  1. Agree. The success rate within the top 30 picks has been the sweet spot. Trading of players and picks has worked to try to get two and three picks within that range . JT has nailed these with stars within the β€œtop 10” and then backed up with successful 2nd rounders.
  2. https://www.afl.com.au/news/687290/cal-twomey-s-phantom-form-guide-top-draft-prospects-november-ranking interesting reading through how players have shifted through the year Jacob Van Rooyen certainly presents as a very good option with his athleticism and ability to play forward or back. MFC can give him and other youngsters the time to develop and not be rushed like we did with other draftees. The luxury of a strong list helps us bring along youngsters at the right pace. Of course having Choco on board is a big bonus β€οΈπŸ’™πŸ†
  3. Agreed. Looking forward to Taj joining the Dees and giving it a real crack. Has the base to be a good player. Skills are there and we can take time to see him develop
  4. Welcome aboard Sally. Sounds like we will have the right governance and processes in place. Certainly need to ensure the off field finances are in order. πŸ†β€οΈπŸ’™
  5. Good write up. Thanks. In the 40s he would be worth a look.
  6. Yes either Draper or Sonsie as 1st round sliders would be very good additions for MFC. Versatile midfield or half forward types. Phantom feasibility is given each have been injured in 2021 and had reduced testing exposure, it’s possible they drift down to possibly be available. I thought we’d only have 4 picks including matching and including Woey junior
  7. Thanks and farewell. Byrnes made a valuable off field contribution as player development manager. Agreed on the delayed timing. Maybe it was a tough call given the Dees success. I agree Nev Jetta would have been the perfect fit for player development. I think the role at the Dees would be highly sort after and a few good candidates should emerg.
  8. Neale is a legend. Such courage. β€οΈπŸ’™
  9. This thread showed how keen the majority of DL were to get May. He’s proven to be a key part of our success. The great value of a strong key defender, able to shutdown the gorilla forwards from other teams. The recruitment of Lever and May has helped create us as the #1 defensive team in the comp. May is also a leader. A very successful trade despite the media pundits giving us grief over the β€œSuns getting Ben King” . The premiership is proof enough for me that May’s recruitment was a masterstroke.
  10. Definitely the Weid. He has been backed in by the club. Time to β€œwalk through walls” (anecdotally) over the summer and prove he wants it.
  11. Bang bang bang bang. Clarry is 5-star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  12. Love it. He’s definitely worthy of a knighthood in our eyes for contribution to the Melbourne Footy club.
  13. Tyler Sonsie not in the top 21. (?) He’s a talented young midfielder. Saw him in VFL game for box hill Hawks v Werribee and he was a standout. Thought he was top 8-12 quality in this draft.
  14. Looking back, he was an excellent draft pick by JT that mirrored the need by the footy club. JJ was the youngest player drafted in his year as he scrapped into the eligibility by 11 days. Had played school footy predominately and rose up the draft order on the back of his TAC cup GF performance. πŸ’™β€οΈGood skilled ball user πŸ’™β€οΈWins his own footy πŸ’™β€οΈGood character in JT we trust πŸ†
  15. Actually there was negative press about the Lions having NEDS as one of their prime sponsors. I wouldn’t be too keen on such sponsorship and having myself and the kids β€œpromoting such brands” through merch . Just my opinion. BTW I’m ok with Zurich .
  16. Love the MFC Twitter post yesterday on BBB From the news report on his trade through to the premiership celebration. What a year. A great story. Steven May summed it up when he celebrated with BBB after the siren. β€œHere he is. The big fella just bounced back to win a flag β€œ. Great stuff!! β€οΈπŸ’™πŸ†
  17. Totally agree. It’s Best Available at pick 17. No matter who that is (JVR, Chesser, Sinn, Sonsie, Wilmot or whoever) then we trust in JT. JT is a legend and is one of the key men behind our premiership. I’d like to see another youngster with skill and pace added to the midfielder but just that’s me. JVR would also be a handy young key position player to develop with time on our side.
  18. https://mosaicmemories.com.au/ check this out great team and individual framed product
  19. Good call. Yze and Choco working with the youngsters is a fantastic opportunity for these young men. Laurie ahd Rosman will effectively be new recruits all over again. We’ve seen the value of (Yze and Choco) mentoring and training the youngsters. The development, that was so lacking in prior years, is now such a strength.
  20. Agree. Sinn is a quality youngster. His left foot disposal and skill makes him definitely top draft pick about 10-12 ranked imv. Dees would have to trade up to get him (if he was available, he’d be a huge get). and agree - JT is a legend and will find a gem once again.
  21. Absolutely love it
  22. ?? because they are bigger bodied type midfielders (!?!?!).
  23. Thanks Nascent. Taylor looks a good young midfielder. Reminds me of Caleb Serong type from his draft year. A footballer.
  24. Bang bang bang bang !!!!
