  1. Peter Jackson has spoken publicly about previous administrations taking the leadership out of the locker room, Jesse was very close to Mitch, but since Mitch has moved on he really hasn't had that elite forward to watch, Dawes is a B grader with really good work ethic but I personally believe Jesse will be as good as that from the word go and should become much better. we probably have 1 A grade player on our list so our younger players are having to go down this path a little bit Trengove - Ling Watts - Watson Jesse - Hawkins Viney - Selwood I'm not sure about other players but I know it is fairly common practice at our club for players to talk to blokes from other sides, guys like Cross and Vince are starting to give us that senior core to follow into battle
  2. Dan McPherson and Shannon Byrnes set it up, they felt Tommy Hawkins can teach Jesse a fair bit about using his body to monster defenders, obviously we are hoping Jesse will develop into a Mathew Pavlich type because of how mobile he is. but yes, quite a few of our players are mentored by Geelong blokes, Trengove has been mentored by Ling for quite a while now.
  3. How am I putting words in your mouth? you said " the ultimate in sport is first, who really remembers third? " this thread is about nothing more than congratulating Jess on what is a good achievement, I can't believe you would possibly be bitter enough to question that because of first, the standard of the commonwealth games, and second because she finished 3rd not first if Nathan Jones finishes third in the brownlow I doubt you will have the same attitude.
  4. Better call Jess and tell her to stay over there then because she didn't finish first.. FMD
  5. Last I heard from my best mate was that his training was going really well, Looking at getting some mentoring on a more frequent basis from Tom Hawkins Not sure when he will pull on the boots again, he was hoping to play at some level this week, but i'm really not sure if he is there or not
  6. we know you love inside mids mate, you make that very clear. I just think it's a good achievement and regardless of your opinion of the standard of commonwealth games I don't think your comment was in great taste.
  7. Also I feel like Mark Robinson is on the [censored] before he goes on AFL 360, he doesn't look, sound or act sober
  8. Even if it's lower than that other things are taken into account, i'd suggest we will get band 1 almost regardless
  9. I know what you mean, but that's also my point, blokes like O'keefe can come out and guys like Parker and Bird get a run and that's fine Malceski is a big chance of being All Australian this year, I don't think you just let those blokes walk in the middle of a premiership window I just think he's a little bit better than the sort of bloke you move on to give the young guys a go
  10. Seriously? how many bronze medals have you won picket? or you just can't say anything positive about her because she isn't an inside midfielder?
  11. Another thing Roos said is he didn't want to move on too many borderline players because he wanted to see how they went under his system, expect a big clean out at years end
  12. Malceski is a far more important player to Sydney than Chapman was to Geelong, Malceski sets up everything off half back, his kicking under pressure makes a huge difference in high pressure games. Hawthorn tagged him extremely hard on the weekend so they clearly rate him. If the Swans want to look to the future or get some salary cap relief it's our gain imo we'd be silly not to pick him up
  13. Mike Sheehan just said on, on the couch that Neil Craig ( Essendon head of football ) Bomber Thompson and some of the board members are not keen for hird to come back and distract from a potential finals campaign this year. I think it's a lot more than that personally, wouldn't be at all shocked if Neil Craig is coach of the bombers next season, Thompson won't stay if Hird is there, and possibly in the firing line of ASADA James Hird is right in Asada's scope and a big chance I would have thought to cop more sanctions I think it's foolish to commit to Hird being the senior coach for 2015 with so many lingering doubts
  14. Clearly underrated, he is only potentially available because the swans are unwilling to offer him a suitable contract
  15. very underrated player, an absolute key to the swans side and would be a massive get
  16. I think it gives them 6 weeks to have a massive crack at hanging onto frawley
  17. Article on the AFL website suggesting that PJ is going to discuss re-signing with the club as soon as Bartlett gets back from an overseas trip.
  18. Haha yeah thanks mate. At some point I hope morality kicks in and the blokes in charge do the right thing
  19. I wonder if Brayshaw is more suited than Petracca to the Roos game plan? Petracca is very much a burst player, Brayshaw is much more steady and consistant having said that petracca looks a very capable forward and could easily rest there with bursts through the middle
  20. No he didn't say that, he said if Roos stays around for a few more years he would. Chip will do what's best for him as that is his right, after 8 years I personally couldn't blame him at all, I think a lot of blokes on our list may look for a fresh start.
  21. I understand what you mean OD, but when is enough, enough? if this is true the clubs heavy hitters have gone and done something totally against the spirit of the game, potentially very dangerous to the players and something potentially devastating for the club, and spot. and not only is he defending those people he's backing them in to remain in positions of power at the club. ASADA will be hell bent on making them pay and little is going to make himself and the club look so much worse by trying to get off on a technicality rather than putting his players and supporters first.
  22. Very interested to see what the decision of Roosy to stick around does for the Chip situation
  23. How bad does that make little look? 5000 injections and they are still happy to try and get off on a technicality
  24. Big chance the saints beat the suns next week and we lose to the lions
