  1. I suppose you're right, would need it to favour lower rated teams.
  2. Ironically I find Vince nearly as frustrating, he is genuinely a good B grade player but his best is certainly A grade, he just doesn't produce it all the time, could prove a huge steal if Roos can help him play that way consistantly
  3. I reckon an idea where by the team who recruits a free agent has to give up the compensation pick to the opposition so picks are created out of thin air Geelong recruit James Frawley, Geelong have to give Melbourne the equivalent of what their compo should be, their first round pick the way the current system works Sydney could win the flag, pick up the top free agent and not have to give up anything.
  4. I work in the fitness industy and have worked with blokes who played AFL in the past and I have heard that when Mission took over we went on a three year intensity increase plan to get us up to AFL standard, that's how far off the pace we were.
  5. He has consistently had 30 touches in the reserves, been kicking goal, his experience and goal nous won't leave him because of his age. I think a lot of people need to remember it's Sydney we're talking about most of the blokes he's competing with for the last few spots would be certain starters every week for us
  6. plenty of good players picked at really late picks, but we are talking about a delisted free agent who would cost us nothing, and provide great leadership and experience and also a bridge to the Sydney culture I personally think he'd be able to play in a forward pocket
  7. Can only ask them, I don't know that there would be much interest in Tappy
  8. He doesn't need to be a big bodied inside midfielder because he's an outside player, his pace, speed, class are all things we are desperately lacking and he's most likely only going to cost a third round pick, it's a no brainer really.
  9. Wingard aint leaving port. Carlton have apparently had a crack at Wines already
  10. Actually got a sneaky bet on Boomer for top 3 in the brownlow, not a bad effort for an old fella
  11. the argument would be no finals in 8 years 37 wins in 8 years over the past 3 years we have lost Colin Sylvia, Brent Moloney, Jared Rivers, and probably James Frawley to free agency, had Aaron Davey, David Rodan, Shannon Byrnes, Mitch Clark and Brad Green retire, so we are losing key senior players consistently during this period at the bottom I reckon we have a pretty powerful case
  12. Regardless of our ladder position I think we should put in an application for a PP, rather than get pick 1 i'd say we are a big chance to get an end of first round pick and get our compo from Chip to be Band 1 regardless of the contract, within reason.
  13. Gave the club 10 years of service
  14. Some players have, sure. I don't believe Wingard has any interest in going to any other club, and I don't believe any other club will offer so much that Port couldn't match it.
  15. GNF reckons there is a chance he might, not really relevant to the thread and good chance it won't happen but I don't know if it's quite Fact just yet
  16. When GWS interviewed Wingard before that draft he told them he was a South Australian boy and they would regret taking him if they did as he would head home at the first opportunity, which is why he wasn't taken top 3 in that draft, he has confirmed that himself. there is no chance he leaves Port Adelaide.
  17. He is a fair bit better than Byrnes though, had 35 touches on he weekend, been getting 30 plus most weeks I completely understand the concerns regarding his age, but I would think just the players actually seeing him train and stuff would be how to get the most value from him, from our point of view.
  18. That would be his primary role, he wouldn't be able to offer heaps on field, even playing at Casey he would offer a lot to the development of Salem and co, personally I think he could still play some games in the seniors for us as a forward
  19. 1 year as a playing development coach sitting up forward? would bring experience, leadership and another insight into the swans culture, players would learn a lot about training standards, having a clean lifestyle and what it takes to become a hard work based star, I have never thought of O'keefe as super talented but works as hard as anyone.
  20. I reckon it comes off a lot better from someone the players respect, I have heard Roosy has given the players some decent bakes
  21. Pretty sure we have come out well on top with Vince.
  22. I think the club will be keen for Hogan to play this year, they need to use the final few weeks to generate some excitement for the off season, the more momentum we hit pre season with the better
