Agree It's a difficult balancing act not made easier by the competition make up. Have often wondered if you were a non AFL fringe player who would you prefer to play for. A stand alone club where your selection is on merit or an AFL aligned club where your selection is based mainly on how many injured or hold overs there are in the AFL team. Enjoyable match today which did many of the AFL youngsters no harm in the development stakes

These umps don't like paying insufficient intent. Think that's the third one that would have been paid at AFL level

Must say I don't understand BBB's program. We treat him with kid gloves at training yet we play him in meaningless VFL matches when we have way too many tall forwards at that level. He needs fitness but at his level he doesn't really need match practice in the technical sense. You could get three amateur players to provide him with body on body practice for example- CASEY: Rd 06 vs Williamstown
Definitely need to find a spot for Hunter in the sense of a position. At the very least he has advantages as a sub- PODCAST: Kade Chandler Interview
Thoroughly enjoyable interview. Would not mind hearing at some stage from a member of MFC staff on how they manage the various player tiers on life/jobs after football. One of the pluses Fritsch had by joining as a 21 year old is that he's now a qualified electrician with his own business. I have always been surprised that players with long term injuries (ACL etc) are not encouraged to take a mental break from the football environment and engage in outside activities while maintaining fitness. Similarly will we ever see senior players at say age 28 taking a year off in an effort to extend/improve their playing career.- CASEY: Rd 06 vs Williamstown
Sandringham v North on Channel 7. Thought we might have got the TV game. Watching via the website is not optimal but the universal coverage is probably the one big improvement in the VFL comp Next weeks VFL game is 5:10pm Friday at Princes Park against Carlton. Might be worth a visit - CASEY: Rd 06 vs Williamstown
