Lots of talent in the Suns and Lions Academy programs. One youngster who should be marked in PEN on JTs list is Harrison Bridge. Left footer half back who starred in early Coates league matches for Lions academy. Averaged 20 possessions, 5 marks and 3 tackles a match across the 4 games played by the young Lions. Kicking is elite at DE80-90% and can kick 50+ easily Unfortunately he got injured early in the under 18s championship in the first game for the allies v SA. Bridge played some QAFL games as well and excelled for Sherwood. AFL Lions probably use most points for Daniel Annable so Bridge might be beyond them at a later pick. One to highly consider.

Listened to the show last night on the way home from a country trip. @Demonland Thanks again for the pod. Even with George absent and Binman overseas on holiday, you put together another excellent, informative, passionate and entertaining show. Agree with @binman about Kangas being a disgrace for appealing the Xerri hit on Sparrow. Pathetic. Disgraceful incident. Ridiculous to appeal. He was lucky to get 3 weeks on a careless act. It was reckless and deserved 5 weeks. He knocked Sparrow out with a swinging arm. And yes “Harvey Langford” does have future captaincy written on him. Don’t want to put pressure on him but he’s got the footy ability and character to be a future leader. Agree we need to keep Melksham on board. Another playing year and then keep him as a coach and mentor to our younger players. He’s clearly got footy IQ and will be an asset to the club. Thanks again Andy and Binman

Saw off the challenger !! Loved his goal from his special spot outside50 and loved him flying the flag against the sniper Xerri 3.Melksham was incredible again. So smart. Old Age? What’s that?? He’s the only player still that I have confidence in when kicking for goal. 4.Chin was good. Added Pressure. Tackling. Hit the scoreboard. That’s what he needs to bring every week on his role. 5. Harvey Langford. Love the kid . His composure is beyond his years. Battles in the contest . He will eventually be an inside mid star once he gets a few pre seasons. 6. Jack Viney. 9 tackles again. Maximum effort. Had a good first half. He actually hit 2 or 3 targets today 7.Effort from JVR and Jeffo was okay. That’s the competitive standard. They are still needing lots of development but we need to give them a go. Jeffo’s kicking let him down again and that needs work 8.Trac getting back to near his best. Good at the contest. He can get back to his beast mode in my view …BUT his delivery inside50 is still horrible and his handballs to put others under pressure and missed tackles are costly Room for improvement… 1.Lever. Looked slow again and caught twice when he was so slow to get rid of the footy. Not sure he stays in when May returns 2.Mcvee lost most of his contests and struggled against Curtis (until Curtis got injured). Again his injury set him back and he’s still a key player going forward 3.Kolt looked lost or disinterested at times. Failing to chase on 2 or 3 occasions was a bad sign. Not sure he stays in for next week I had hoped we would get an intense aggressive goalkicking youngster 4.Goodwin. Allowed Mckercher to run loose as a quarterback half back. 20 possessions to half time. Had a lot of kick run and receive without pressure. Others like NWM and Sidebottom etc would destroy us if allowed such freedom. 5.We lost the centre clearances. 11-17. Roos minus Wardlaw and LDU so had a 2nd strength midfield in Phillips, Powell, Simpkin and beat us Xerri 🤬🤬🤬 Hope Tom Sparrow is okay. It was a nasty hit by Xerri. The ball was below Sparrows knees when he gets hit. It was Reckless (at least Careless) High & Severe impact so 3 weeks minimum at least !!! Should get 5 weeks !!
