  1. Doesn't drill it, on that point. He floats it in the direction of a player, regardless of where they are or who is around them.
  2. There was heavy market research done by the club in the off-season WRT the changing of our logo. I attended a session and won't/can't say any more because they asked us not to, but it looks like times are changing. I'd think the end of this season is more likely, because the club would have had their strategy for the coming season down pat a year ago.
  3. Sorry to see him go through that illness, but at least he has a dignified legacy. RIP Deano.
  4. Something to do with the salt content being good for cuts and scratches. The stuff to do with muscle recovery I'll leave to the pros, but there's definitely evidence for water being a low impact way of exercising. I'd say that the salt content, combined with the muscular effect means that teams hit the beach for recovery. They could probably do it in a pool, but it's a good team outing and a decent way to relax after a match when you don't want to be at the training ground. That's without mentioning how refreshing ocean air can be for tired bodies and minds.
  5. Everything's fine! Everything's fine!
  6. It said cleared of foot injury, save it for when the club starts talking about putting his season on ice. Then again, they said he could be back in a month last year and it took 6.
  7. I don't like the fact that a knee in the back has ruined his first year, and a stud in his foot almost put him out long term as well. The club has to stop talking about this kid, because love him as much as we do and as good as he could be - he is made of glass. The more we build him up as a Messiah - or in Roosy's case emphasise how he ISN'T one - the more the fans will be let down when he inevitably hurts himself again.
  8. I know Anna personally, and she does a ton of work supporting Burgs in getting his articles out. I think she runs the Twitter account and other email communications concerning media. Presumably Courtney Hart edits the videos they put up? The rest of them sound like corporate newspeak, but who here really knows?
  9. Jake Spencer looks a lot like Jim Stynes with the shaved head, uncanny. Cheers for the photos mate.
  10. I always thought he was a mid-sized defender-midfielder
  11. This was also done right at the start. Followed the group with Watts, Kent, Brayshaw, Terlich and McKenzie. The latter two really struggled to take it with one grab, Watts and Brayshaw were very good, Kent was outstanding. For reference, it was like that old drill that everyone used to do at the end of cricket training.
  12. You missed Jason Gram, mate.
  13. tune in radio was how i listened overseas
  14. Diagnosed with or affected by cancer?
  15. Two weeks ago, Cockatoo was being talked about as a bolter into the HIGH 20's. The problem with the bloody draft and being as high as we are is that the recruiters have easy options, but there's so much time between picks and draft that they attempt to be clever. Just take the best bloody footballers. Gysberts and Cook are the two guys I'm talking about. I still support the Toumpas selection, Watts is too soft but every chance to play 200, Morton was just shite. FWIW, it was only during draft week that we decided on Watts. Naitanui and Rich were the consensus picks before his championships.
  16. I'm going to believe that all this Cockatoo/De Goey/Lever stuff is people guessing, because I'm sick of Melbourne reaching. Take Braywhaw and McCartin, they're the best rated for a reason and we can't avoid to go high risk.
  17. The one where he gave Bontempelli two late goals
  18. Sign up this year. Jackson will know as well as anyone that we cannot afford a bad season. We have the structures in place, we've had two trade periods to try and turn the list around. Another bad season (5 wins or less), and people will stop renewing.
  19. I rate Macca as a development coach, but sounds like what Neeld tried to do with us.
  20. Think a three year deal would be fair for both parties. 2.7 over 3
  21. His reputation is finished, just move on.
  22. Of course, if you include a fit Clark. In reality, it's just Chip the forward out and Lumumba, Garlett and Frost in.
  23. Good. When Danners took over after a spoon year he immediately began talking finals. Setting your standards high can't hurt anymore than the last eight years have.
  24. 'He was just finding it so hard to deal with owing the club so much having been out for so long'. You make me sick, Mitch Clark.
