Watching the GWS/Carltank game yesterday reminded me of how far off the pace our mids and Gawny have been. So many GWS centre bounce hit outs were delivered on a silver platter to dangerous and open positions, or to a moving midfielder who didn’t break stride. One in particular was delivered so perfectly that the mid didn’t properly take possession of it for about 3-4 steps out of the circle - it was stuck on his bread basket while he rotated it ready for a pressure-free kick into the F50. Hoping that we can get back to a few more of those kind of centre clearances, feels like too much grunt work for the clearances that we have actually won lately

Clarry had a couple of Beamer moments this week - long bombs from the centre straight to the tall defenders. One in particular where he ignored a lateral player calling for the ball on his own, only to belt it forwards under pressure was very poor. could have been the result of being smashed in the head in that dirty deliberate second half stoppage.. bet that bloke doesn’t even get cited

Great, now a week of Bucks Bucks Bucks selling newspapers
-
I think I’d rather Weed just tackle Darcy at a contest though, over a free kick out of D50
-
Can we please just try kicking to the goalsquare? These OOB from 60 out are getting tiresome
-
QB is about Neale, not about Bucks. Let’s turn it back on in the third quarter, wrestle back the lead and get it done. really need to start linking some of these possession chains into positive forward entries, not long-bombs to packs in the pockets

Anybody else sick of watching the opposition sweep the ball out of the back of the centre square after a bounce?

Where’s TMac?

Need to move it out laterally. Pies are killing every forward handball

Clearances to forwards. Let’s go.

How good is it, now that we have the cattle, to be able to ‘just kick it’ and allow the contested beasts/marking targets time to get to the ball drop and create that contest! Light-years from the Brent Moloney ‘Belt it 60m from the centre circle to the loose defender’ days. Clear sign that our system is working. Side note: thought this would be a thread about an older skin returning for the site, or somebody asking CAC what he thinks of the top 3 draft picks at about round 11 -
Should have given the bloke the ‘stare down’, like that guy did with Goody at the Doggies preseason game!

Game day threads are purely cathartic, and should be treated as such. There is no grey, it’s either extreme elation or utter devastation. I enjoy reading through that stream of consciousness after a win, it’s always funny when the first 23 pages make it sound like a 6 goal loss and the last page is celebration of a 4 goal win.

Leadership and Zorko are words that don’t belong in the same sentence. Glad to see that Tom doesn’t cop a week for the silver service he provided Charlie with

This is exactly the area that he needs to correct. I constantly call out at my TV (and at games sometimes) ‘Who’s Next?’. Pressure becomes Implied Pressure when every opposition player in a sequence is being aggressively hunted, and then clean possession turns into a mess or you simply force a 50:50 contest on the wing instead of in the D50. Only works if every player is hunting and corralling their opponent with the ball. Weed can be guilty of the ‘run alongside the ball carrier around the boundary line’ game plan rather than ‘target the ball carrier and force a disposal’ game plan at times.

Sparrow shouldn’t go. If his name was Lance Franklin, we would still be hearing about how good the hit/block was, and I’d put money on James Brayshaw voice’s still being an octave too high this morning. No change. Give Langdon another week, so he can come in and destroy the second half of the season cherry ripe, Melksham to continue holding Viney’s spot until he comes back, Weed to hold his place in a winning team (you can see how hard his teammates are trying to build his confidence, at the start and end of games as well as during the game), and the only question is on somebody like Hunt from an injury perspective. I agree with another poster on here, in that Hunt looked very, very average in the first half, but Goodwin praised him so there must have been a job he performed that I missed

Jayden Hunt hold your tackles and start watching the players hips to see where they’re going
