  1. Without this injury JM would have been offered another year simply because our forward stocks are so low. Hopefully it's the 12 week type of knee problem rather than the 12 month one. Does raise the issue of insurance/compensation for players like JM and Dunstan who are both facing a loss of income from final year or country football etc
  2. Grundy played almost full time ruck on Sunday. The forward experiment was nowhere to be seen other than in the last quarter when he was resting. The idea of a half each has merit though
  3. This is the conundrum. The Thursday night game means that those who play in the Casey game will probably only have a five if not 4 day break. Realistically it means the likes of TMac and possibly Grundy won't play. Same for Hibberd Another example of the VFL comp not doing what it should. We could ask for a Friday night VFL game perhaps
  4. Maybe.. do you give him a run against he bulldogs (VFL) or not. If we get the Thursday night QF it may preclude the Casey hit out
  5. GWS will have no issues with the Saints... almost a free hit
  6. Rucked about 75% with relief from Schache who played down back and occasionally Verrall
  7. An absolute master class that included taps to players, taking the ball from the ruck, groundball follow up and of course 3 goals
  8. Yes... against Bulldogs Will be interesting to see if we play TMac, Tomlinson and Laurie in that match. After the Fritsch scare they won't dare play him Spargo's game at Casey was just okay. Jordon was arguably BOG
  9. Jordon, Grundy TMac and AMW with a special mention to White Jefferson had he kicked straight as well. Overall a great performance by them all. Hopefully we have a big supporter turn out next week. Do you play TMac at Casey next week?
  10. Great game by Casey Play like that again next week and there might be some tough decisions for the AFL selection committee
  11. Jordon arguably BOG at Casey and TMac with 5 goals
  12. Not sure why you don't rest players if you are going to play so many out of position. So much for the required match play. Grundy giving a ruck masterclass at Casey today
  13. Grundy giving a rucking masterclass
  14. Will he play next week is an interesting question (assuming Casey win)
  15. Let the Practice Game begin TMac has kicked 3 at Casey in the first quarter BTW
  16. Good game Up and down the corridor. Not the usual boundary hugging
  17. Grundy opening ruck so the experiment is over
  18. Welcome to the Irrelevant Round
  19. Dogs lucky to still be in this game
  20. 2 goals 10 Now that's accuracy
  21. I could like North but......
  22. Hawks are a strange one. No problem ladder wise if they win yet they're losing to a team that has similarly no incentive
  23. Just go through the Melbourne based VFL teams (AFL aligned) and you'll find a couple at least. A $50k pay rise for say 2 years will prise them free. Remember you're looking for a ruck not a number 1 mark around the ground player ie another Max
  24. I'd forgotten Dunstan but you're right.. that's another as is Laurie.
  25. Yes and the reality is that what we draft in from other clubs will probably be not as good but this is what happens when you have a relatively closed first 22/23. Not sure how it could be better handled but 4 cusp players leaving other than by retirement seems high. Throw in the possible retirement of Hibberd, BBB and even Melksham and TMac, you have big turnover
