  1. What would be easier for a young player, to freelance around in the midfield, off half back or in a foward pocket.... or play a key defensive role against the likes of Franklin, Reiwoldt, Farmer, Burton, Didak, O'Laughlin and Bradshaw and never once lower your colours, playing for a team that allows the ball to get down there plenty??? Should've got a nomination already, probably won't this week because the records will show that Bradshaw kicked 4, but everyone at the game will tell you there is no way Bradshaw had the better of that match up, even though he was averaging 8 goals a game over his last 3 against us.
  2. He wanted to enter the draft as soon as possible to avoid the Gold Coast. And obviously his family are very keen to see him stay in Victoria. Hopefully we can accomadate them. If the Bombers get up today, we should defintely be the last placed Victorian team at the end of the season, and should pick up Watts in the draft.
  3. I hate to pump up my own tyres , but i have been defending Dunn for weeks telling eveyone who was bagging him that he was becoming a tagger. Another game, another scalp. Well done Dunny.
  4. Nudge, easy on there big fella.
  5. I am obviously gunning for Watts, but i am glad now i don't feel the pressure for the to finish last to get the No.1 pick. As long as we are the lowest finishing Victorian team, that should be enough to secure ourselves J.Watts.
  6. Dunn took the smaller statured Foley when we played the Tigers, so i wouldn't be surprised to see him go with Simon Black this weekend who is a similar player, and who towelled us up at the Gabba earlier this year.
  7. Jack Watts will be our Jonathon Brown.
  8. Can anyone recall if the Cats dropped Josh Hunt for his famous head ducking incident a couple of seaons ago? I am not sure if he was, but i know that the Cats won a flag the next year with Hunt an integeral part of the team. I can understand the arguments for dropping him, however a highlighting of his ways in front of his teamates when doing the video review of the game i would have thought would be sufficient. Dropping him would really just be appeasing those outside the club walls calling for his head. Just as when a coach tells a player that they like his attack on the ball but if his continual poor disposal continues he will get dropped, i think the same would happen in reverse.
  9. And take into account that football hasn't been his no.1 sport and he has been playing school footy and not TAC, but is able to dominate at the carnival tells me he has upside.
  10. Another 5 goals for my No.1 with a bullet Jack Watts. http://www.afl.com.au/News/NewsArticle/tab...px?newsId=61961
  11. Myke Cook pick 38 in last years draft.
  12. If we can get Warnock in the PSD draft, i say we seriously look at Watts. You have to take into account he has grown up playing basketball as his no.1 or equal favourite sport with footy, which means with his upside once he is fully dedicated to footy should be enormous.
  13. Big Lance has been winning the "Boobies Prize" for Carltank over the last few years.
  14. I am looking foward to see how Dunn hopefully goes on Goodes this week. He has absolutely torched us in recent years and we have struggled to find a match up for him, using everyone from Godders to Bruce. Dunn with his size and speed should be an ideal match up for him.
  15. Realistically, not only are clubs not going to give up first round draft picks this year, we don't have anyone that we would want to trade for one, or that we could offload for one. I think you will find in recent years, players that have been traded for high draft picks have either wanted to leave(Ottens, Tarrant, Judd), or have been shipped out by their clubs due to other issues (Spider, Hall, TJ, Hay). I am not sure if we will have anyone demanding to be traded, and only those within the club would know if a player may get used as bait due to attitude problems.
  16. My point is it wasn't an effective tackle. How many times a game do you reckon players would have put in a long and hard chase over the weekends games? Should they all receive a nomination even though the didn't manage to lay an effective tackle. I am not having a go at Dunn, because it was a super effort to run past Brock and chase him down, but if it didn't actually achieve anything, then it is no different to any other hard run a chase a player puts in.
  17. Ling was drafted as a forward, maybe Geelong should have got rid of him. Rubbish post.
  18. Do the people who selected Dunn this week realise that Foley got a handball away whilst being tackled and Richmond goaled???
  19. I would have thought Dunn is devloping nicely as our no.1 tagger. Not getting a lot of the pill yet, but it will happen as he learns the caper. I still can't understand why people are trying to position him somewhere else. We have no one else capable(or willing) to play that role for our team. A premiership team is not made up of just players gathering possessions and going forward, you need players willing to sacrifice a bit of their own game for the good of the team to get results. This is why i applaud both DB for his vision of finally making the Dees a more accountable team which has a defensive mindset, and also Dunn for taking on a thankless role for the team.
  20. I have thought about this problem of so many ruckman too, and have contemplated that if the WCE don't finish bottom 2, could we consider a possible trade where we could swap our no.1 pick for their 3rd or 4th, and somehow package up deal that would also land us Daniel Kerr?
  21. How did Anderson give Morton a spray in his article about his ineffectiveness, but yet had him in his best players???? Yet did not have Garland. I am almost certain that the journos in games such as these which have no real bearing on the competetion, but just sit up in the press box gas bagging and will occassionally watch the game and then pick the best players by the stats.
  22. Can anyone explain to me how Jeff White gets in the best players for Melbourne in the official stats?
  23. Not a bad job by Dunn on Foley today. I didn't think it would be a good matchup due to the size differnce but Dunn definitely limited his effectiveness. Over time i think he will learn to win a bit more ball and know when to hurt his player going the other way.
  24. He doesn't seem to completely shank the ball as much as what Bruce does. I think his confidence is down, which is leading to his radar being a little off.
  25. I was also thinking Goldsack of Collingwood as well. Looked like a gun of late draft pick last year, but has struggled this year(not sure if this is due to injury though).
