Tell you what he does bloody well for a bloke under so much pressure every week, Many opposition forwards rate him as the best defender they have played on, Jack rewoldt is one of them. and when he is out of contract, even now i can say with absolute confidence 17 other clubs will be rolling out the red carpet for him. one of the players today who totally beat his direct opponent.
-
Round 1 probably caused that to an extent, i suspect there was quite abit of panic and Neeld felt JT might help with the lack of effort, but at this point it makes no sense to destroy the blokes confidence, either he is injured and should have a couple of weeks off, or he is out of form and needs a couple in the VFL.
-
I understand some consideration has to go into the fact that the first three games would have been a serious shot to everyone's confidence, and during today's pre game presser Neeld gave a good explanation of how it's mostly our lack of composure with the ball that is hurting us, But to me this is a more acceptable issue to have, we are starting to get back to where we should have been at the start of the season anyway, the skills will become ingrained as Neeld says, Toumpas possibly coming in this week will add a very good user to the side, and with Gold coast being quite young he should have a good chance to get some confidence at AFL level.

Will watts be fit?
-
I can honestly say i had no idea just how good terlich and matt jones would be right away, both are certain starters in our best 22!
-
Trengove and Mcdonald both need a stint in the VFL Trengove obviously not right and mcdonald doesn't need his confidence destroyed More importantly we are trying to build a culture, it's great players are having to force their way in but blokes can't be protected species from going out if they aren't up to it for whatever reason.
-
won't be looked at.
-
Trengove - something not right Grimes - oh god no Jones - close to elite Viney- needs some support Frawley - what a gun Byrnes - down this week Sylvia - worked pretty hard McKenzie - eh, didn't notice Dunn - played within limits Strauss - was fairly reasonable Garland - could be captain? McDonald - needs a rest Nicholson - skills are shocking Evans - solid not striking Kent - plenty of confidence Gawn - future star ruckman Howe - was well held Spencer - Not quite there Bail - is vfl bound M.Jones - was pretty good Terlich - pretty tough day
-
Our skills and decision making are simply not good enough, do we even have a skills coach?
-
It's not but in an elite sports industry if we don't see results someone's head has to roll and unfortunately it's just about always the head coach.
-
some of our errors today were just impossible to forgive, players under no pressure not hitting targets, is it confidence or not enough focus going on this area? or pressure
-
Any news on Grimes? you wanna build a culture? Trengove needs a spell in the VFL either he's not fit or he is out of form, either means he shouldn't be in an AFL team others had to earn a spot in.
-
I am a huge fan of him, but he is clearly not 100% because of the captaincy, or injury or both, he needs to go to the VFL til he is dominating games, get the bloke his fitness and confidence back, he is still a long term prospect for us but something is clearly not right, looks abit like osteitis pubis
-
I'm really excited to see how we go, we have bought in a few players in good form, a good four quarter effort would be fantastic!
-
Everyone has been saying the biggest knock on him was his defensive work? i suppose now he can come in and play to his strength, hopefully the game is still winnable when this happens.
-
Congrats to Kent on his first game, much deserved promotion, shame he is only the sub, as much as you hate injuries hopefully there is a minor injury or something so he gets abit more game time
-
It was bound to happen at some point, they are really struggling the lions, would have to assume voss has as much pressure on him as Neeld does.

Footy Flashback - 2000 Qualifying Final
Ted Lasso replied to DemonWorshipper's topic in Melbourne Demons
Alot of people have said recently we lack genuine champions of the game, in my opinion David Neitz is just that! i remember in the 2000 finals series my house was full of red and blue streamers and i thought we were a real chance of knocking off the bombers. -
End game presser, i thought losing by 75 points was alright against a good side, we showed some good signs, Drives me crazy, can't see any reason if we start well we can't take it right up to them.
-
You can't have a bloke leading a team who goes missing at the first sign of decent opposition, Had a flutter on keiran jack for the brownlow at 21 dollars, feeling pretty good about that just now
-
Alot of people have been upset about our moving on of Brent Moloney, Sydney are currently running all over Brisbane at nearly quarter time, Brent moloney their senior midfielder has had 1 touch. we need players who stand up under that pressure to be our senior players.
-
We are a young team, so nothing will happen overnight, but our biggest problem is the second something goes wrong we want to sack everyone. the recruitments of Rodan, Byrnes, Gillies, Pederson do make sense to me, they give us depth on our list, and there one the odd chance one or two would prosper and become a really good player for us, the others basically cost nothing so it was no risk and we got some good depth Byrnes and dawes could only be having a good influence on our young group though

Sign Jesse Hogan up for 5 years (Suns and Jack Martin)
Ted Lasso replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
We want to win a premiership in the next 10 years we need to get the signature of Jesse Hogan and James Frawley during this hard time, we can't let these boys walk. Having said that it's too early to give Jesse hogan a 5 year deal, a two year contract extension being placed infront of him right now couldn't be the worst thing in the world though? -
I'm sure i am as frustrated as everyone else about where we are at, but i am not going to ignore what is obvious and expect more, aside from recruiting a couple of absolute star mids we are just going to have to give this group the time it needs. sacking the coach won't destroy the progress in fitness and such that has been made, but to me it makes no sense to sack Neeld unless we have an experienced coach committed.
-
we have had a few young players get a good crack and show abit this year, that's always exciting, we just simply need the time, most of our list needs another 4 years before they will be getting close to their best football, Mark Neeld is not overstating how inexperienced we are.
