  1. Like that “5” should get us an high quality youngster likely a midfielder. Agree that Hynes will be sought after given his physical style of play, good size, pace over 5-15 metres is excellent. His kicking can be wayward so that’s why he’s in the 18-25 draft range and not 3-8 range. Strategy could be in the mix (if we get “25” for ANB) to package up some picks to try to pickup say “18” off the Lions (lions want points to bid on Ashcroft & Marshall).
  2. Assume Cats will grab McHenry. He’s a local lad (Barwon Heads) with talent who just didn’t quite make if however has the talent. Will Hamill could not get his body right. Saw him play some decent games for Crows but kept getting injured and he again didn’t show enough to often retain his place. Might get a train on spot over the summer. Bayside boy from the Mornington peninsula so expect Frankston or Casey to sound out his signature in the off season.
  3. Thanks @DeeZone it’s been constant dialogue that our Kozzzy loves the footy club and Goody, but not Melbourne the city. Yes he will probably eventually leave one day but not yet. We love Kozzzy ❤️💙❤️💙❤️
  4. Basically it’s another jigsaw puzzle jumble. Lalor at 1, Ashcroft at 2, big mover Tauru at 3, Smith at 4, Langford at 5, Kako at 6, O’Sullivan at 7, Smillie 8, Lombard 9, Draper at 10. Armstrong at 11 and noted they have Reid falling to 18. It’s such an even group possessing all variety of footy skills, athleticism and strengths. The combine interviews to work through the Character and Fit will be keys to which clubs pick these young stars. footnote. If Lalor is gone by our pick , if we get either Langford or Draper or O'Sullivan than it’s still happy days.
  5. 6. Isaac Kako Calder Cannons/Vic Metro Forward, 175cm, 7/3/2006 Talent League stats (avg): 18.7 disposals, 1.7 goals, 7.7 score involvements The Age’s August top 30: 12 Essendon may need to match a high opposition bid on their NGA prospect, with Melbourne strongly considering the dangerous small forward – or are they playing games with the Bombers? Either way, Kako, whose parents were born in Iraq, is considered a top-10 lock after a brilliant national under-18 championships. There should be no hesitation taking a sub-180cm goalsneak with Kako’s ability this high after Nick Watson’s impressive debut season. Kako is powerful, and has a knack for creating scoring opportunities and kicking audacious goals from seemingly hopeless situations. He can improve defensively, but can impact the game beyond the forward 50.
  6. 1. Sam Lalor GWV Rebels/Vic Country Midfielder/forward, 187cm, 30/8/2006 Talent League stats (avg): 23 disposals, 6.3 clearances, 6 inside 50s The Age’s August top 30: No.5 The next Dustin Martin could be on his way to Tigerland. Most recruiters who spoke to this masthead believe Richmond are weighing up Lalor or Finn O’Sullivan at No.1. Many non-Richmond talent scouts also rank Lalor that highly despite a serious hamstring injury ending his season amid a severely interrupted campaign. They are confident he will get on top of his physical issues in a full-time AFL environment, and with improved fitness. Lalor’s combination of power, physicality, kicking skills, game-changing ability and penchant for impacting the game as a midfielder and forward make him a closer projection to Martin than Christian Petracca.
  7. Nibbler. ANB 💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️
  8. Sounds more and more that Pert is the problem. Unsure why he is part of the review alongside Green. Sure an external review is needed by external parties in strong sports administration. Do we need Peter Jackson back ?
  9. A handy addition for Casey. Added as a break glass in case of a “Gawn” emergency. I prefer others but understand this strategy. Also adds training ruck partner for Gawn to compete in ruck drills in internal training.
