  1. One of the best posts i've seen on this site in a long time Jesse isn't perfect, and we probably rely on him far more than we'd like considering his age/experience, i do believe Jesse is just starting to understand we can win games if he doesn't dominate so the pressure to destroy opposition has lifted a little and he does seem to be enjoying things a little more. He isn't great defensively but he works bloody hard, so i'm sure over time that will improve, he leads right up the ground and goes behind the ball and he's really becoming a very good all round player for us.
  2. Hahahaha contract should be reduced... that's hilarious. Jesse Hogan is the wet dream of 17 other coaches, the most talented young forward in the comp by a mile and doing things no other forward in the history of the game has done at his age. we will pay him whatever we have to if it means keeping him because he's just that good. this is our Wayne Carey 2.0
  3. I really like Jayden Hunt and i think even if those three were all in and in form he'd still be in the side.
  4. Give him a week to think about it, every team in the comp knows he has a short fuse and if he doesn't learn to deal with players winding him up he will miss a few weeks to come.
  5. I liken the ducking to staging, a deliberate action to draw a free kick, i personally think it should be a free kick against the player who did it and every time a bloke ducks down the player should drive them into the ground hard and make them earn it
  6. I think it's all between the ears for Jesse, but i would like to see a shorter run up and [censored] that skip off so he has less margin for error, like a fast bowlers run up, if it needs to be repeated over and over you want it as simple as possible with all momentum heading towards the target.
  7. Another nearly day for Hogan, i thought he worked hard, competed well in the air and took some good grabs and looked dangerous but couldn't finish off his work.
  8. What a pick this bloke is proving to be!
  9. He definitely does but it's not through not reading the ball, he's very good at knowing when to put a block on so Gawn or Watts can take a grab
  10. I'm sure it was the clubs preference, that doesn't mean that talks didn't start and Hogan and his manager decided to put them on hold after.
  11. agree to disagree i think.
  12. He did, they were talking about a new deal over the pre season.
  13. Definitely! I don't believe he would have entered negotiations to start with if he was tempted to leave.
  14. They did the same thing with Lynch last year and him basically saying he was coming to the dees caused them to cough up a better deal, the crows will pay what they need to to keep JJ
  15. the media circus around Jesse is amazing, his next contract is going to be huge dollars and he'll deserve every cent for having put up with this rubbish.
  16. Agreed! and i wouldn't be at all surprised if he signed before this season is out, simply because he's clearly hating the speculation.
  17. Jesse is one of the more loyal guys you're likely to meet, i would be absolutely shocked if he is talking to Fremantle at all, i have no doubt they'd be chatting to his manager but meeting them in seasons with a year and a half to go on his contract is just crazy.
  18. Lucky he's going to stay so it won't matter :D
  19. Jesse went home to Perth 5-6 times in season last year like this, it's just how we're managing him.
  20. Assuming this is for Prestia right? there is absolutely no way in the world Dom Tyson would agree to a trade out of victoria. the club would know who they're prepared to offer up in order to get someone like Dion to the club, i'm certain Dom isn't once of those players
  21. Hogan would be crazy to sign a 10 year deal, as others have said the salary caps are getting bigger, in 5 years time he might be worth 2 mil or more a year
  22. The interesting thing being at Fremantle, it will all rest on him and Fyfe and Fyfe has a very serious injury that may not recover 100%
  23. it's amazing how out of context my post was taken, as i said my overwhelming preference is to keep Jesse, of course, he is vital. But we don't have the final say, he might leave and it might be totally out of our control, the silver lining if there is any is that we will get significant compensation for him if that does eventuate, will it be the same as keeping him? no. but two top 10 picks and a player potentially does help soften the blow a little bit.
  24. Stay or go i am fairly comfortable with where we sit. Obviously overwhelming preference is to keep Jesse, but if he does go imo the opening of negotiations for a trade would be 2 top 10 draft picks and god knows where it would end up, so we'd be well compensated Plus we have Weiderman coming through who is a very good talent.
  25. Pretty much, he's having what i'd consider second year blues and still matching or beating nearly every young key forward in the comp besides Tom Lynch, and he is good enough to be as good or better than him before this year is out if he gets his best footy going
