  1. Chad Warner. Huge last qtr
  2. And … MELBOURNE is set to be without Aimee Mackin during the 2024 season after the Irish recruit tore her anterior cruciate ligament playing Gaelic football in Ireland this week.
  3. Clubs worked out the zone within a short period of time. They also worked out not kicking high to May and Lever.
  4. Purcell. Facial injury Harris. Shoulder Pearce. Hand all out for the season missing from last year too … loss of West, Gay, Birch, Sherriff in the bizarre “ let’s rebuild strategy” so that’s 7 missing from best 21 of last year !!!!
  5. So they lose in the preliminary final in a cruel ending after the siren … and after missing 4/5 shots for goal !!!
  6. Dees were guarding grass and hoped their zone would cause turnovers. Hawks applied pressure to the man at the contest and tackled to cause turnovers. Simple game footy. Wish Goody sat next to me so I could point it out. The zone defence style is dead. Watch the Freo games x2!!!!
  7. How did Jean-Luc Vellissaris miss out on the All VFL squad? Clearly one of the best players in the league and carries the Bullants.
  8. Agree DD36. I can only get to see a few minutes streamed today but try to catchup during the week. Obviously Hynes and Langford should dominate and will watch them closely. Unfortunately for the Power, their skipper Xavier Lindsay is injured and will miss the rest of 2024. He is an elite ball user across midfield or halfback and plays like Josh Kelly. Should be drafted pick 9-12 in my view. He might be the player the Dees try to trade the future 1st round 2025 to get access to a second first round pick this year.
  9. Actually Cats and Hawks are the masters of the NRL pass. Clearly throwing the footy but not getting caught. Libba did it once last night and somehow was called for throwing the ball. He might have said something but remembered the dissent rules!!!
  10. From the 2018 finals, the past 5-6 years rebuild has been built on the combination on many things Development from the existing core group & youth: Sicily Worpel Impey Nash Moore Hardwick Morrison Lewis* wiser heads to guide: Gunston Breust early draft picks: Ward Watson. Weddle Macdonald Day*Mckenzie* smart recruiting from other clubs: Frost Chol Scrimshaw Meek Amon Ginnuvan D’Ambrosio smart mature bodies: Newcombe Father sons: McGuinness. Dear. NGA zoning Jiath* ———————————————- * didn’t play last night … Day, McKenzie , Jiath and Lewis to add to that team that smashed the bulldogs also have Seamus Mitchell, Butler, Grainger-Baras and Ryan as other youngsters who had excellent years at box hill and could come in. though it’s probably also due to Sam Mitchell drive and smart footy IQ and connection. Let them play attitude!!
  11. Yes. Its GEORGIA CAMPBELL’s time. I’m unclear if the Dees can sign an injury replacement for the ruck !!!
  12. 6/9/24. Lauren Pearce has been forced to the sidelines with a scaphoid fracture. Ruck Pearce sustained the injury during the Demons’ final training session of the week, with scans later confirming the extent of the damage. “Unfortunately, we will be without Lauren for an extended period, due to an injury she sustained in a spoiling incident on Thursday,” Mulholland said. “Lauren will require surgery and at this stage, we expect her to be available to play again in six weeks. “It’s really unfortunate news for Lauren, but we know she will attack her rehab with the utmost professionalism, and do whatever she can to help and support her teammates from the sidelines over the coming weeks.”
  13. I’d try to appeal to JT to get some good left footers with elite kicking skills. Working for the Hawks right now !!!
  14. Yes I think Bo Allen is very impressive and I would rank 16-17. He has good size as a mid and skills. Davis at 25-29. He’s a good runner and wins the footy. It’s his kicking that might be a knock on him just imv.
  15. And recruit decent players on the upwards trajectory from other clubs … not wage stackers on the decline like Hunter, Billings and McAdam. Tim Lamb 🤮🤮🤮🤮

  17. Bont ???? JAMARRA ??!!!!
  18. Bont Where are you???
  19. Yes I think he has pushed up to the mid 20s range now. If the Dees get that pick 25 off the crows (ANB + MFC #51 -> Crows #25) then the following players are probably in the frame… Hamish Davis, Jesse Dattoli, Harrison Oliver & Christian Moraes.
  20. With 18 teams each playing 23 games in a 24-round season, all clubs are hit with ‘double-up’ match-ups, where certain sides play games against each other twice during the year. The AFL uses a ‘weighted rule’ to determine who plays each other twice, breaking the 18 teams into three groups: the top six teams from the previous year’s ladder (based on finals results), the middle six and bottom six. Teams then play teams that finished in their bracket on the ladder more often - though this rule is rubbery at best !!! Top six: Swans, Power, Cats, Giants, Lions, Dogs Middle six: Hawks, Blues, Pies, Freo, Bombers, Saints, Bottom six: Suns, Dees, Crows, Eagles, Kangas, Tigers so we should perhaps play 2x Suns, Tigers, Kangas, Bombers, Freo, and Lions AFL to really shaft us 14th place gets us in the frame for regular Sunday schedule okay locked in likely fixture to include Donut “round zero “ bye 🤮round 1 away Sat night 7.40 versus Cats at GMHBA Cattery 👻round 2 home MCG Sunday 1.10 v Dockers media to run stories in Dees low home game attendance 😤round 3 Away - Friday night 7.40 to Lions at Gabba -95% humidity and then a lightning storm hits the ground 👻round 4 Home game during Adelaide-fest magic round weekend at Mt Barker v Eagles on Sunday at 12.45pm 🤮round 5 Away - Kangas Saturday 12.45pm in Hobart 👏👏round 6 Home game MCG v Tigers on Thursday 7.40 Anzac Eve media to run story on Dees low home game attendance Round 7 bye 🤮round 8 Away v Port Power on Thursday night 7.40 👻round 9 Home game MCG v Giants at 1.10pm on Sunday / Mother’s Day media to run story on Dees low home game attendance 👻round 10 Home game MCG v Suns at 1.10pm media to run story on Dees low home game attendance 🤮round 11 away game v Saints at marvel 3.20pm Sunday afternoon 👏👏round 12 Home game MCG v Pies for Kings Birthday Monday round 13 bye to be continued
  21. Just bumping this for discussion Question… would Parfitt be a possible replacement for ANB as a half forward? 🤔🤔 presume Cats prefer others and he might see better opportunities with MFC. Query is why is he only playing half the year and in/out senior team. Due diligence obviously!!! Future 3rd round pick 🤨 CAT TO LEAVE... BUT NEW HOME UNCERTAIN Geelong onballer Brandan Parfitt is expected to leave the Cattery at season’s end, but whether he locates a new home isn’t certain. The 26-year-old has played 130 games since debuting in 2017 and was a part of Geelong’s 2022 premiership after being called up late for an injured Max Holmes, and he is eligible for unrestricted free agency this year. Parfitt has managed just nine senior games in each of the past two seasons and reportedly doesn’t have a contract offer on the tablefrom the Cats. However, while a departure seems imminent, a destination for Parfitt is less clear. “He looked for a new home,” Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph told Fox Footy’s Midweek Tackleon Tuesday night, before reeling off a couple of potential landing spots. “Melbourne wants to bring in experienced midfielders, West Coast is open to free agents like him and Jack Graham.
  22. Yes sometimes it takes the 4th or 5th year after the draft to actually rate the elite top picks or the depth of a draft. This year from attending a handful of Coates League games live, others online and watching the online videos of the championship matches, I think this years group has a deep of talent. There is an elite group of mids, but also down in the 40s and 50+ others are definitely worth an AFL opportunity imv.
