  1. Angus Brayshaw is a very very very good player. Star qualities in many ways. Mfc draft #2 pick ... lock it in.
  2. Likely that either Evans or JT will move to rookie list. IMO any of the following players like Gore, Drummond, Wilkinson, Langdon would be worth it.
  3. Nathan Drummond looks ideal selection at #40. 19yo (20 in January'15) 181cms 84kgs Physically mature Good pace Beep test shows endurance and quickness versatile mid / small Hbf Shepparton boy Ex Melbourne Grammar
  4. Likely either JT or Evans will be dropped to rookie list to enable pick 40.
  5. Yes Ed Langdon would be handy. I thought he would be 25-30 so if he slides, MFC would snap him up.
  6. and smoky Lukas Webb, Gippsland, Brad Green-like med HFF goalkicker.
  7. All, it looks like Oscar Mcdonald has done a Zac Jones and exceeded expectations this year. From a possible draftee, it seems he may be in the 20-30 draft range. The irony is that GWS may select him at pick 23 !! For pick 40 on current estimates and phantoms, I think we can look at - Nathan Drummond, Bushrangers, 19yo utility speedster - Dean Gore, Sth Aust, tough inside mid. - James Rose, Sth Aust, highly skilled, tall mid/HFF - Daniel Mckenzie, Oakleigh, athletic tall mid. - Tom Wilkinson, Sandringham, rapidly improved, pacy wing/HFF
  8. Bazinga !!!!! Newton is a very good acquisition... ready to play.
  9. Putting JT on the rookie list now, allows us to use #40 in the draft. Allows us a Oscar Mcdonald, Nathan Drummond or Tom Wilkinson selection. JT is unlikely to play in 2015 & needs the time. But it should be advised we will promote JT back once he is medically fit to play post 2015.
  10. Agree ... Duggan is a lock at pick 10-12.
  11. Rjay ... I have watched all the Vic metro, Vic country, SA and WA championships matches (including 3 of the Vic metro games live). Laverde is not a punt.
  12. MFC TAKE NOTE ... don't be seduced by AFL.COM Paddy McCartin marketing exercise. He is a punt. We don't need to take punts. Laverde has all the requirements to be a STAR. We need his talent, pace, skills and direct style. Too good to miss.
  13. Now he is a delisted free agent, we need to grab Ben Newton. He has the ability. We have the spot, the need & the cash.
  14. Next move is to downgrade Trengove to Rookie list Then add Ben Newton as DFA keep Draft picks 2,3, 40 #53 as Jetta upgrade
  15. back to 2&3... Brayshaw at #2 Lever / Wright / Laverde at #3 in my opinion I think Petracca will go #1. McCartin at #5-8 for me.
  16. Remember Lucas Cook ... You do NOT pick by position. I want the best players.
  17. Warning. Agree another key forward would be good but - McCartin is only 193cms - stronger than TAC full backs but not bigger mature AFL types - health issues - prior injuries - ok kick but more of a 50/50 kick for goal - weight issues One dimensional. Laverde or Wright are better options.
  18. One to watch... needs more physical development. Not AFL standard yet. Maybe more of a 2016 rookie once he has 2 years in VFL system.
  19. Its a big YES from me if we land Ben Newton. I think he will walk into our best 22 ...
  20. I think we should cut Tapscott & Evans today and agree to pick in the rookie draft. Both injury hit and we need room for picks 2,3, 40 & 53
  21. Laverde is no Blease... he attacks, defends, creates, evades and is bigger ... has the same pace.
  22. Brett Eddy ...at 53 for me. Mature 23yo skilled 193cm forward. Gunston like.
