Ok Macca lets try a couple of weeks and see how we go. So thats tomorrow night. Im sure @Dee Zephyr can chime in as well for a pick. Wed into Thursday is good. The Euro soccer will be finishing up soon i guess, but yes by all means throw in anything you spot as a standout. The team pick is the go. 6000 posts....i really need to get a life!

Well thats kinda what i was referring to with the post before, about under -2.5 covering the draw. I was thinking about future choices. Its not often you find a way to cover a draw. I think a strike rate of 1 in 4 is very possible Macca and ive had times in the past where i have done just that. Perhaps we might have a go at the midweek games as well. Say a Wednesday night when they play Thursday morning our time? Last week there was quite a few.

Yep, thats what i really agree with. Its like our last collect based on a 10 outlay with a return of 220 or whatever it was means that if you STICK to your 10 outlay every week, then you can go for 20 odd weeks before you fall behind again. Thats nearly half a year, so its well worth the wait..... deposit, deposit, deposit....withdraw. Thats how i see it anyway.

I was just thinking about Soccerpools the other day. Entered it many times and somehow was responsible for me becoming a Liverpool supporter. I discussed this with DZ the other day. if you make your match selection under 2.5 goals, it does actually include the 0-0 draw. (as long as you dont select a team to win). yes 3 draws....what are the chances huh. In fact all 3 games in the Italia Serie A were all draws as well. Lets hope that means we dont get them for a while!

A Day at the Races
I think its terrible. A growing trend then. I agree, 2yos is just ridiculous. Its not about sport at all, just money. So many horses and we will never see their true potential, rather their perceived potential which as all us Landers know is a dangerous phrase. i wonder what the trainers like James Cummings really think about that. Their hands are tied i guess. Great win overnight, gotta love that.

A Day at the Races
Well Macca, at 2 yo i always thought they were a bit young to.....you know....well i sure was... The problem seems to be its a Godolphin horse. Like you say they are only interested in winning, not sport. So its more successful if retired to stud after a short but stellar career. Its progeny will sell for more for its Slipper heroics than if its an on again off again 3 yo. Its just crazy. Anyway thats what Richo or was it Bruce, were saying on the airwaves. So i guess its a wait and see atm. But probably just the one more race i would think.

A Day at the Races
Cummings said he would see how Microphone came out of Saturday’s race before deciding whether he would press on to the final leg of the juvenile triple crown, the Group One Champagne Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on April 20. It was supposed to go to stud after todays race according to ch 7. Would be great if they gave him 1 more race. Was beaten in the Slipper by a bog track really. It is the best 2yo i think.

Round 3 Non MFC games
I think its just that there are so many rules now, the modern game is simply over umpired.

A Day at the Races
I see. And Cummings also has his own horses as well i guess. So they have stables in both Sydney and Melbourne?

A Day at the Races
Also i was wondering, what is the exact story with Godolphin? I get that its some Saudi Shiek etc but how does it work? Is Cummings their only trainer, or is it like a stable with multiple trainers etc? I sort of missed that when it all started. Their 2yos are have done very well lately.

Yes they sure are those guys. Great jockeys ageing gracefully, as Glen Boss proved today. Good luck over there. Im looking forward to our MB picks this week also.

A Day at the Races
I have a wise old mate who has a method of selecting horses. Its not by any means the be all and end all, but quite an interesting weapon in the armory. Its actually very simple. Look for a horse in a field that has had 3 runs since a spell and has a win or a place at its last start. (So X472 for example). I know you can argue against it, for example when stepping up in grade or distance, where the first 3 runs dont correspond with the next start, but you would be amazed at how many times it comes in. Also there is usually only a few runners who are on that number. A good example is the Doncaster today, where all 3 of the placegetters had those numbers. Brutal X362, Dreamforce X813 & Hartnell X532. Its simply a good gauge i think, but sometimes when im stuck for choices i lean towards that formula. Just putting it out there.

A Day at the Races
Not really bashing the jockey, just didnt think it was a great ride particularly. But its all good. Tough race. I agree with you on the umpire excuse though. ive never bothered with that one too much. Staying away from DL for a while. Pissants is being kind. Thank God we have our little Oasis here huh? Yeah Tye Angland the terrible things that have happened to jockeys over the years. Tommy Berrys brother as well. Lest we forget.
