  1. well done dees, great result.....not guilty and no draft picks wahoo
  2. reckon he is a winner....got rid of the softies in morton, bennell etc and has brought in a good team needs some wins next year or this year but a winner to date get aboard
  3. ones a free wheeling game in darwin where anyone can get an easy kick ones a intraclub praccy match with more structures and more hard work needed played well in one and struggled in the other IMHO too many of our experienced players have been flat track bullies - Moloney, Davey, Sylvia, Jamar etc etc etc
  4. Watched the praccy match, Garland destroyed him and he isnt an a-grade defender Will struggle if Byrnes, Tappy, Blease etc get some sort of form Still not 100% fit and struggles on repeat efforts which Neeld wont put up with Shame we arent a good side that can carry a few blokes
  5. I reckon Blease was good too as was Strauss which was a good viewing, Grimes will be better this year.....backs and forwards will be ok, midfield will be very average again this year which is why we are some years off being a good side. Got to remember the injections into the midfield (jones, toumpas, viney etc) are first year players at our club and by no means stars Was pretty average and if someone thought it was great or good then id recommend them to get to a top 4 teams training. Improvement is there but some forget how far back we are coming from that we have to pick up discards rodan, byrnes etc just to have decent role models in the club Got to keep it real i guess. I do credit neeld and craig for making it more professional at our club though, very thorough so congrats to the footy department
  6. didnt go with rose coloured glasses supporter and watch a bit of the hawks training as well. I thought it was pretty average, about 4 - 5 kicks out on the full in a shortened match which better teams would laugh at.....our kicking is pretty average unless under no pressure positives were toumpas (moves well), viney, garland on davey, byrnes, hogan (mark my words he will be a star) negatives - dunn n frawley still do occassional silly things but dunn looks better as a backman than a forward, tappy struggled, davey struggled alot and garland would give him nightmares, jamar has lost his mojo in marking, sylvia should carve up matches like this and didnt. No wonder neeld said our biggest loss last year was when we had our most experienced side, frustrating wouldnt be surprised to see nicolson and mcdonald soon in the leadership group.....nicolson was good today Pretty average but it would be when your missing dawes, trenners, howe etc it will be pretty average Improvement is there but we are miles off being just a "good" side which is why neeld is playin down expectations
  7. ill be there to have a look, should be good hope the foot skills have improved but somewhat doubtful still think our problem is the midfield, we are relying on first year players (toumpas, viney) and sylvia to have a decent year - well stranger things have happened
  8. we would be niaive to think that we arent in head deep in this......every journo says we are guilty, 7 months of investigation etc we should be bracing for bad news and the massive financial cost to fight it this is a massive issue and bagging out every journo in town is putting our heads in the sand
  9. i think schwab has done an admirable job and the facts back that up the sponsors and tanking is a huge worry tho, its a couple of mill of dollars / sponsors we are short atm
  10. going through a testing time us dees, everyone needs to not jump on little things like playing the team song at the end bigger fish to fry atm
  11. agree, has plenty to work on before becoming a good player.....
  12. The tanking situation is killing us atm......I reckon for once the footy department looks to have the right set up n people but the tanking situation is killing us of being able to go forward and get sponsors. Hopefully can end soon but always hard when legal teams are involved Might be a tough year on the financials front
  13. i reckon sponsorship is our biggest issue atm....if the club is asking foundation heroes for help and anyone else a million or 2 is a big hole to go back into
  14. think some q's should be asked at agm......looks like we r 1 - 2 mill short this year of sponsors we would have to be the hardest sell in town = tanking
  15. great to hear these stories and agree the current admin n coaching panel is better than ever
  16. we have blease and watts isnt too much of a sprinter, more glides and rarely hits top pace Need toumpas desperately, we were horrid at spread last year McK, Jones, Viney, Trenners, Magner all inside mids Every side needs pace like Young, Hill, Wellingham Jetta, etc - more valuable than u think in this game of structures
  17. watts is one, jones is a way off and davey doesnt get a game one elite kick - wahoo bring on toumpas
  18. bring on the toumpas - consistently regarded as top 3 and exactly what we need in class and pace
  19. toumpas - been consistently regarded as top 3 and with jones, magner, trenners, mckenzie as inside mids we need some class and pace besides blease
  20. Senior players who destroyed our culture and leadership around the club......i dont think we understood how bad our club was until we got some decent people in who are now cleaning out go Neeld, Craig, Misson etc Bring on the new leaders
  21. all average players who didnt stand up consistently, nor didnt have the committment or talent to get a game with a bottom 4 team we should be giving neeld a standing ovation
  22. excuses runnin thin for Col, put him out at trade week and see if someone bites couldnt stand another year of potential comments etc
