May to Tribunal
Steven May has been given a three-match ban by the Tribunal after a 3+ hour case. They said that he had sufficient time to slow himself in the contest and didnāt do so Comments: Now itās pull out of the contest and let the opposition get an easy goal No sane person that has ever played the game could come to that conclusion. Game is forever broken now. How in the world could he slow down when it was the last bounce up that did him? Which was less than 0.5 of a second to stop That is the worst decision, will change the game and no longer will players be able to make tackles at all. Games dead and dusted "sufficient time" is the dumbest s**t they could say tbh May has been absolutely thrown to the wolves here. What Pearce done was 10x worse. Left the ground, put his arm out. The AFL is a corrupt pack of dogs - they pick and choose who they suspend. So they wanted him to squib it. They agreed it wasn't a bump so he's been reported and outed for 3 weeks for not being a squib. The most amateurish professional sporting organisation in the sporting world. How the hell did he āhave sufficient timeā - & Iām not even a demons supporter. Appeal it Melbourne and set the standard. Completely fine to knee someone in the back after a mark (intentionally) and push a player into the bench while outside the field of play. Thatās wrong and he must go to the appeals board. Blatant and egregious error. canāt accept this one, heās gone the ball, got their first and get 3 weeks because of the accidental contact. Play a contact sport but rub anyone out based on outcome, soft. Itās a 0.0005 second to make the decision!!! he thinks he will get there first but the ball pops up and he gets there 0.0005 second too late

May to Tribunal
Anderson: May's attempt to win the ball was entirely realistic. Anderson says the Dees "fundamentally disagree" with the idea it was clear Evans was going to get there first from a few steps out.
-
May to Tribunal
Anderson says Jackson Archer had "significantly more time" to respond in his incident than May did.

Jeffrey Gleeson a 30-year magpies member. I question his judgement He got Maynard off He got Maxwell off

May to Tribunal
Anderson is now referencing Alex Pearce's successful Tribunal hearing. Gleeson notes in that case they found Pearce acted late to try and minimise impact, which could he says be different in this matter. Thatās not true. Pearce keeps his arm straight and that saved him. He still made strong contact, not minimal!!! By the way, Gleeson is a magpies supporter

May to Tribunal
Adrian's nine reasons⢠1 - May contesting the ball 2 - Legitimately expected to get to the ball first. Has his hands out, expecting he can get to the ball first 3 - Both travelling at pace, reasonable for both to do so 4 - Unexpected bounce of the ball on its fourth bounce 5 - By the time he realises Evans is there, itās too late to slow or change momentum significantly 6 - Doesnāt move off line 7 - Doesnāt tuck elbow in or rotate, doesnāt jump off ground. 8 - Attempts to slow at the end, even though itās too late. 9 - May significantly taller than Evans

Listening earlier to Adrian Anderson ⦠he is a clown. Why do we use him ?

May to Tribunal
Steven May did just about everything right when he collected Francis Evans on the weekend ā and yet he's still off to the tribunal. Itās a disgrace. The ball pops up and May is already committed. He thought he could get to the contest and likely should have if the ball runs on In 0.0005 second he braces !! Thatās not Careless. Thatās incidental or better described as Accidental!!! He keeps his eye on the ball !!

May to Tribunal
Melbourne will use the Alex Pearce tribunal case tomorrow and argue it is even more relevant because the ball was in the air when Pearce contested. For Steven May, who will testify, it was a slippery bouncing Sherrin that he believed was going to get to him before Francis Evans. Tribunal boss Jeff Gleeson said after he let Pearce off that not every concussion is caused by careless contact. Melbourne believes it has a compelling case and if May's suspension is upheld it will lead to total confusion in ground-ball incidents when two players are hitting a contest at the same time

He did look like a player. šBlues will add a good one to their list.

Judd McVee contract
Ok Twomey is probably the best of the bunch ⦠but itās a very low bar. They all throw random darts and some hit but many miss. The gutter starts at the bottom with the deep-mud-crawler Sam the grub McClure.

Trade Targets
We need to nail 1 or 2 players in a trade/FA period, then 2 more in the draft and add White and Sinnema. Surely we are taking to the Hawks about Henry Hustwaite. Young mid who is squeezed out of their midfield even before Day comes back. Offer him a sweet 3 year deal and could be a good chance.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
@Whispering_Jack @dazzledavey36 thanks. I think the talent pool is āless, lowerā and also highlighted by the many many academy, NGA or father son picks. Up to 10 first rounders could be already pre-nominated so the āfirst roundā could stretch to pick 28 or 29 this year. I have a few smokies that could be good value for the Dees in the 2nd or 3rd round. Itās these picks that also can prove a recruiters value. I thought Sinnema looked okay and I think we will nominate and add him, maybe as a late pick or as a cat B rookie. He has class with the footy in hand. Heās not an instant walk up and will need time. But a skill ball user is something we need to add.

Welcome to Demonland: Luker Kentfield
Three things we like about Kentfield He marks the ball with sure hands and at its high point He kicks with balance and simple straight forward style He has footy aggression with the ability to take a contested mark or crash a pack. Since the backline folly has ended, his return to the key forward position has been impressive. He can keep developing at Casey over the next 5 weeks but yet still might get a debut before year end ⦠with no pressure.

Trade Targets
Missed the point. It was to bring in experienced players who add to your best 22. We lost players year on year and never replaced them. We have taken a strategy to not consolidate as a top team but gamble with the chance to get youth in. āAll the top selections are okā (?) Iād argue that ⦠yes to JVR, Windsor, Lindsay and Langford. Kolt and Jeffo are highly doubtful. The main point was that we added players that were barely VFL players at other clubs and didnāt strengthen our best 22. We have got weaker year on year since 2021. We were a potential destination club for players to come to for a shot at a premiership. Not any more !!!

Harley Reid] and his family have made it clear they do not want to go to a struggling club." ā St Kilda ā Melbourne ā Essendon ā North Melbourne We are now a āSTRUGGLINGā Club with sub par training facilities. Attract Reid? Attract Butters? Thatās far from possible. Pre 2021 Hibberd, Lever, May, Melksham, Langdon, Tomlinson, Brown all improved our list Since 2021 premiership Weāve lost Jackson, Brayshaw š, Hibbo, ANB, Jordan, Harmes, Bedford , Hunt Added ⦠nil. donuts. no one !! We have added no one. Iāve heard the Salary Cap used as an excuse. Itās an excuse for lazy trading. Grundy was a punt that didnāt pay off and was a long shot at best. Schache, Billings, McAdam. Fullerton. Lazy trading. Free agents brought in ā¦

Joe Daniher - worth a knock on his door?
Joe Daniher. Seriously. Who was drunk and thought this was the best idea?? He left the Bummers and moved to Brisbane because he didn't want to be in the fishbowl of the Melbourne frenzy on footy !! Loves the relaxed Byron Bay life.
