Farewell Luke Jackson
Yes yes and yes Dees then use the pick to grab Aaron Cadman 👏👏👏👏👏

Culture
Culture is “How” you achieve. Dees certainly high on this scale. Making the right decisions on the right issues. But agree that winning helps, as losing breeds disappointment, frustration and often poor decisions.

2022 Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy
Clarry is a Champion. Absolutely one of our greatest players ever. Trac runner up and deserves high praise for another sensational year. Well spoken young man. Mayzy getting third is great recognition for his role and his backline leadership. Love his speech. Relaxed after a few “reds”.

“Uncle” Greg Stafford. The bloke at the pub or BBQ gathering that loves to tell funny stories. Yes I’d hope he had a few bevvies because … well he’s no comedian !! Just a query … is Stafford our “in need for dramatic improvement” forwards coach. My god, no wonder we kick to the deep forward pocket versus Cats/Swans/Magpies kicks to the hotspot on the top of the goalsquare. Hmmm. Anyway, congrats Tom Sparrow. Spargo and ANB equal coaches runners up award.

CHANGES 2022
Delisted: Rosman Retired: Daw, Mitch Brown (r) Gone (trade) : Jackson Probable delisting: Baker Probable free agent departure: Hunt Potential trade loss: Bedford Likely 1-year contracts through to retirement: Hibbo and Melksham * likely trade arrival - Brodie Grundy ** unknown /other targets???? Dees could end up with either two draft picks + Chandler upgrade OR up to four draft picks + Chandler upgrade.

Josh Corbett
AFL website - Dees have interest in Corbett alongside Bombers and Freo remaining as his likely destination. I should think we’d definitely push the make a 2-3 year contract offer under the “goalkicker wanted” signpost Melbourne also has some interest in Corbett ahead of a trade period

Trade and Free Agency rumours
agree. Ben Brown will be 30 at start of 2023 and struggling with a knee problem. 2023 is likely to be his last year. Tmcd will be 31.5 at start of 2023. He’s a warrior but in the fading light of his career presumably. Perhaps 2024 will be his farewell year. Dees need another forward to partner JVR - either through a trade (Georgiades, Corbett) , draft (Cadman or Gruzewski) or team redesign (Petty).

Farewell Brodie Grundy
What if we now say that we’ve gone cool on the idea!! Imagine the magpie panic !! They’ve committed to DEGOEY and MCSTAY. I think Dees will drive a tough deal. No first round draft pick conversation to be had. It’s Grundy for pick 32 and Pies pay 1/3 of his contract for the next 5 years (aka salary dump $600k a year on us). Of course, I’m still puzzled how the Grundy-Gawn combo works. Lots to work through. Some strategies are a real rotation and a forward-half back-half zone type strategy is mooted. Maybe Maxy is struggling with an injury and needs real support for ongoing physical relief. Not sure.
-
Farewell Jayden Hunt
Yes I think Eagles will have put up at least a 3year $350k a year deal to Hunt. At least!!! Could be a 4 year deal. And almost a “you are clearly in our planning and will be guaranteed a game” type promise.

Mitch Georgiades
It’s like “Kozzzy to Port”. Speculation and what if !!!

2023 Team
I like the intent @DeeZee Actually Salem was probably the worst offender in 2022 for delivery to the forwards. Really disappointed that he kicked high cloud-bursting forward entries with no pinpoint accuracy or intent. He’s one player we need fit and firing and hitting targets.

2023 Team
Ouch. Turner will play next year but not likely in round 1 Ouch. Salem on the wing. Stays at half back Ouch. Gawn as a half forward flank. why is the All Australian ruckman demoted from his best position. 🤮🤮🤮

Harry Sheezel
Smart. Skilled. Classy. Forward or mid. Sheezel is top 5 quality. Definitely have to do a super trade up to get this kid.
-
Farewell Jayden Hunt
He played every game up to round 22 and got injured. However despite being finally fit for the GF, it was clear that MFC and Goody weren’t going to change the team through a winning finals campaign.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
@IvanBartul13 thanks for the updated listing. Certainly agree that Max Gruzewski from the Chargers could rise up to be a top 14-15 type pick given he’s a good kick & good mark taller forward which is a much sought after youngster.
