  1. It depends if Bailey Humphrey is a possible alternative. If he's not, i take that offer personally.
  2. Love this. Potential ins Hawkins, Hamill, Scarlett, Bartel.
  3. I'll be shocked if Pickett hasn't sacked Guerra and appointed Jeffo CEO by round 1.
  4. you could go the Tinder route with the huge upsell tag. like "Big_muscles_Tim_Lamb
  5. What.... what about Jeffo?!?
  6. All posters need to understand that people just lie at this time of years. I told my boss at 9am this morning i wasn't going to sit in my office and eat Twinkies and listen to trade Radio. it's lying season.
  7. I reckon they're going to get some picks for Ainsworth and Rogers potentially.
  8. @Adam The God @Very Jaded I'll meet you guys at the Tan tomorrow, see if we can join BH and King and Chunk for their walk? get our steps up
  9. the tension with the bloke he's sitting next to being the one we want.
  10. I mean the club has been fairly transparent with this, Steven King pitched to Trac to try and convince him not to seek a move. I think if this were 2024 and the Suns offered pick 6 and 7 we'd have taken it and run, we could have had a package of Langford, Lindsay, Tauru and Reid for example, but this year it's not the same draft so getting a deal done is going to be impossible without players of note.
  11. I can 100% guarantee you that if the Gold Coast Suns don't appease Melbourne, Trac will be playing at Melbourne in 2026. In fact, Steven King is only allowing this process to play out at all as a gesture of good faith to Trac, he would prefer to keep him.
  12. Bowes from the Suns was probably the more traditional "Salary dump" the Suns gave up pick 7? in exchange for the Cats taking the entire salary off their hands. Clarry is a little bit different, no club wants him at 1.3 million or whatever he's on so we're offsetting that to essentially make it Clarry at say 700k which is appealing to a lot of clubs. I don't think we'll get anything in return, but i don't believe we're pushing Clarry out because we want the money, i think the driving force is the cultural re-set angle. We could offer pick 23 or a future first if a team wanted to take on his entire contract for example, then it'd be a salary dump. Grundy was more of a soft salary dump, the Pies had a huge and well documented Cap squeeze and needed to move on Treloar and Grundy for those reasons, neither were negative influences in terms of culture and they'd i'm sure have preferred to keep both if they could It's largely semantics but i think definitions are important in this case, Clarry has effectively been sacked by the MFC, we're paying someone to take him off our hands. If this were a traditional salary dump we'd be saying well if we're paying 700k we get pick 12, but because it's not that, we won't get a lot.
  13. So? we signed him to a long term deal anticipating that he'll be here for the duration. We can again, just not trade him, that's what makes contracts great.
  14. In this case it's incredible relevant. the 6th and 7th ranked players in the 2024 draft would very likely have gone at pick 1 in 2025 the quality of the draft is a huge hurdle for all trades this year, if the players you're bringing in don't appeal, of course you wouldn't value the picks as part of any trade.
  15. Great, and that might well be the case with Clarry because Melbourne want him out for reasons that almost certainly go well beyond the money. But my point was that's not typically how a salary dump situation works, generally the selling club will either give the player away, or even offer something to clear the salary. this is different because we're only just clearing some of the cap space, unclear exactly how much. I'd be shocked if it's not at least half of his wage though. if not a little bit more.
  16. I think this element is overstated. If BH is telling the Suns he wants to leave, and he's happy to go to Melbourne which i believe he is, what is being said publicly is largely just optics. The Suns would be having discussions around "Well if we hold him this year, and miss out on Petracca maybe a Hawthorn or Collingwood gets him next year for a couple of late first round picks" This moment is a bit like when Adelaide offered a war chest for Clarry, we held him too long and now we'll get a much worse return. it all depends on if they're confident they can bring him around
  17. Imagine for a moment if the Suns refused to pony up Bailey Humphrey, and then the MFC walked Trac back in the doors. and then in 12 months time BH again wants to leave. the Suns probably blow a premiership window
  18. Correct. and it also doesn't matter in the slightest what the Suns think is fair for Petracca, in order to get him they have to either match or decline what WE think is fair. it's amazing when people are so desperate to be negative that just basic logic goes out the window. You don't walk into JB HI FI and set the price of a new TV, the seller does, you can negotiate but at some point you have to say yes or no to the asking price pretty clear our asking price is Bailey Humphrey
  19. Trust the process. MFC now need to walk away from the table and refuse to engage in any talks until Bailey Humphrey is included. Make it clear no other offer gets this done Humphrey wants this, Melbourne want this, Trac wants this, they need to either come to the party or walk away totally
  20. The suns aren’t going to trade him without something insane coming back. A couple of picks and a young player they don’t need isn’t going to be much temptation for them
  21. their pick might not be top 10 this year by the time it actually comes up. but i mean any deal containing Christian Petracca is going to be better than any deal containing 2 draft picks and McKenzie. Gold Coast are unique in the draft picks don't mean as much to them as other clubs.
  22. they're going to go incredible late, or be rookies. we'll have late picks for them. Sinema i doubt will get a bid at all, and if White does it'll be really late.
  23. Not how it works Dazzle... Generally speaking with salary dumps the portion the current club plays dictates the trade outcome, normally if the new club takes on the whole deal it's a very late pick, a pick that gets better as the money goes up and up for the current club. with Clarry specifically though i think you're right, i suspect the Giants will pay roughly 900k pa, leaving the Dees paying about 400kpa and we'll end up with a very late pick that'll likely not be used. and that's a good outcome for everyone. we were never getting a first round pick or anything good
  24. It feels like a last hour of the trade period who blinks first scenario. I'll predict the final trade though. Bailey Humphrey and pick 7 for Christian Petracca and pick 24, 28, 42 essentially the players are a straight swap and we swap points picks for the high end pick. we get a gun young player and a top 10 pick they get Trac and their Academy guys
  25. I can only dream of the day i become half the man @picket fence is
