and H
  15. No I don't think it was fine because it doesn't look like the 'classical' way of running up to kick a goal, I also don't think it is as bad as some make out, if Jesse is comfortable with it or smooths it out all well and good, he has kicked nearly the same amount of goals as Jack Riewoldt had at the same point in their careers, and Jack has supposedly got one of the best kicking actions, so Jesse must be doing something right As Peter Jackson said at the AGM, be patient with the young players
  16. So when you type 'Hogan set shot' into the search bar on here and get 358 results they are all glowing praise?
  17. And Binman answered my 'joke' Been discussing Hogan, hopefully he will be able to get one to sail through post height from 50 should the need arise, but then again I hope we have a few forwards capable of doing that, watched Watts launch one the other day from the centre square which did exactly that
  18. Gee Goody and Macca will be disappointed, from what I see at training, they expect to finish a forward movement with a player taking a shot from well inside the 50
  19. You're not derailing, I agree he has maybe struggled a couple of times with distance in games, especially when his confidence was down, but this was quickly turned into 'he has a major issue" as is the norm on here, I have watched him at training this year and he is definitely working on his goalkicking, including the run up, he has no issue with distance, hopefully this will translate into games.
  20. None of the players know, assume with Goody and Macca it will be left field, considering Goodwin took the new guys into a shark cage for their induction!!
  21. I mentioned it the other day, the stutter is not as pronounced, it's still there but runup is smoother, he is still kicking them from anywhere, contrary to the myth As for BenKen, another who is ticking all the boxes, training as a small fwd when they break up into groups, hasn't been near the midfield
  22. He is a semi regular at training, gets down at least once every couple of weeks acknowledges everybody from Goody down to me
  23. Agreed, in 2nd and 3rd years sat back more and observed, didn't stop him stopping the drills and delivering a bake now and again, Macca is doing this now, but he also supervises a couple of drills when Goody wants to observe
  24. There are upto six fwds supposedly on the field at any one time, the forward pressure exerted by all of them was non existent in some games, If we hope that with better service Garlett can become our Eddie Betts, I certainly do, with Eddie being rated as the best small fwd he is not exactly renowned for his defensive pressure
