  1. Next Tuesday's weather is very pleasant. Let's hope it is the same for Wednesday. I wonder how many reserved seat holders Richmond has. Suspect there will be a fair few empty. Perhaps a visit to the Tigers forum might unleash a few for those who are willing (Quiet barrackers only of course)
  2. I'm afraid you will find that the Great AFL Wall resembles the Great Internet Wall of China. There are replay sites provided by wonderful fans but you generally wait 24-48 hours. Live radio is still available. Good luck.. it's a lottery
  3. Assuming decent weather this should be a regulation win. Other than BBB who I think would benefit from a longer break and the compulsory in for Salem and the return of Picket I'd like to see the team settle. Fullarton in for the week to take 50% ruck and to give JVR some more forward time. Max to be used more sparingly. We have seven matches to the mid season bye. Realistically to finish top 4 we need to go 5-2. That's a tough ask as 4 of our opponents are Collingwood, Carlton, Freo and Geelong. Each of these games are at best 60/40. I'm moderately happy with the team progress to date but the time to get the forward line bedded down is fast running out. Petty should have had a game or two more at Casey but he has now been back for three games and should be match fit.
  4. More money from the AFL just like GWS and GCS etc. AFL never makes hard decisions just like politicians. Too much backlash
  5. No club has the deal Geelong has. Even the interstate clubs. All the catering rights, all the super box revenue all the ground advertising. The list goes on. And to think they pay a pittance
  6. Thought they would be better than they have shown so far. There are quickly becoming three groups with Hawthorn, North and Eagles at the bottom. Probably six teams at the top and then the rest in the middle. I usually wait till the mid season bye to assess relative merits. The big disappointment of our loss to the Lions was that it definitely brought us back to the pack. Long way to go though
  7. Blues looking threatening
  8. Dogs definitely need to improve their defence. In a perfect world JUH traded for Petty and something would be good for both clubs. Shame it won't happen
  9. Just when these players need a game to display match day skills we get another bye. There's possibly some life in Laurie. Don't mind players being exposed to other positions especially the half forwards and pockets. BBB should only play 3 out of every five games IMO. There's a spot which would probably have gone to Joel S in the off weeks but it's definitely up for grabs. McAdam at the next Casey match could be worth the entry fee
  10. Wins by the Saints and Crows would not do our long term aims any harm
  11. Mfc has had a dominant ruckman for 20 plus years but we have never dominated clearances on a consistent basis. Why... I think it is simply that while Gawn has a plan as to where he would like to hit it the reality of the ruck duel is that precision is rare
  12. they remind me of young Stretch and JKH........... good at VFL level but not possessing the spark necessary to crack AFL Hope I'm wrong
  13. Laurie is probably the one who has a chance. I'm not seeing AMW making it but he could surprise. Hunter is another but he needs a few games is my guess. A pity the VFL team has a bye next week given they've just had one
  14. Do we have a vfL game in our bye week? Hopefully yes If so we have two weeks to decide
  15. Zero excuse for that performance. They owe us one
  16. one rushed behind in almost 30 minutes of football
  17. Could have been a lot worse A few players need to lift to say the least
  18. binman has told us that we like to lose clearances so you may relax
  19. Oliver without a touch so far
  20. Hope you've got lots of ice. Stinking hot and humid in SE Asia at present
  21. I adopted the arrogant Hawthorn supporter psyche last week and it worked well. MFCSS is back for this game though
  22. billings kicks two of his misses and Petty one of his and last week's win was by 32. Not bad Kozzie will be badly missed if for no other reason than he commands a good defender. Cameron's form this year has been woeful. Last week watching their game I asked at half time if he was out injured as I had not heard him called. Turned out he had been playing but had one possession to that time. Definitely need to get this done and then settle the line up over the next five weeks or so until the mid year bye As Bugs Bunny used to say... Overture, curtain, lights This is it, we'll hit the heights Tonight what heights we'll hit. On with the show, this is it.
  23. big game Not as confident as I was last week. Our forward talls are all now match fit. Hopefully they deliver as a group Accuracy last week was bad. Can't afford a repeat Dees by 21
  24. Centre clearance after a goal is another matter. It offers a very high chance of scoring if it's a clean win
