  1. Sounds a bit extreme, but the Lovett bro's and McDonald's did ok.
  2. Use pick 40 on him? Is anyone warming to him?
  3. Dayle Garlett, if no body snaps him up b4 pick 40. He will be a freak show.
  4. When I think of Trengove at his best I remember his tackle on Dangerfield which he was given 3 weeks suspension for. I remember him being aggressive and hungry around the contest and strong. It is just a shame how over the past 2 years he has played so differently to try to benefit the team, or through injury niggles/fitness, or the burden of captaincy, that our opinions of him have changed negatively compared to his first 2 years. But he is 22 and should have a breakout year 2014
  5. There was a reason why Trengove was number 2 in the draft and why he was made captain, 2012 & 2013 was poor because of injury, but we need him back to his best, because his best is elite. SHOW SOME FAITH IN THE YOUNG MAN FFS!!! But he needs a big pre season and confidence. I hope he is relieved from the captaincy for his own benefit and the clubs.
  6. HB might be hogans best position considering he played as a junior back and forward. After his year at Casey I think he should continue as a big forward. But just because it didn't work for Watts, doesn't mean won't work for someone else. Watts has struggled in general.
  7. However MFC need to create a working environment that the best footballers want to be apart of.
  8. If we loose Frawley, then we have backline issues.....happy that Grimes should be down back next year McDonald, Grimes, Garland & Frawley.
  9. He was one of many we drafted from 2002-2006 that didn't get the best out of themselves, Sylvia, Dunn, Bate. And has left a big hole in our list...
  10. yeh right, do you think he will be there at pick 9?
  11. One thing we can do is learn from our mistakes, and drafting people who lack confidence and the ability to perform on the big stage against men.
  12. We need this guy to be a 200 game player for us. Still our midfield will be one of the youngest in the AFL but hopefully an exciting season awaits us, with some success. Tyson and Hogan should provide something for us next year.
  13. Looks like the complete midfielder, smart and composed, good ball user with pace. One thing that really caught my eye from his highlights was how fast he disposes of the ball when under pressure, instead of being tackled. I had never seen him play, but I am excited at what we have landed. Let's hope Tyson, Vince, Viv and our pick 9(Bontempelli/Lennon) can have a big impact in 2014
  14. Just say the top 5 go like this in any order Boyd, Kelly, Scharenberg, Billings, Aish. With McDonald at 8. In the mix at 9 will most likely be Sheed, Lennon, Bontempelli, Taylor, Freeman. We would be silly to pick a skinny midfielder, Bontempelli and Freeman have size ready to play AFL. Bontempelli 194cm 85kg might provide different dimension with his height (similar to Cale Morton) BUT has a bigger built. I know size isn't everything but Aish, Kelly and Billings all look like they need a fair bit of work in the weights room before they can match it with men. I think at pick 9 Bontempelli is our man for and immediate impact next year, anyone agree?
  15. Yes, the power need to keep him, had a really good year. Why would anyone want to leave Port right now, lets be honest they are going places and have a great young midfield Wingard, Wines, Hartlett, Boak, Ebert.
  16. Bugg and Buntine..... Well let's hope that doesn't prevail!!! We need a S.Selwood, D.Mundy, S.Mitchell type player with this pick 2. Inside midfielder with elite fitness and skills and a prolific ball winner.....that is what we require!
  17. Talking about trading Byrnes, but we got a problem....Melbourne is the only team that wants him....because of his 'experience' ! Pick 36 Garlett, give this guy the opportunity to travel and see Europe...maybe Amsterdam what do you reakon?
  18. You will cheer for him because you are loyal, but when we loose I rarely cheer, in fact, I stop going to footy.
  19. But I think Frawley has given us more that what Byrnes will ever give.
  20. No it just frustrates me that we gave him a second chance at the top level and good $$ and what did he give to us?? Prior to his 'photos' he was rated top 10 in last year draft pool. What will Byrnes give us in 2014, I can't be bothered with him and not the sort of person I want to support. Do any other teams want him??? I like the unknown factor with Garlett.
  21. Any chance of delisting Byrnes, no offence but he did FA this year and I saw photo's of him parading around in Europe...I just thought that is bullsheet, what a waste...let's get Dayle Garlett to play wing half forward .who's keen for that ?? He could stay with the Viney's with Jimmy & Hoges.
  22. From the rumours a couple of weeks ago it could of been possible but wouldn't think so now mumford has moved west. BEN HUR - SO BORED OF YOUR POSTS, STOP FLOGGING IT.
  23. Just out of curiosity, who thinks Scully would be worth trading for pick 2 if he was available?
  24. If they want pick 2 to draft Scharenberg, which long term should work out for them, but in the next couple of years how is Davis(experienced) Plowman(2-3games) and Scharenberg(0 games) I can not see them holding Franklin and Tippet to a low score, or Clark, Hogan & Dawes. I think they need experienced defenders, unless they want to finish bottom again.
  25. Interesting... Thinking back to last year when GWS chose Plowman, O'Rourke with pick 2 and pick 3 instead of other highly rated players and both of them hardly played all year, I wouldn't think they would choose Scharenberg over Aish or Kelly. If their strategy is long term it makes sense but why trade Shiel, who has 2 years under his belt learning to compete at the top leve for ather KPP in Scharenberg? Sure their list is full of mids but having developed Shiel it would make sense to trade him for a developed KPP.
