  1. Being told the MFC will never win another premiership because of what I wear to the game - I fail to see how adhering to the Long Room Dress Code impacts on the team's on-field performance. Years ago I had the pleasure of meeting legendary Demon stalwart Shaun "Duxy" Dux (see below) at the Cricketers Arms when we were all having Won Beer* after a then rare win (against GWS). Duxy stated that he thought that my jacket, collar and tie was part of what was holding the MFC back. However, Duxy did have the good grace to concede my point that if the players were all looking up in the stands to see what I was wearing then they really didn't have their minds focused on the game anyway. * Got home at 2am, wife was confused by my voicemail...she thought that I'd be home after one beer. Better days ahead Duxy!
  2. Admirable restraint. Unbridled decadence.

Good thinking @Luther. The introduction of the term Rubber Fist does however push the topic to a precipitous edge; vulnerable to certain infamous dungeon-dwelling Demonlanders.

Reminds of the soccer chant "he's here, he's there, he's every bl00dywhere"

  6. All the best to Dee's fans flying into WA from the non-lockdown states. I'm hearing that the WA border pass form is dauntingly comprehensive:

For the overall AFL, yes. For the MFC defenders - the Haymes Paint sponsored 'tight as 2 coats of paint" award!
  8. Jack Henry is a very very good footballer. Just as well too; heroically ugly.
  9. Hi @Superunknown, it was being recorded so it's possible that they may use it as content later.
  10. Members Zoom meeting with Maysie, Gary Pert, Troy Chaplin and Jim Plunkett. In summary: Maysie's hamstring is "all good", First thing this morning Troy Chaplin bought coffee for both Goodwin and Yze - aspersions were being cast as to whether this was a Machiavellian coaching takeover coup.
  11. I'm trying to spot @McQueen in there...looking for a bloke with a slab and a fishing rod.
  12. FFS Dees, can everyone stay away from the Salmon Mousse!

It's fine to have a different perspective SWYL, but please don't equate a game of footy to going to war. Most of us (fortunately) have no idea what it's like to be under enemy fire; I have mates that have been and they find the analogy to sport both laughable and offensive.
  14. Great to be having the cap space made available these long-term offers.
  15. I think it's a case of: We are Lenny Kravitz, and Caro is "Mr Cab Driver"

Thanks, which clubs do you (any anyone else who want to chime in) think would be most interested in his services?

Lately the WAGS have, in general, been getting better style advice. Which is a shame; it was much better when it was much worse!

Hmm, what do Demonlanders' think he'd net us, late 3rd round or 4th round pick?

Wow, sounds like she's the possessive type.
  22. Came home with a wet sail!

Classic stuff, thanks @FarNorthernD. Napoleon had his "Waterloo" moment - Geelong had their "Lindesfarne" moment. (and no I'm not referring to Lindesfarne Tasmania)
  24. I see it differently. Whilst the 22 (23?) on the day peak the summit, everyone whose played in the firsts during the year have been part of laying the groundwork.