  10. Waking up again and hoping this was just a nightmare. Unfortunately it’s all reality. Media loving ripping into the Demons again, admittedly feeding on the ineptitude of our player management and players discontent. The Oliver situation has been so messed up that a player with multiple B&F wins, All Australian jumpers, ranked top 5 player in the league through 21&22, can now get to be a horrible public deteriorating mess between club and player. Who’s the blame? Oliver? MFC ?? Seemingly it’s both parties and the Trust is Gone. Strangely with a Contracted player through to 2030, it’s the Cats that reportedly have the bargaining chips. Give us little draft picks & Cats will pickup most of the $1m+/yr contract OR Ask for future 1st round pick from Cats but with MFC still paying sizeable part of Clarry contract. Horrible horrible. Horrible. That’s the current status. Dees supporters are torn. And being torn.
  11. I am interested buyer of Fiorini. Any potential terms stated????!
  12. Jhye Clark is a local Geelong boy and alongside Bruhn and Holmes would be seen as their emerging future midfielders. Its likely to be a No.
  13. Fair enough. But strong rucks are hard to find and you don’t want to be left with a Soldo type as your messiah.
  14. Cats can offer us nothing except a salary dump opportunity. Maybe a future 1st and 2nd round pick. No players would appeal excepting for Holmes and he’s committed to staying at the Cats.
  15. @drdrake Highly skilled , high disposal efficiency kicks. Levi Ashcroft - draft range 1-2 Sid Draper 3-7 Xavier Lindsay 8-15 Jesse Dattoli 21-27 Harry Oliver 21-27 Blake Leidler 55-rookie Mitch Kirkwood-Scott 55-rookie Will Hayes 55-rookie
  16. Agree. I think the pick 25 from the Crows should be used on Dodson if he’s available. Serves apprenticeship over first two years. Wait and see.
  17. If Cats are the desired location for Oliver, then what’s the trade ? I heard it could be a future Cats 1st round pick and that’s it, and Dees still paying a decent amount of his contract. Cats were top 4 and add Bailey Smith. Could be premiership contenders already with or without Our Clarry. So with academy and father son picks, Cats future 1st would be likely to be say pick 17-21. Ouch.
  18. MFC best and fairest is on Friday night the 4th October. @Young Angus Cheers.
  19. Thanks. I am backing in the coaching group to make the right call. Not the CEO Pert. It’s Goodwins call.
  20. @manny100 No doubt Riv and MCVee will train with the mids this pre season. I agree they have midfield potential but both played junior footy in the national championships as defenders … running half backs. Both have been very very good as Rivers rebounding defender with spirit and heart and McVee with composure and defensive smarts against small forwards. We have to be careful not to rob our backline as we lack a replacement rebounding half back or a steady composure mid-small back pocket. I’m happy with trialling but prefer them in their current roles. Draft 2 or possibly 3 young specialist mids in this draft. They are there across many draft rounds.
  21. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/9beBErUftjdj2eNc/?mibextid=D5vuiz JJ running through draft and trades. Noted good drafting by Taylor over many years (perhaps only questioning Jefferson) but very poor trading over the past two years … zero out of 6. Grundy ❌ Hunter ❌ Schache ❌ Fullerton ❌ McAdam ❌ Billings ❌
  22. “We need to put Melbourne's list management team in the gun for what is the worst contract we have ever seen. There is $10 million left on this deal for 6-years. He has lasted one year of the 7-year deal." - @kanecornes on the Clayton Oliver deal. AFL TRADE RADIO
  23. Deep breath. It’s difficult. I agree it’s gut wrenching !! We love the MFC. We are a kicking bag right now, as through many issues from js29 to Trac to now Clarry, it appears to be in completely mismanaged.
  24. He found a niche in leadership consultancy after footy. Somehow all the footy clubs bought his cool aid and he’s leadership roadshow travelled through the league and other bodies. The Dees were his biggest fan and sponsor and we bought onboard for the people and culture development. That was going well however strangely over the last 2 years, it is alleged we have a toxic culture. Not sure how Plunkett has managed or been part of a solution or is part of of the problem. Only internal people will ever know. But we have to say thanks and good luck. He’ll keep his leadership development mantra and march on.
