  1. Viney will be a demon. we all know it
  2. I believe Buddy Franklin, that is why Hawks are trying to sign him up now, before scrutiny comes into play. Firstly you and i have no idea how he will fit in at AFL level. I know plenty about Grundy, but what i also know is that players who are good at junior and SANFL level doesnt mean they translate into AFL level. you quote " He's not a "developing"player in that sense, he will be learning and improving, but he's ready to go." implying he isnt a developing player, but than you further contradict yourself by saying he will be learning and improving, isnt that the definition of developing. Not only does he still have muscle to put on (and yes i have seen him), he has alot to learn about the game, because ever Gary Ablett admits he learns more and more about the game. Although i believe Grundy will be a good player, we do not need him as much as we need Jack Viney for instance because our ruck stocks are more than enough.. have some faith in Jamar, Spencer, Gawn and Mitch Clark. I would rather have a ball magnet in our team who will in time learn how to use the footy in an acceptable manner than have a player who is going to have people like Ben Reid on him next year and completely abliterate his confidence.. (this is living proof of Jack Watts). I will not be upset if we get Grundy because i have complete faith in Mark Neeld, i would personally just rather 2 new mids
  3. *fingers crossed on this one* with a midfield like next year: Viney, Trengove, Jones, Ray, Wellingham, Mckenzie, Toumpas.. there is alot of potential for a real gun midifeld. Than we could afford to have Sylvia and howe at half forward, grimes at half back.. where they are supposed to be.. could be the start of something big because it always starts with the midfield..
  4. Actually yes, there is 3 more brothers. Grimes gives the handball to Grimes, Grimes boots it long, Huge mark by Grimes, handballs to Grimes.. GOAL by Grimes good team play haha
  5. he has huge issues. I was at a dinner with Dr Peter Larkins and he told me he doesnt think Scully can end up playing consistent footy for seasons on end due to his debilitating knee issue
  6. Yeah agreed, but consequently we ripped them off.
  7. I still think we got the better one
  8. its nice to see someone shares that opinion... we cannot afford another Watts siituation... as good as Jack Watts is, in his first couple of years showed nothing and added very little to the team. A mid who performs will add as quick as next year. Another example. Lucas Cook
  9. would be good, wouldnt it
  10. dont we all hope so... We need a real A grade gun players, im praying
  11. just my issue with bringing in a player like Brodie Grundy.. we dont need another young tall who takes ages to wait see if he delivers. Why dont we get 2 "gun" midfielders and set our team from there, just my opinion
  12. its also been the same with Brendon Goddard. We didnt need to read 400 stories to know he was going.
  13. Rip off GWS***
  14. Melbourne have gotten 2 first round picks in Scully leaving us this year with pick 3,4,13,26. Best case scenario we get Viney pick 26. Leaving us with the best possible chance of being big winners in this years draft. Scully has a knee issue that is likely to bug him for his whole career and Scully going to GWS has just made him like any other of there youngsters, a player in learning.. Scully made a huge error and i believe Melbourne will be the real winners. There is potentially 2 "scullys" we can get from this years draft with pick 3 and 4. We won this one. Moral of the story: dont pay a 20 year old a million dollars a year who has proved nothing
  15. I reckon Ray would be good pickup, lets make him a demon. Ray is amazing with run and carry and would surely fill a void that we need. Also we could give maybe a player and a late pick should do it
  16. Rivers i think will go to Geelong? Melbourne will want to keep Bail, he has a bright future ahead. Hopefully we can do a deal with pies for Wellingham
  17. come on guys.... give me your thoughts on who will be with the Mighty demons next year
  18. The main thing is that West Coast are offering pick 17. ( if thats even true) we have pick 13 and more money than West Coast.. #we win
  19. Agreed, also West Coast do not need another midfield type player.. with players like Gaff, Shuey, Embley, Rosa,Kerr still going, Masten starting to deliver, Priddis and Scott Selwood. There is a very long shot they are going to give away a pick.
  20. nah, pick 13 for wellingham is worthwhile
  21. I would like to know everyones opinions on where you think Melbourne is going this off season with new players and players that will leave please format your comments like below: Coming to Club: Leaving club: Comment: How will Melbourne benefit: look forward to hearing from you guys!
  22. I will be honest, not going to lie here. When Mitch Clark arrived at Melbourne i thought he was overpriced and a true B grader. Mitch proved that in Melbourne he is a true A grader and can easily go a long way to winning the Coleman Medal next year. Wellingham can be an A grader at Melbourne. Imagine in a couple of years what our midfield could be Trengove, wellingham, Jones, Grimes, Mckenzie, Viney... that is very solid and potentially could shape up to be a geelong midfield
  23. My personal idea of an "A" grader is a couple of things. (for a midfielder) First thing is that the player needs to be able to use the footy in a particular way that is very often effective. There needs to be a level of speed. The player needs to be able to create space and time in tricky situations, (sam mitchell and scott pendlebury are amazing at that) need to be able to win footy inside and outside the packs. also needs some kind of a mark, someone who when one on one can create a serious contest or take the mark. Wellingham might be that, we dont know.. i would love to see him there. I would love to see Wellingham at Melbourne, plus a whole lot of other new players. Lets make a real team
  24. I would personally like Tippett more than Cloke, which is quite funny because at the start of the year i would have said Cloke any day. Hayes is way too old, we arent going for a premiership in the next 2 years, id imagine finals is more realistic objective to get to. Hayes just isnt a good enough investment.
  25. yeah, he looks better than Aussie and hopefully more reliable for Melbourne to stay onthe list
