  1. I believe Jack's with the AIS squad who are traveling as a group to Europe in April next year. Meanwhile, Todd is showing the right attitude as a parent. His son is still only 16 and there's really no need to add extra pressure on his son's shoulders. Let's all demonstrate the same patience and let him develop into the club's third Viney in the fullness of time.
  2. Destined to go heave ho to Freo based on comments in this story - Dees looking for replacement for Bruce.
  3. Mike Sheahan nails it in the Hun - Veteran a loss, but young Demons must take up slack. Life goes on and the club moves forward.
  4. Australia wins the second Test 55 to 52, and the series! Dane Swan probably the best on ground but once again, Chris Judd gets the umpires votes. Brad Green leading scorer with 0.4.4.
  5. Brad Green the hero puts Aussies in front by 3 in the last minute! Liam Jurrah-like!!!!
  6. Ireland lead by 4 points - Aussies scoreless this term at well past half way!
  7. Irish doing all the scoring as they whittle the lead down to 3 points!
  8. Aussies lead by 9 at the final break. Brad Green is the biggest scorer with 0.3.4.
  9. Third quarter and Kavanagh gets an under but the Aussies have a decent lead - 11 points.
  10. Aussies by 11. Brad Green has 2 overs from limited opportunities and Chip is going ok.
  11. Late flurry from Ireland including a goal (the only one of the match) but the Aussies hang on to win 0.14.5 (47) to 1.8.10 (40) at Limerick's Gaelic Grounds. The coach of the Irish team is former Demon Anthony Tohill. Cold in Limerick but not cold enough to deter a streaker who ran on half clothed at three quarter time. Highlight of the game for the 30,000 crowd. James Frawley (5k, 5hb) scored an over, Brad Green (4k, 2hb) quiet after starring in the lead up game. Adam Goodes scored four overs and Dane Swan got 33 touches but Juddy got the umpires' votes again Verdict: International Rules is crap. They should try to establish our version of the game over there. Would be much better than spending millions on new teams that steal our best players.
  12. IRELAND 19-28 AUSTRALIA First quarter: 9-12 Second quarter: 16-21
  13. As far as I'm concerned Hale would be of more value to us if he were put on the Gold Coast list. However, former Hawk Robert Campbell might be worth a look in the rookie draft. He's recovered from his knee problems and could be good value as a back up ruck and fill in either in defence or attack.
  14. No, it's not official yet but the news that Junior failed to front a meeting at Skilled Stadium between his manager and Cats CEO Brian Cook and operations manager Neil Balme seems to have sealed the issue as far as I'm concerned - Cats make pitch to keep Gary Ablett. "Pickering told a waiting media contingent that his client was 'in no rush' to make a decision on his future." Sorry, but that is an attitude that smacks of total contempt for the Geelong Footall Club which is obviously waiting for the Ablett decision so that it can organise itself for the year(s) ahead. Ablett's Gawn.
  15. Reported elsewhere on Demonland that Brad Miller might stay on in a role at the MFC which would also involve him playing with the Scorps.
  16. I don't suppose it's possible that you missed Max in the warm up, is it? Would appreciate scores and updates on the players.
  17. You left out Dermot Brereton and Peter Hudson. It would be foolish to concentrate our attention on who's out. When the siren goes it's a battle between our 22 and theirs and you can rest assured that whatever happens they will field more premiership players and a far more experienced team than ours. We need to plan our game around who they put on the track.
  18. Centrebet odds for the VFL flag: $3.75 Williamstown $5.00 Box Hill Hawks $6.00 Port Melbourne $8.00 Werribee Tigers $10.00 North Ballarat $14.00 Northern Bullants, Sandringham $16.00 Casey Scorpions $26.00 Coburg Tigers, Collingwood, Geelong, Gold Coast $81.00 Bendigo Bombers $151.00 Frankston
  19. Agree entirely with your comment about player numbers. Hope we're not kept in the dark this year.
