  1. I think Lamb has announced our intention. Tomlinson has not been offered a contract for 2025 and we are happy that he ā€œgets an opportunity elsewhereā€. There will be no trade. IMV clubs won’t sign him as a UFA but wait for the likely delistings, and sign as a Delisted Free Agent.
  2. Clarry is staying
  3. Freo overpaid for Bolton. A flashy player but he’s no star. Effectively Freo gave up 2 x first round picks for him. Wow. Tigers are Big Winners from this !!!
  4. Tall forwards … JVR, Petty, Turner, Fullarton, Jefferson, Kentfield Smart forwards… Fritsch, McAdam, Sestan Small forwards… Pickett, Chandler, Spargo (Kolt) (Laurie) that’s enough admittedly Petty should play CHB but fills in at CHF admittedly Turner is a forward or a defender admittedly JVR yet to fully grab the footy but he’s still young admittedly Jefferson shows signs but the ghosts of Weideman remain
  5. Pies are laughing !!! Port talked a tough stance. ā€œ2x FIRST round picks only !!ā€ ā€He’s contracted for 3 more yearsā€ ā€Happy to stay if no dealā€ ā€not taking that dealā€ then it’s fine and done next day Port are clowns effectively given up Houston for 13 (16) and 29 (34) - yes middle/late 1st round and middle 2nd round pick. Wow. effectively traded away future 1st round for Lukosius. effectively given up Houston to a competitive premiership opponent Helped Suns offload $1.3m off their salary books by taking Lukosius and Atkins who often weren’t in their best 22.
  6. Sharp is more likely to play half forward and replace ANB as a hard working up and back type role. His endurance and good pace should allow him to slot in for round 1 2025.
  7. Great news…welcome aboard Harry šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘ He’s the type of player needed and type of trade (22yo, 4 years in system) that can come in straight away and still improve and improve. Elite endurance. Run and carry and kick type of player. Can play the ANB type role. Been behind some high quality players at Lions. Move to the Dees should give him the opportunities he needs.
  8. Lions. Come on. It’s a fair deal. 49 for Sharp and 66. Gets them extra points. They don’t need Sharp. He’s stuck behind too many. He will get a fair run with MFC. Moves into our best 25 straight up in my view. Fits the high half forward role vacated by ANB.
  9. Lalor or Langford at 5. Lindsay or Travaglia at 9. The options here bring in two high quality youngsters. With Kolt and Windsor from 2023, it’s the ā€œRebuild on the runā€. Now we pray for Jefferson over the summer šŸ¤žšŸ¤žšŸ¤žšŸ¤žā€¦ gets some aggro pills and puts in a huge preseason in the gym & on the track.
  10. Pies get their man ffs
  11. Dees likely to get Houston Dees turmoil and Houston likely to stay at Port Houston back in the market Pies do the deal to win the dual All Australian Pies salary cap just keeps on getting bigger and bigger I really really hate the Pies … so much more if that’s even possible.
  12. ā€œWe're still working through that. They're working through what they require in terms of points with their academy players. We're hopeful of bringing Harry in." - Tim Lamb on Harry Sharp Lamb was really bullish on Sharp given he is a high end endurance footballer. Holds the 2km combine time trial record 5m28secs by 20 seconds!! Other comments addressed that Sharp can play wing or half forward, and fills a need given Nibblers departure and Hunter retirement. He is a in a strong footy club but behind good players in Lions setup. Lamb was hopeful. I think pick 49 is fair (hope we can get Sharp and pick 66 back but it’s academic if Lions hold off). Lions working through their pick points accumulated to get Ashcroft & Marshall.
  13. "I think that is looking fairly unlikely. We have thrown a few scenarios at the Giants. We'd like to bring Wade (Derksen) to the club but it will be difficult to sort out." - Tim Lamb, Melbourne List Manager
  14. Ouch. I’d say more Josh Kelly like… and we don’t have one of him.
  15. It will be interesting. Smillie is now the wildcard pick given he’s slipped down most of the media predictions for top 5. Was certainly equal 1st with Jagga Smith as the start of the year. As I put in another thread, he’s defensive side got exposed at the championships and he didn’t show his true capabilities. But he has very good skills, wins contested footy, kicks goals, kicks it 50-60 easily and has that 5-10 metre burst needed in the midfield. He could be an absolute elite player. At 194cms, he’s a ā€œCrippsā€ like type of player.
  16. @Nascent agree … presumably Tigers take Lalor at 1, then think Dees will choose Langford at ā€œ5ā€ (or vice versa) Tigers could then also get Smith at ā€œ6ā€. Might see Kangas try to split 2 to get say 6 & 14 off the Tigers. Tigers could then guarantee themselves Lalor & Smith and a huge PR exercise with picks 1,2 draft combination. Kangas could get Tauru at 6 and get another player like Shanahan at 14. Fixes their key back and key forward outlook in one swoop.
  17. Oliver to Geelong in 2025 trading. AFL media bottom feeders will run this story for the next 12 months. It’s the bushfire that won’t go out !!!
  18. At 9, hope for either Lindsay, Travaglia or Tauru. Each are also very special youngsters with definite AFL quality futures. Each would also be ready for AFL in 2025. Josh Smillie is an absolute wildcard for me. I’d be doubtful if he gets past the Saints. At start of the year, he was a possible number 1. His form was generally very good and he dominated Coates league footy. But his championships games were average and I think clubs saw his defensive skills as lacking. But his talent is undeniable. 194cms big and strong and good burst across first 5 metres. Kicks it 50-60 metres easily. His centre clearance work is Cripps like. Whoever gets him and then puts the necessary extra physical conditioning into him, could get an absolute steal and a future great.
  19. Dees should hold at 5 & 9 at 5, it’s about who slides, it should be either Lalor, Langford, O’Sullivan, Smith or Draper. Tigers at 1 have to choose between Smith, Lalor or Langford. I think Blues will want O’Sullivan and Crows will grab Draper. So it’s probably out of Smith, Lalor or Langford option. All have excellent futures ahead with exceptional talent. at 9, hope for either Lindsay, Travaglia or Tauru. Each are also very special youngsters with definite AFL quality futures. Each would also be ready for AFL in 2025. Josh Smillie is an absolute wildcard for me. At start of the year, he was a possible number 1. 20. Sounds like he is off to West Coast. Part of the mega deal for the Blues to land pick 3 and try to grab Finn O’Sullivan.
  21. So many options at pick 5 and pick 9. The top 15 ā€œavailableā€. are very good quality , being mostly midfielders but also taller types like Armstrong, Trainor, Tauru and Shanahan. Sam Lalor- GWV. mid/utility Finn O'Sullivan - Oakleigh. mid/utility Harvey Langford- Dandenong. tall mid Sid Draper - Sth Adel. mid Jagga Smith - Oakleigh. Mid. 24. wtf. Suns are crazy at trading. Why do the Pies get Houston for a future 1st and Noble. That’s it??? Wow.
